Chapter 230: But It Will Never Be Your Brother

“Tilda, if I agree to this, I really won’t be able to live with myself.”
Her principle had always been not to trouble anyone. If she really went and registered with Malcolm to cover up her lie, sure, the lie would be well-covered, but what about Malcolm?
What if he meets a girl he likes in the future? How would he explain that he was once married when it comes time to discuss marriage?
“This is my brother’s voluntary decision,” Tilda said sincerely. “I talked to him about it, and he’s willing to go through with the act! He even doesn’t mind you having Ulric’s child. If you agree, he can tell his parents that the child is his, and everything will fall into place.”
“No.”
“Why do you have to keep pushing people away? What’s wrong with my brother?”
Sometimes Tilda really didn’t understand what Rosalind was thinking!
If it were her, and she needed help at this moment, and there was such a devoted person willing to step up without any pressure, why was it so hard to just nod in agreement? She would have agreed long ago.
“Tilda, he’s your own brother. How can you ruin him like this?” Rosalind was exasperated. “He’s young now, so he thinks this way, but he’ll regret it later.”
“Adults have to take responsibility for their actions. And whether or not he’ll regret it is something for the future! Look at my brother; he really likes you a lot right now! I’ve never seen him like this before.” Tilda hoped the two could be together.
Although Rosalind was carrying Ulric’s child, which was not ideal, she couldn’t bear to see her best friend marry another man!
If that were the case, she’d rather Rosalind be with her brother; at least they knew everything about each other.
“I know you’re looking out for me, and I know Malcolm means well, but I really can’t do this.”
“Are you planning to never find someone again while raising this child? You’re still so young, and the child needs a father figure too,” Tilda tried to persuade her from another angle. “Even if you’re heartbroken and not doing it for yourself, think about the child! Since you’ve decided to keep the baby, you should try to give him a complete family. You know better than anyone what it’s like to grow up without a father.”
Rosalind lowered her eyes and fell silent.
Yes, she knew best.
“We’ll see in the future. Maybe I’ll find someone.”
She had decided long ago not to follow the same path as her mother.
She used to think that if a man could enter Eva’s heart halfway through her life, she wouldn’t have ended up like this; at least she could have moved past some of her issues.
Now that it was her turn, she didn’t want to be as stubborn as her mother.
“So, my brother-”
“But it will never be your brother.”
Such a good man; she couldn’t drag him down too.

Ulric hadn’t received any reply from Rosalind.
The two of them suddenly seemed to have reverted to their previous relationship!
In fact, before they met again, Ulric had countless times opened Rosalind’s WeChat late at night, trying to say something to her, anything at all, but in the end, he couldn’t think of what to say.
Now, his messages were still met with silence.
In the president’s office of W Group, Ulric furrowed his thick brows as he put away his phone and got up to walk towards the floor-to-ceiling window.
“Knock knock-”
Someone was knocking on the door outside.
“Come in.”
The door opened; it was Cedric.
“Mr. Walters, I looked into some things about Rosalind’s medical check-up that day.”
