Leo had found Miss Hayes’s attire and voice peculiar earlier, but he had never considered the possibility of progeria. Hearing the crowd’s discussion now, he was momentarily at a loss for words.
Miss Hayes seemed accustomed to such situations. She wasn’t angered by the crowd’s chatter and loudly declared, “Yes, I am indeed the young master here, Georgia Hayes!”
“Miss Hayes, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Since Dr. Leo has transferred the Dragoncloud Cauldron to the Bloomer family, please swipe your card,” Jason said, uninterested in the progeria issue, as he approached Georgia Hayes and handed her a bank card.
Georgia Hayes signaled to an attendant who immediately took the card, swiped it, and returned it to Jason.
“Since the thirty million has been paid, the Dragoncloud Cauldron…” Jason gazed at the genuine Dragoncloud Cauldron with excitement.
“Wrap it up for Mr. Bloomer!” Georgia Hayes ordered.
Immediately, someone brought a specially made black wooden box for the Dragoncloud Cauldron. They carefully packed it and handed it to Jason.
“Thank you, Miss Hayes!” Jason accepted the Dragoncloud Cauldron with great care, his heart pounding with excitement.
“Thank Dr. Leo!” Nicholas scolded his son with a frown.
“Thank you, Dr. Leo!” Jason turned and thanked Leo somewhat perfunctorily.
Though Jason was genuinely grateful to Leo for helping the Bloomer family obtain the Dragoncloud Cauldron, he was also wary of Leo’s abilities. If Leo truly was a descendant of the Bloomer family and reclaimed his heritage, it would undoubtedly threaten Jason’s position within the family.
Jacob happily joined Jason in carrying the Dragoncloud Cauldron back to their table. They opened the box lid and stared at the Dragoncloud Cauldron with immense joy, momentarily speechless with excitement.
Old Meredith and Josiah looked grim.
Clyde Crawford angrily scolded his son, “This is the expert you invited? He’s not even as good as a young lad!”
“Mr. Meredith, don’t be angry. Would you like to take a look?” Jacob politely offered Clyde Crawford.
Clyde Crawford glared at him coldly before huffing and striding out. Josiah and Baldwin quickly followed, glaring at Jason and Jacob as they passed by.
Jason and Jacob remained unfazed, feeling delighted at seeing the Meredith family humiliated. If the Dragoncloud Cauldron truly had its legendary powers, their family could firmly suppress the Meredith family in the future.
“Mr. Bloomer, may we admire the Dragoncloud Cauldron?” Jair Sterling and his brother approached with smiles.
“Of course!” Jason agreed readily, in high spirits.
Jason then addressed everyone present, “Anyone interested can come and take a look!”
The crowd cheered and gathered around.
Meanwhile, Leo was conversing with Georgia Hayes on stage. After asking Leo some basic questions, Georgia Hayes smiled and said, “Miss Hayes, you haven’t been sleeping well lately. Would you like me to diagnose you and prescribe some medication?”
“That would be wonderful, Dr. Leo. Thank you!” Georgia Hayes agreed immediately.
Leo checked her pulse and prescribed a formula, advising her to rest early for the next few days.
“Dr. Leo, it’s getting late. Shall we head back?” Nicholas gently reminded Leo after he finished diagnosing Georgia Hayes.
Nicholas’s tone was like that of a grandfather speaking to a beloved grandson. Whether due to age or because Leo resembled his third son in youth, Nicholas subconsciously treated Leo as his dear grandson.
After bidding farewell to Georgia Hayes, Leo walked out with Nicholas.
“Dr. Leo, I apologize for misunderstanding you earlier. Please don’t hold it against this old man; my mind isn’t as sharp as it used to be,” Nicholas said guiltily.
“Old Mr. Bloomer, there’s no need for that. I’m not one to hold grudges,” Leo replied with a smile and steadied Nicholas when he noticed his unsteady gait.
Feeling Leo’s hands, Nicholas trembled slightly, his eyes moistening.
“Jason, Dad’s leaving!” Jacob noticed their father had left them behind.
The brothers quickly packed up the Dragoncloud Cauldron and told everyone they could view it another day before catching up with Nicholas and Leo.
“Dad, why didn’t you call us?” Jason asked with a smile.
“I thought you two wouldn’t want to walk with Dr. Leo,” Nicholas replied coldly, clearly referring to their earlier doubts about Leo.
Jason and Jacob’s faces fell, and they lowered their heads in embarrassment without responding.
Outside, they found it had started raining. The short and stout butler had already prepared umbrellas and arranged for everyone to be escorted to their cars with utmost care.
“Nicholas, you’re leaving too?” The butler greeted Nicholas warmly before apologizing to Leo, “Dr. Leo, I’m sorry for misunderstanding you earlier.”
“Director Mosley, it’s fine,” Leo waved off the apology nonchalantly.
The butler quickly handed Leo a business card and said with a smile, “Miss Hayes forgot to exchange cards with you earlier. She specifically asked me to get one of yours.”
“No problem!” Leo exchanged cards with the butler before joining Nicholas and the others in their car.
The convoy headed towards the city. Initially, many other families’ convoys traveled together but gradually dispersed along the way.
Jason was in high spirits from acquiring the Dragoncloud Cauldron and hummed a tune while holding it tightly.
“Jason, let me hold it for a while,” Jacob said from the back seat, unable to contain his excitement.
“No way! What if you break it?” Jason shook his head. “You can hold it when we get back.”
“You’re so stingy! Just let me hold it for a bit,” Jacob laughed as he tugged at Jason’s sleeve.
Jason remained firm. “No way! You’ve always been clumsy…”
Amid their banter, the convoy sped towards the Bloomer family estate.
