Leo ignored Master Obrien and hurried to stop Nicholas from leaving. “Old Mr. Bloomer, do you think I did this on purpose to take revenge on the Bloomer family?”
Nicholas looked at Leo with a cold expression, remaining silent.
“Old Mr. Bloomer, although the Bloomer family has treated me poorly in the past, I am not a petty person. Besides, if I were to seek revenge, I would do it openly, never using underhanded methods!”
“Leo, stop pretending. Are you saying you gave up the choice for the good of the Bloomer family?” Jason couldn’t hold back any longer and stepped forward to retort, then supported his father. “Move aside!”
Jacob also felt there was no need to stay any longer and helped Nicholas from the other side.
Just as Leo was about to explain why he gave up the choice, a short and stout man hurried over. “Nicholas, please wait!”
Nicholas, Jason, and Jacob all looked at the short man with confusion.
The short man continued, “I just got permission to give you another chance. We will shuffle the order of the three cauldrons, and you can choose again.”
Josiah, who had walked over, immediately objected in a cold voice, “They already gave up their choice. Why give them another chance? It’s not fair!”
The short man glanced at Leo before explaining to Josiah, “Mr. Meredith, fairness is not the issue here. According to the original owner’s wishes for the Dragoncloud Cauldron, giving up is not an option. One of the three cauldrons must be chosen.”
“Moreover, you saw and heard it yourself; it wasn’t the Bloomer family who decided to give up. It was that young man named Leo who acted on his own.”
The short man’s words were like a lifesaver for Jason, who quickly said, “Director Mosley is right. Our Bloomer family never intended to give up the choice. It was that kid Leo acting on his own!”
Director Mosley nodded and smiled. “I’ll have someone take the three cauldrons backstage to shuffle them again so you can make another choice.”
“Thank you so much, Director Mosley!” Jason was overjoyed.
Josiah was extremely anxious. If the Bloomer family got another chance to choose, they might get lucky and pick the real cauldron. Then he wouldn’t be able to buy the Dragoncloud Cauldron at a low price.
Master Obrien walked over and said nonchalantly, “Mr. Meredith, two fake cauldrons and one real one- even if they choose again, the odds of picking the real one are still very low.”
“You’re wrong. The odds of picking the real one remain zero,” Leo said firmly as he glanced at Master Obrien.
Hearing this, Master Obrien couldn’t help but laugh. “Kid, I have to say, you seem quite aware of your and the Bloomer family’s capabilities.”
Others around them also laughed. With two fakes and one real cauldron, even picking blindly would give some chance of choosing the real one. But now this young man from the Bloomer family claimed the odds were zero-this wasn’t just a matter of common sense but of intelligence.
Leo snorted coldly and said word by word, “I say the odds are zero because all three cauldrons on display are fake!”
At this statement, there was a moment of silence followed by uproarious laughter.
The short man’s face changed as he sternly addressed Leo, “Young man, you must take responsibility for your words. What makes you say all three cauldrons are fake?”
“Exactly! This kid speaks without thinking. He can’t make a choice, so he claims all three cauldrons are fake. Ridiculous!” someone immediately chimed in.
Master Obrien seized the opportunity to attack Leo angrily. “Leo, you can doubt my appraisal skills, but how dare you accuse the auction organizers of using fake cauldrons to deceive everyone!”
The short man was furious and said angrily to Nicholas, “Mr. Bloomer, we have hosted dozens of such auctions without a single complaint. Why are you slandering us like this?”
“Accusing others because you can’t make a choice is too much!”
“I don’t know what the Bloomer family was thinking, bringing such a reckless young man.”
“I think we should make him apologize and then throw him out.”
Everyone thought Leo was causing trouble on purpose and began angrily pointing fingers at him.
Leo remained calm and said loudly, “I repeat, all three Dragoncloud Cauldrons on display are fake. The real one shown earlier is not among them!”
With his spiritual sense, Leo could see through all fakes.
However, Leo was somewhat surprised and puzzled. By rights, this should have been arranged by the short man. When Leo declared all three cauldrons fake, the short man’s face or eyes should have shown some change. But Leo noticed no sign of guilt on his face.
Could it be that the short man really didn’t know the three cauldrons on display were fake?
The short man was livid and said to Nicholas with a dark expression, “Nicholas, this young man you’ve brought is too much. I must throw him out!”
He waved his hand, and several men in black suits immediately surrounded Leo.
The leader of the men in black said coldly, “Leave now or we’ll have to use force!”
Nicholas didn’t know Leo well but knew he wasn’t irrational or impulsive. Could it be that all three cauldrons were indeed fake?
Just as Nicholas was about to speak up for Leo, a clear woman’s voice came from backstage: “Everyone stand down!”
The clear voice drew everyone’s attention as they turned to look.
A woman in a light purple dress emerged from backstage-a woman who appeared to be in her sixties or seventies!
She had an average build and kept herself in decent shape, but her face was like dried orange peel, full of wrinkles.
The overall impression she gave was highly incongruous.
The reason lay in her attire and voice.
Her light purple dress was something a young woman would wear, yet here it was on an elderly woman in her sixties or seventies, looking quite odd.
Moreover, her voice didn’t match her age at all; it sounded like that of a woman in her twenties.
