Chapter 1652: Completely Healed

Sophia put down her half-finished Margarita and jumped up, pulling Leo’s hand.
Fireworks shot up to the highest point in the sky, scattering like an umbrella, illuminating half the night sky with a brilliant display.
A middle-aged man stood on the second-floor terrace, frowning. The loud explosions of the fireworks rendered his earpiece useless.
He could only watch as Leo’s figure moved up and down in the crowd, just like the other men and women who had come to the party.
But his heart was cold.
They had been discovered!
His men had been discovered.
From the moment Leo entered the square, every move he made was under the middle-aged man’s surveillance.
Starting from that food street, except for a bite of grilled squid his female companion forced him to eat, Leo hadn’t eaten or drunk anything.
Later, his female companion went to the bar and ordered two Margaritas, but both were for herself. She even got a refill.
Leo didn’t go to the bar to drink either.
But then he looked around. At that moment, his subordinate was in his four o’clock position, without making any eye contact.
After that, Leo went to the bar and ordered a Margarita, specifically instructing the bartender to fill it halfway, leaving the top half of the glass empty.
Then Leo walked back to his female companion, first holding up the glass and examining it before handing it to her.
He was using the glass to observe his men!
What a terrifying guy!
The cold feeling in the middle-aged man’s heart gradually receded like a tide, replaced by a sense of excitement.
How long had it been since he encountered such a keen, patient, and resilient opponent?
The middle-aged man was named Chase Horton. During his more than ten years with the William family, he had effortlessly handled various underground tasks, dealing with many shady matters for them.
Chase’s lips curved into a smile as if he had found a toy that excited him greatly.
The night sky returned to its dark blue color as the fireworks dissipated, leaving a pungent smell of gunpowder in the square.
The previous explosions seemed to have affected everyone’s eardrums, making their voices louder.
“Retreat!” Chase issued the command without moving his lips, only his throat moving up and down.
Then he raised his coffee cup towards Leo’s direction as if saluting his yet unaware opponent.
At this moment, the wooden stairs outside the terrace made an almost inaudible creaking sound. A seductive woman in a purple dress swayed her hips as she walked up.
She was wearing high heels but made no sound on the wooden steps.
Chase turned and sat down, smiling at the woman. “Violet, not leaving with Lander?”
“That kid thinks he’s something special. He was discovered long ago and still doesn’t know it. I don’t want to expose myself by staying with him!”
Violet Aster sat down. Her dress was tightly wrapped around her body, and as she sat, her chest heaved like waves, quite spectacularly.
Chase ignored it, tapping his fingers on the table, frowning slightly as if deep in thought. After a while, he asked, “What do you think of that kid?”
Violet lazily leaned against the table but straightened up slightly at Chase’s question, showing an inexplicable expression. “That person… is very impressive!”
After saying “very impressive,” Violet seemed at a loss for words.
After a while, she continued, “Judging by his reaction, I almost suspect someone leaked information to him, making him wary.”
“He probably doesn’t know about our existence yet. The boss told me he’s not an ordinary person.”
Chase’s words made Violet raise her beautiful eyebrows.
“So what do we do next?” Violet asked.
Chase thought for a moment and said, “Opportunities will come. Since it’s a hunt, we must have enough patience.”
The night’s madness finally ended. Leo drove out of the underground parking lot. Sophia got in the car, and they headed home to sleep.
Time flew by. Half a month later, Leo went to the capital as scheduled and arrived at Harmony Hospital.
In the ward, besides Nicholas, Jason, Jacob, Clara, Naima, and their children were all present.
Nicholas’s grandson Jasper shivered when he saw Leo and quickly hid behind his mother.
“Brother!” Xavier called out to Leo as usual, regardless of what others thought.
Clara’s eyes were full of hatred for Leo, but with Old Bloomer present, she didn’t dare act out. She just snorted lightly through her nose.
“Dr. Leo, you’re here.” Nicholas stood up from his chair with a cane.
Leo nodded at Nicholas in greeting and then looked at Jackson on the hospital bed.
Jackson was sitting up in bed and looked to be recovering well.
“Dr. Leo, you saved my life. I can’t thank you enough. If there’s ever a chance in the future, I will repay you!” Jackson said sincerely, turning his head to look at Leo.
“No need to be so polite,” Leo said with a smile.
Nicholas glanced around at everyone and said, “Everyone should leave now and let Dr. Leo perform Needlework on Jackson.”
With that, Old Bloomer led the way out of the ward.
After everyone left, Leo had Jackson lie down on the bed and began performing Needlework on him for the last time.
Over ten minutes later, the Needlework was complete. Leo put away his Golden Dragon Silver Needle and said, “Jackson, your physical condition is excellent. You should be able to get out of bed in two days.”
Hearing that he could soon get out of bed made Jackson feel excited. For him, lying in bed was absolute torture.
“Jackson, can you tell me who hurt you?” Leo asked.
Jackson hesitated and said, “Dr. Leo, you saved me. I shouldn’t hide anything from you. But I’m a soldier and must follow orders. Please understand.”
Leo nodded and didn’t press further. After giving Jackson some advice on recuperating his body, he left the ward.
Nicholas was waiting in the hallway. When he saw Leo come out, he quickly stepped forward and asked, “Dr. Leo, how is it?”
“No problem at all. Jackson should be able to get out of bed in about two days.”
“That’s great! Dr. Leo, you saved my son. Please accept my bow!” Nicholas said as he prepared to bow to Leo.
Leo quickly reached out to stop Nicholas. “Old Mr. Bloomer, that’s really unnecessary. You’re putting me in a difficult position.”
“Dr. Leo, thank you!” Jenna also stepped forward to thank Leo with a grateful expression.
“No need to be so polite. Treating patients is just my duty,” Leo said with a wave of his hand.
