Upon entering the living room, Chris Shelby encountered Juliette. Juliette, with a smile, said, “Brother, I just got a call from Master saying his daughter Seraphina is staying here, right?”
Just moments ago, Archer Wintersong had called Juliette to tell her that he had come to the East Coast and found his long-lost daughter Seraphina. He left Seraphina on the East Coast, hoping that Chris Shelby and his siblings would take good care of his daughter. Hearing that the Master had come to the East Coast and then left, Juliette’s face fell with disappointment.
However, the news that the Master’s daughter was here lifted her spirits again. After all, Seraphina was Archer Wintersong’s daughter, and Juliette, as his apprentice, was naturally delighted.
Chris Shelby gave a wry smile and said, “Stop there, Seraphina is taking a shower in the bathroom. Esther just ran into Seraphina by accident, and they misunderstood each other.”
“Oh!” Juliette exclaimed, surprised by such an event. Chris Shelby looked at Juliette and pleaded, “Juliette, could you please go and clear things up with Esther? Just say it was all a misunderstanding.”
“Alright!” Juliette nodded and then approached Esther. “Esther, you misunderstood. The woman in the bathroom is my master’s daughter, and she’s staying here for a while.” Hearing this, Esther’s expression softened slightly. However, she still huffed and remained silent.
“Mr. Shelby!” At that moment, Seraphina, having finished her bath, emerged from the bathroom. She was dressed in a white dress, looking somewhat innocent and cute.
Seeing Seraphina, Chris Shelby’s face inadvertently showed a hint of embarrassment. “So, you are my master’s daughter, Seraphina?” Juliette walked over with a smile and said, “I’m Juliette, your father’s apprentice. Nice to meet you!” Seraphina responded with a smile, “I often hear my father mention you, saying you are the sister of today’s Amerosia Master William. I’m glad to meet you!”
Seeing Juliette and Seraphina getting along well, Esther, as the hostess, couldn’t be too cold. After all, Seraphina was Chris Shelby’s master’s daughter, and Esther had to show some respect for Chris Shelby’s sake.
Esther approached, her face expressionless, and said, “Hello, I’m Esther, Chris Shelby’s wife!” Seraphina, with a smile, replied, “I’ve heard from my father about Mr. Shelby’s beautiful wife. Seeing you today, you truly are stunning.” Then, turning to Chris Shelby, Seraphina added, “Mr. Shelby, you are really fortunate to have married such a beautiful wife.”
“Huh?” Seeing this, Chris Shelby was somewhat speechless. This Seraphina really knew how to act; he wondered where her father had found her. At that moment, Chris Shelby detected a faint scent of gunpowder in the air. Clearly, the first meeting between Esther and Seraphina wasn’t very pleasant.
Especially as a woman, Esther instinctively felt a sense of danger emanating from Seraphina, as if she were a seductive siren.
Seeing this, Chris Shelby felt helpless. Recently, just as Marie and Ava had left the villa to study, Seraphina had arrived. It seemed he was truly doomed to charm, always surrounded by beauties.
At this point, a strange tension filled the villa, even Juliette sensed that something was amiss. Chris Shelby felt a headache coming on; he could imagine that with Seraphina moving into the villa, his days would not be easy.
“Ah!” Chris Shelby shook his head, sighing helplessly. He could only wait for his master to return and take Seraphina away. Seraphina was a real troublemaker, not an easy person to handle. Who knew what would happen if she stayed in the villa any longer?
Chris couldn’t help but mentally criticize his master, Archer Wintersong. Having Juliette over before had turned his home upside down. No sooner had he settled things with Juliette, than Seraphina arrived. When would this ever end?
Out of options, Chris took a cold shower to calm himself down. After his shower, he returned to his room. Just as he was about to open the door, he found it locked from the inside. “Darling, open the door!” he called out. “Why should I? Find somewhere else to sleep tonight, don’t come in here,” came the reply from inside. “Why?” he asked. “Why? Don’t you know?” No more sounds came from the room after that.
Chris knew Esther was really angry with him. After all, he had let Seraphina stay in the villa without Esther’s consent, which was indeed a mistake. But what could he do? Seraphina was his master’s daughter; he couldn’t just kick her out.
Helpless, Chris turned and walked away, hoping Esther would cool down by tomorrow so he could explain things properly. Fortunately, the villa had many rooms; otherwise, he would have ended up sleeping on the couch tonight.
Chris randomly picked a room and lay down. At one o’clock in the morning, the villa was extremely quiet; everyone was asleep. Suddenly, a figure silently appeared in Chris Shelby’s room. It was none other than Archer Wintersong’s daughter-Seraphina!
She tiptoed to Chris’s bedside, staring intensely at him as he slept. Seraphina, indeed Archer’s daughter, had other identities and purposes for staying on the East Coast.
She had heard from her father that Chris Shelby was a martial arts prodigy. Most importantly, she knew about the Dragon Emblem fragment on him. The Dragon Emblem fragment, known throughout the Amerosian martial arts world, contained secrets of the third step of martial arts mastery, a treasure sought by all practitioners.
Carefully, she began her search. Suddenly, Chris’s eyes slowly opened. With a half-smile, he asked, “Seraphina, what are you looking for so late at night?”
“Ah!” Seraphina, caught off guard by his sudden awakening, screamed. She quickly reacted, turning to flee. Just then, Chris grabbed her arm. “Leaving might not be so easy!” With her balance lost, she uncontrollably fell into Chris Shelby’s arms. Instantly, a wave of his masculine scent enveloped her, causing her heart to race.
