Chapter 1113

Book:Surprised With Her Real Identities Published:2024-10-27

Franklin’s eyes were downcast as he extended his long arm to gently pull the woman beside him into his embrace.
Sylvia pressed her lips tightly together, her delicate hand quietly moving behind the man to pinch the soft flesh at his waist with a fierce twist. Her charming face wore a smile, but her eyes were filled with anger and resentment.
“Don’t think that just by hugging me, I won’t be mad.”
“Be good, don’t make a fuss,” Franklin said indulgently, lightly tapping the woman’s perky nose. He moved the mischievous hand from behind him to the front and planted a kiss on it as light as a dragonfly touching water. Noticing Isaac’s somewhat solemn expression, he felt unusually pleased.
He tightened his possessive grip on Sylvia’s slender waist. “Now you know, don’t you? I was just afraid you’d worry.”
Seeing his possessive demeanor, Isaac narrowed his eyes at the man’s obtrusive hand.
He opened the food box he had brought, interrupting Franklin and Sylvia’s interaction. “Have some fish. I brought it specially from Cloud Restaurant. Their seafood is very fresh.”
“I don’t like fish, nor do I like its taste. Let’s have something else,” Franklin said bluntly, not giving Isaac any face.
His words made Isaac frown immediately. Unhappy, he watched as Franklin reached out for an orange and handed it to Sylvia. “Honey, I want to eat this.”
Sylvia helplessly glared at him and began peeling the orange.
Their intimate behavior was very eye-catching.
As Sylvia lowered her head to peel the orange, Franklin’s lips curled up. He took a sip of water from the bedside table and looked at Isaac’s stiff expression. “You should go back now. Don’t disturb our rare reunion.”
The implication was clear: Isaac was a third wheel.
Isaac almost choked on his breath but quickly put on a standard gentle smile, looking every bit the refined gentleman.
It made people want to take another look.
“Franklin, you’re being too distant. I came specifically to visit you. Seeing that you’re in good spirits puts my mind at ease,” Isaac said with a smile. “Dad is also very worried about you and has entrusted me with investigating the assassin.”
Franklin raised his eyes slightly to look at Isaac, exuding an innate aura of dominance.
His gaze was cold. “What did you say?”
“Franklin, rest assured, I will definitely find the murderer and the mastermind behind it,” Isaac said with a faint hint of sarcasm in his dark eyes. “You focus on recovering. Sylvia and I will leave now.”
Franklin sneered. “Sylvia is my wife. Why should she leave with you?”
He gently tightened his embrace around the woman in his arms, as if afraid she would run away.
Isaac’s gaze made him extremely displeased. His usually cold face was now filled with endless tenderness and a hint of pity. “Honey, stay with me a little longer, okay? I miss you so much.”
The rich masculine scent filled the air, and his deep black eyes focused intently on her. Sylvia couldn’t help but nod lightly. “Isaac, you should go back first.”
Hearing this, Isaac reluctantly said, “Alright, I’ll go back first. Call me if you need anything.”
He left the ward unwillingly and still felt annoyed when he got into his car.
He felt like Franklin had played him.
After thinking for a moment, he sent Sylvia a message. “I’ve always liked Franklin and wanted to get along well with him. But it seems he doesn’t like me very much. As his brother, I don’t know what to do.”
Sylvia was taking Franklin’s pulse when she received the message.
She frowned. Isaac’s words seemed harmless at first glance and didn’t directly speak ill of Franklin.
But upon closer inspection, one could see that his words were skillfully crafted.
Though he didn’t say it outright, every word implied that Franklin was petty and narrow-minded and treated his brother poorly.
This…
She had always respected Isaac as her godbrother, and their relationship had always been good.
But speaking ill of Franklin directly hit Sylvia’s nerve.
She felt a bit unhappy inside. “Isaac, you’re overthinking it. Franklin might just be in a bad mood because he’s sick.”
After saying that, she stopped looking at her phone and focused on taking Franklin’s pulse.
The pulse was fine, just a bit weak.
She withdrew her fingers and yawned delicately. “Your body is not seriously ill. With good care for a while, you’ll recover. Don’t be so careless and fall into someone else’s trap again, understand?”
How did he get so sick in just over a month without her by his side?
She sighed helplessly. “You…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Franklin suddenly pressed his thin lips down and gently kissed her red lips.
“I missed you.”
His hoarse voice carried magnetic emotions, making Sylvia blush instantly. “This is a hospital room.”
“So what if it’s a hospital room? Jasper is out; it’s just you and me…” Franklin’s eyes reddened slightly. “I might not see you for a long time after this. Honey, are you going to leave me wanting?”
His voice carried a hint of grievance. “I’m still sick…”
“Yes! You know you’re sick? Yet you still think about such things…” Before Sylvia could finish her sentence, her red lips were once again sealed by the man.
Perhaps because of the setting, Franklin was particularly passionate, and Sylvia found it very stimulating.
By the time they finished, it was already evening.
She nestled tiredly in the man’s arms. “You don’t seem sick at all…”
“Hmm, I can go another three hundred rounds.” The man wickedly bit her tender earlobe. “Want to go again?”
“No way!” Sylvia punched his solid chest lightly. “I have to go back now. Entering the transplant chamber requires thorough disinfection; it’s very troublesome. I can’t delay any longer.”
She dragged her sore waist as she sat up. The man’s large hand clasped her slender waist, his voice tinged with reluctance. “Even though we’re legally married, it feels like I can only have you for a short while each time instead of having you day and night.”
“When Jenna is discharged, it’ll be better.” Sylvia felt a bit sorry for him and quickly kissed him on the cheek. “Be good; wait for me to come back. Take good care of yourself.”
Seeing that Franklin’s health was not seriously affected put her mind at ease.
She had heard that he almost suffocated from poisoning.
Fortunately, his life was not in danger.
Franklin looked at her soft hair against her delicate face, her cherry lips opening and closing as she spoke. The room was filled with her faint fragrance.
Franklin couldn’t help but pull her into his arms again and kiss those enticing lips.
“I really don’t want to let you go.” Sylvia pushed against his chest helplessly. “Franklin, don’t be willful. Jenna is just as important as you are; understand?”
“I understand. It’s because I understand that I feel even worse.” The man kissed her domineeringly for a while before reluctantly letting go of her. “Go on then; hurry up and leave before I do something I might regret.”
Sylvia quickly tidied herself up and left the ward swiftly. Outside the ward, she couldn’t help but look back with a hint of reluctance in her eyes.
Who would want to leave their beloved?
Who wouldn’t want to be together day and night?
But… She sighed softly and opened her phone to see several messages from Isaac sent an hour ago.
“Sylvia, I’m afraid Franklin dislikes me and that it might affect our sibling relationship.”
“If he really dislikes me, I’ll try to appear less often.”
These words…
Sylvia frowned slightly. “I’m preparing to enter the transplant chamber now, Isaac; don’t overthink it.”
Her reply was somewhat perfunctory. Isaac waited over an hour for such a brief response, almost smashing his phone in anger.
Damn it! Sylvia’s words clearly showed she was defending Franklin.
What was so good about Franklin that made her treat him like this?
Isaac’s face turned dark with anger; he wished he could end Franklin’s life right now!
Why hadn’t he died from poisoning a few days ago?
“Sylvia, could it be that he’s worried I’ll take you away?” Isaac sent another message unwillingly. “We’re siblings; how could I do such a thing? If I get a chance, I’ll explain it to him. He must be upset because we visited him together.”
Sylvia had reached the entrance of the transplant chamber when she received this message and felt exhausted.
She was annoyed but couldn’t afford to offend Isaac for now.
After all, they had been siblings for many years; recently, some of Isaac’s actions needed serious consideration.
“He probably isn’t like that; you’re overthinking it. I’m entering the transplant chamber now; it’s sterile here.” With that message sent, Sylvia stopped checking her phone regardless of what Isaac sent next.
It was meaningless.
She found it laughable.
Whether or not Franklin was jealous was their business as husband and wife.
Isaac meddling felt like overstepping boundaries.
After disinfecting herself thoroughly, Sylvia entered the transplant chamber where Jenna had already finished dinner and was reading a magazine in bed.
Hearing footsteps, Jenna sat up curiously looking at Sylvia. “Why did you take so long? Have you eaten dinner?”
Sylvia shook her head. “I’m not very hungry.”
Isaac’s antics had ruined her appetite completely.
“Do you want some water? Did you argue with Franklin?” Jenna asked curiously seeing Sylvia’s pale face. “Didn’t you two reunite after a long time?”
Absence makes the heart grow fonder; they should be happy together, right?
“No argument; don’t worry about it.” Sylvia tapped Jenna’s forehead lightly before pouring herself a glass of water to drink. “Just thirsty.”
