Tease

It was all too easy to fall into step behind Shane. Living this fantasy was becoming a second skin and I could feel myself slipping into it eagerly. This reality was more fun than it should be. Letting him do the things he did to me should have been harder. His firm grip on my hips was too warm, too comforting, too consuming.
I held onto him tightly and I wondered if it was so that I wouldn’t fall or if it was because I wanted to hold onto him? My feet still hadn’t returned to the ground from what he’d done to me in the pizzeria. My heart twisted but also soared. I didn’t know whether I should be this happy or if I should be wracked with guilt.
I didn’t let myself question, wonder, or spiral. I pushed the guilt aside and swallowed down my conscience. Tonight was not the night to wallow. I was going to be wild and reckless. Was this the place to let loose? No, probably not. Was this the best time? Absolutely not.
Shane sat in front of me, his broad shoulders and firm back were all too inviting. I pressed my nose into Shane’s warm back. Inhaling, his husky scent filled my nostrils. The cold wind whipped against my shoulders and my legs felt like ice as we headed back.
As the packhouse came into view, I realized I was excited. He had something planned and I didn’t question it. The warm feeling inside of me bubbled and threatened to explode. Today had been a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Just a bit of kindness from him and I broke. My inner voice scoffed at me but I couldn’t find it in me to care. Could I not have one day to slip into the fantasy?
We came to a stop and I shivered from the cold Shane hopped off first. He faced me, his hands sliding down my arms and gripping my hips. He lifted me up first and my hands instinctively went to his shoulders. My body slid down his hard one and my core clenched as metal pressed through his shirt. A delicious tingle swept through me. When my feet were on solid ground, I looked up at him.
His dark curls swayed in the light breeze, the glow from the moonlight lit up his features, and his gaze was dominating as it claimed me in their tracks. His arms wrapped around my hips and I closed my eyes as he leaned down. My lips parted and a shiver crawled up my spine when I felt his lips by my ear.
“You’re offering yourself up to me on a silver platter and all I want to do is feast on you. You’re so responsive to me and it’s making it hard not to take you right here over the motorcycle,” Shane said, his voice husky.
My eyes flew open and I found a cocky expression on his face. There was a look in his eye that resembled a kid in a candy store. It was just told he could pick out whatever he wanted. The look bordered on awe, excitement, and madness.
“I was not,” I huffed.
“Oh,” Shane groaned as he leaned in. “But I think you do. I think you know exactly what you do to me, Ady. I think you like the idea of me bending you over this bike, don’t you?”
I was lost for words. I’d been caught and my mind wasn’t thinking up the words that could redeem me fast enough. Another shiver ran up my spine and my peaks hardened against his chest. His eyes dipped, and a small smile pulled at the corner of his lip before he returned his attention to my eyes.
“Such a tease,” he murmured.
I couldn’t help how my body reacted and I wasn’t going to apologize for it. Especially when he was practically stabbing me in the stomach. I wanted to ask him if he was going to kiss me but he didn’t. I didn’t try to explain the disappointment I felt, I wasn’t going to pretend I didn’t feel for him. I knew I did.
Shane stepped back, his hand rested on the small of my back as we headed into the packhouse. My mind and focus were on him as he led me forward. When I remembered we were headed toward my surprise, I started to wonder what it was. It couldn’t be food, or a snack, we had both already. I’ve received so much from him in the last two days that I can’t think of anything else.
His stride was full of purpose as we walked and I swear I could feel a change in the air. Thankfully I was wearing shoes and could keep up without tripping all over myself. The hallway was long and I was confused as to why we were heading this way. We were heading toward where the room was designated for meetings. Was the surprise a meeting with someone? Mavy maybe? I still hadn’t had the chance to ask him about her. I should have asked at dinner.
When Shane stopped a few doors before the meeting room, my heart was hammering in my chest. We were standing outside the door that would lead us down into the dungeons. This is where they tortured prisoners, rogues, and members who had committed a crime.
The only ones allowed down there other than the staff were the ones dishing out the punishment. The Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and select Deltas. We did everything we could to avoid having to go down here.
Thankfully, during my time here, I didn’t have to go down there. Now that I stood outside the door with Shane, I was worried about what I would find on the other side. He tugged on my hand and I looked up to find him staring at me.
“Let’s go.”
