Adea
“I didn’t just want your body or your lips around my cock. I’ve wanted you for years, every fucking part of you. I didn’t go about it about the right way in the beginning, I know that but… I’ve never really done things the right way, have I? I’ve wanted you to be my person, My Luna. Like I said, I’m in no rush and I mean that.”
His eyes remain on the view outside and I’m thankful for the chance to sort my thoughts and fix my face. Shane has been full of surprises since I returned. I hate to admit it but I’ve been caught off guard more times than I can count.
“I don’t think you know how long I’ve waited for you to come home,” Shane murmured.
His broad shoulders, muscular arms, and hulking figure were as still as a statue. The sun was almost completely set and the remnant of a glow from the sunset surrounded him making him look like an angel. If I didn’t already know him so well, I’d believe it. His skin glowed and his hair fell almost majestically.
“I’m not sure if you can see it but I had a trail put in for you. I had it started the day after I took over. It’s not finished yet but it should be by the end of the month,” Shane said. Even though he turned his head to face me while he talked, his gaze was distant as if he was talking more to himself than to me.
He motioned me forward with his hands and I slowly made my way over. I remained quiet but my eyes looked toward the forest in front of us. I did notice the cement trail that led into the forests. It wasn’t until I was by his side that I stopped.
“I used to watch you run through the woods. On the rare times when you would sneak out at night, I sometimes got to see you dip into that little pool out there.”
It had been a magical place for me. It felt like it had been my little secret, a place I could escape to. Now, I almost scoffed at the thought. I guess I’ve always been foolish. I actually thought those few moments of time were my own. Was I ever alone? Or was Shane always there?
I used to love the story, even now as I stared out the window at it, it held a special place in my heart. My day had been filled with cleaning and cooking. Running through the woods was what I would look forward to.
I wasn’t sure if I should be creeped out by the fact that he was always by my side or touched by the fact that he had the trail built for me. Maybe I was stuck between being creeped out and touched.
My eyes had been so focused on the view. I didn’t hear or see him move. Shane was behind me, his chest pressed to my back. His arms wrapped around my waist and he pulled me in tight. His head dipped into the curve of my neck. For someone who had caused so many problems in my life, his embrace was too warm and I was too comfortable in it.
“Yes, I was a bit of a stalker but before you get mad, I left you alone in the mornings. I only followed you out there at night. I didn’t want you to run into any danger.” I don’t know why I thought this was funny. Maybe it was because he was the most dangerous thing in my life. I decided to focus on the fact that he was always there. His breath is warm against my neck and a shiver runs down my back.
“Now that you’re here. I don’t want to rush into it. As much as I do want you wrapped tightly around me. I have other things in mind.” Thank Goddess for that.
“Like?” I asked.
“I want to take you out.”
“What?” I asked.
I almost got whiplash as I turned my neck to face him. I was already reeling from the fact that Shane didn’t want sex with me. Okay, wait, that is a lie. I was reeling from the fact that he wanted more than sex with me. He stared down at me mischievously as if he was enjoying seeing me shocked or appalled. Maybe it was a mixture of both. “Let me get this straight… are you… are you asking me out on a date?”
Shane didn’t smile but his eyes lit up. His hands expertly twirled me around until I was facing him. My head was tipped back, my back was arched, and I had to lift my chin to look up at him.
“I know, it’s an honor for you. The Great Alpha Shane has asked Adea Biscoff out on a date,” Shane said with a straight face. If I didn’t know him, I would have thought he was serious. He was actually cracking a joke. He hadn’t told a joke since… not since he used to harass me. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to laugh or hit him in the face.
“Come on, you know you wanna,” Shane said teasingly.
“I don’t know… You’re kind of a dick,” I shrugged. “And I know you’re used to girls who like that sort of thing but I do not.”
In a flash of movement, Shane gripped my wrists tightly in one hand, the other pushed me until my back was against the window and my arms were held above my head. This was oddly familiar and I felt a sense of deja vu. Where my back was cold, my front was warm, hot even as Shane pressed up against me.
He had kicked my foot out and he’d filled the gap between my legs. His chest was hard against my cheek and the large bulge in his sweats pressed against my belly. Shane’s breath was hot and heavy in my ear.
