“No! It can’t be!… it’s not possible!” Kimberly muttered as her whole body shook uncontrollably.
“He can’t do that to me. He must be lying. No! This can’t happen to me. I can’t be pregnant for a driver, Jaxon is just pulling my legs. He must be joking.” She was in tears as she kept shaking her head in denial.
She refused to believe that her well-thought-out plan went wrong. Everything was working out in her favor so what went wrong?
Ruby felt her blood boil in anger. The hurt and betrayal burned like acid in her veins, her hands curling into fists of rage as she relived the moment of discovery.
She had called her husband a liar and supported her sister blindly only to find out that she had been used and betrayed.
She felt like a fool, her heart twisted into a hard, cold knot of resentment.
“I can’t be pregnant for a lowlife. This is not how this was supposed to play out. Jaxon is supposed to become mine.” Ruby felt bitter as each word that came out of Kim’s mouth reminded her of the stupid faith she placed in her only to end up being betrayed.
Ruby’s hand moved with a swift, practiced motion, the sound of flesh slapping against flesh ringing out like a gunshot in the silent room. Kimberly reels back, the sting bringing her out of her daydream. Her face flushed with shock and humiliation as she stared at Ruby.
“Thank you, Kim. Thank you for being such an amazing sister and gracing my home with your presence and destroying my marriage. Thank you for chasing after my husband and destroying all that I had worked hard to build… you must be very happy now.” Ruby’s hand trembled with the adrenaline of fury, her eyes flashing with a cold, hard glint of hurt and betrayal.
She still couldn’t believe that her own sister would do that to her. After all that she had passed through just to make sure Kim was happy, well-fed, and healthy, this was how she chose to repay her.
She felt like she had wanted her whole life to provide for an animal. A wolf in sheep’s clothing that had been waiting for the right moment to attack her.
“I trusted you! I trusted you so much and made you a priority! I provided for you and made sure you never lacked anything. I gave you a life. I made you what you are today and this is how you choose to repay me? By drugging my husband? By snatching all that I had? I thought you were my sister!” Ruby angrily ranted. Kimberly glared at her with so much hate as she held her hurting cheeks.
“I didn’t do a single thing! I just wanted to have a turn. Why did you have to get all the good things while I wallowed in the shadows? I look better than you! I’m more fashionable so why did you have to get the rich man while I battled with the leftovers?” Kimberly angrily shot back. She had no feelings or remorse.
“Besides, you destroyed your home with your own hands! I never asked you not to trust your husband, you did that on your own. She took my words over his and proved just how fragile and gullible you were… you are nothing but a pathetic fool who got lucky.” Kimberly scoffed.
Ruby felt like her heart was being pierced repeatedly as she listened to Kimberly’s insults. She was right, she had destroyed her home with her own hands.
“If all it took was looks and luck you wouldn’t be in the predicament you are in today. You are pregnant with my driver’s bastard. You are carrying a child with no roof over your head or money. How will you survive? It will give me so much pleasure to watch you suffer for your misdeeds.” Ruby angrily growled.
“Who said anything about me not having a roof over my head? I am staying in this house with or without your consent, Ruby and I am pregnant with your husband’s child!” Ruby shook her head in annoyance. She couldn’t believe how one could be so stupid and thick-skinned. How can one be so shameless?
“I think I have been more than patient with you. It’s time you left this house or I’ll make you regret ever being born as my sister.” Ruby coldly said.
“You would do no such thing, Ruby. You cannot throw me out of this house. It belongs to my baby’s father and soon it will be mine as well.”
Kimberly angrily replied and Ruby felt like she might commit murder.
She closed her eyes and took deep breaths to calm her nerves. She didn’t want to do what she might end up regretting afterward.
“Choose Kim, it’s either you walk out of this house on your own or we do it the hard way and I can’t guarantee you not getting hurt.” Ruby folded her arms and glared at her coldly.
“Hard way really? What can you possibly do to me? And I have told you already. I am not stepping a foot out of this house; it is mine as much as it is yours, and no amount of threats will make me leave.” Kimberly angrily growled. She walked up to Ruby and angrily hit her shoulder as she walked past her and sat on the couch.
“Ruslan!” Ruby angrily shouted as she heatedly glared at Kimberly.
“Yes ma’am.” Ruslan politely said as he stood before her. He could feel the tension in the air and the hair on his body stood up as Ruby looked at him with anger clearly visible on her face.
“Throw her out of this house. I want her and all her properties gone in the next two minutes, and if I ever see even her shadow near this house, you will pay for it.” Kimberly’s eyes widened as Ruslan walked up to her without saying a word and roughly grabbed her off the couch.
He started dragging her out of the house and Ruby watched with a satisfied glint in her eyes.
“No! You can’t do this to me! This is my house! Leave me!” Kimberly screamed as she tried to wiggle out of Ruslan’s tight hold.
He pushed her outside the gate and sent the maid to pack her clothes. Kimberly angrily kept hitting the door and Ruslan ran his hand through his hair in anger as he felt a headache coming up.
The maid came back with a big box and Ruslan angrily threw it over the gate.
Ruby fell down on the floor as tears flowed like a river, her sobs shaking her body like a leaf in the wind. Her heart is shattered as she remembers the harsh words she threw at Jaxon.
How could she betray him in such a brutal way? She picked up her phone and dialed his number but it went straight to voicemail.
She tried over and over again as she sobbed but it kept ringing without an answer.
She dropped the phone beside her as she cried. Her tears were an apology, a plea for forgiveness, but the damage had already been done, and Jaxon was gone.
