A few men in police uniforms walked in. Their leader took out his police badge. “We’re from the Vice Squad. Someone reported some illegal business here.”
Morphy halted his steps. He turned around and his glacial eyes fell on Casper Yang’s face. He saw that the man had not been expecting the police to come. His face was pale with fright.
Morphy slowly withdrew his eyes and a mocking sneer appeared on his thin lips. Tonight, this “Paradise on Earth” would vanish from Benin.
The police who came searched every corner of the private room. Morphy and Casper Yang were taken downstairs.
The formerly bustling and noisy bar was now very quiet. Only the colorful lights were still flashing.
More than a dozen policemen surrounded this group of people. Some looked frightened while others glared fiercely at the policemen.
“Morphy.”
As soon as he saw Morphy walk over, a policeman went up to greet him.
Seeing the man approach, Morphy finally showed his first sincere smile of the evening. “Tristan Xing.”
Tristan Xing smiled and punched his shoulder. “Why are you here, pal?”
“I have a date here with someone,” Morphy replied placidly.
“A date?” Tristan Xing frowned. “Even if you have one, you shouldn’t be meeting in this horrid place.”
From his words, one could hear how much Tristan Xing disdained the club.
Morphy smiled and said meaningfully, “It’s just this once.”
“It’d better be once only.” Tristan Xing glanced at him angrily. “If there’s a next time and someone else is in charge, you’ll be in trouble,”
“I’m innocent. I’m not afraid of false accusations,” Morphy said with a serious face.
Tristan Xing could not help but laugh. “Yes, you’re innocent and not afraid of false accusations.”
After that, Tristan Xing ordered his subordinates to search the club thoroughly while he himself raised his arm and put it over Morphy’s shoulder, walking out.
Seeing Morphy being so familiar with the police officer, Casper Yang could not resist the opportunity to ride on his coattails. He ran after Morphy, yelling, “CEO Shen, don’t go. You must help me by speaking up for me and my friends. There’s no illegal business going on in my clubhouse at all.”
When he heard his voice, Morphy stopped in his tracks. Tristan Xing beside him turned to look, frowning. “Hey, Morphy, you won’t speak up for that Casper Yang, will you?”
Morphy did not answer and Tristan Xing became anxious. “Don’t make me look down on you. Do you know what kind of a man this Casper Yang is?”
“I know.” Morphy glanced at him, then turned around, staring at Casper Yang near them.
The moment he saw him turn around, Casper Yang’s eyes lit up with hope.
Following that, he heard Morphy’s calm voice. “Manager Yang, since there are no criminal activities in violation of the law here, let them search. If you’re innocent, you won’t fear their accusations, right?”
After that, he turned around and left without looking back.
Tristan Xing was stunned, rooted to the spot. By the time he reacted, Morphy had long gone. He glanced at Casper Yang and then hurried after Morphy.
Casper Yang’s face was as pale as a sheet. He knew that everything was beyond hope. There would be no way out for him.

Once out of the club, Tristan Xing’s eyes searched for Morphy’s presence everywhere. He finally found him standing next to a black SUV.
He quickly walked over and patted him heavily on the shoulder, saying jokingly, “I thought you had no principles and wanted to speak up for Casper Yang.”
Morphy gave him a cold look. “Do I look like someone with no principles?”
Tristan Xing raised his eyebrows and did not answer. Instead, he changed the subject. “Why did you get Xavier Chen to call me?”
Morphy turned and gazed at the signboard “Paradise on Earth,” still flashing. He curved his lips. “There shouldn’t be such sordid clubs in Benin City. I am just trying to rid the world of criminals.”
Upon hearing this, Tristan Xing rolled his eyes unhappily. “Come on, others may not understand you, but I certainly do. You have never been a busybody and have always minded your own business, so why the sudden urge to ‘rid the world of criminals’? There must be some hidden reason.”
Morphy could not help but laugh. “Tristan Xing. I never knew you understood me so well.”
“Of course. Don’t you remember how many years I spent sleeping in the bunk below yours?” Saying that, Tristan Xing lifted his arm and put it around his shoulder. He looked very curious. “Tell me, why on earth are you doing this?”
Morphy glanced at him and then raised his head. Without saying anything, his gaze turned to the inky black sky.
