Lexis’s p. o. v
“So your name is Lexi?” The man called August asked.
I sat on the bed and glared at him.
Why was he still in my bedroom?.
Yes Whitney had told him to guard me but she didn’t ask him to stay in the same room. He could have stayed outside and away from my sight.
“You are pretty.” He said softly then smiled and gazed to the floor, his foot moving from left to right.
I couldn’t understand his actions so I quietly kept watching him.
When a few minutes went by, he looked up and met my eyes.
“You know, you look different from the first time I saw you.” He said then frowned when a loud cry came from outside.
He quickly rushed out of the room without a word as I sighed in relief.
I was uncomfortable around men. The only exceptions were Leomord and the twins.
I threw myself on the bed and raised my hand looking at my fingers sadly.
I really missed them a lot and I kind of felt lonely. I didn’t want to cry so I was going to stay strong.
It was them that didn’t come to see me off. Obviously they were very angry with me or they no longer wanted me because they felt betrayed.
“Are you thinking about me right now?” I whispered silently to myself then dropped my hand and closed my eyes for a second.
I had no idea I would feel this empty being away from them.
“He is bleeding to death, hurry up and call the healers.” August’s voice came through.
He sounded panicked and afraid for some reason.
“You don’t have to act this way. We all know his death will be for the greater good of all of us.” Whitney answered.
“You didn’t have to go this far!. I know he is an asshole and a jerk, but he is our friend. Have you already forgotten what we went through, the three of us!” He exclaimed.
Their voices were getting closer to my room.
“I remember fully well that’s why I gave him a quick death sentence.” She answered.
“You mean painful injury. And just to be clear, he is still alive and the warriors are attending to him.” He pointed out.
“Yeah right, he won’t make it past the night.” She answered and then opened my door.
I quickly sat upright then stood up and looked at her.
She was shirtless with only her bra on. Her skin and tied hair were covered in spurts of blood while one of her hands was entirely covered in blood.
Behind her stood Leomord and August.
“August, can you leave us?” She said calmly.
“But…”
“I said, leave us.” She ordered. This time with emphasis.
“Excuse me.” He said then stepped out of the room.
“What happened?” I quickly asked in concern.
She looked at her hand then smirked.
“I had a little chat with Ibuk so don’t worry. Everything is fine.” She answered.
I looked at Leomord who nodded in approval.
“You rest okay. I’ll go and take a bath with Leo. If you need anything, August will be outside your room guarding you.” She said,
“Okay.” I answered in a low tone.
She turned and walked out with Leomord, closing the door behind them.
I moved and went to the door, opening it, only to come face to face with August.
“Hey beautiful, where are you going?” He asked with a smile as I rolled my eyes.
It was annoying being called some weird name which wasn’t mine.
“Did Whitney hurt someone?” I asked seriously.
His smile instantly faded.
“Walk with me.” He said seriously.
I wanted to refuse but at the same time I wanted to know what happened.
“Okay.” I answered then stepped out of the room.
We walked in silence until we were outside the pack house. We were moving towards the border.
“You see, Whitney is a good warrior and general. She’s beautiful and very much respected in our territory. Most warriors wanted to claim her for themselves but they ended up failing badly because she was too dominant and very strong. They later decided to stay away from her and chose to just be admiring her from afar. Among those admirers was Ibuk, a warrior who was crazily obsessed with her.” He said then continued.
“Ibuk thought it was love, but we all knew it wasn’t. He chased everyone who looked at Whitney lustfully and threatened us all for no reason. He also jerked off her clothes and most things she touched. We thought his stupid obbessesion was okay as long as he didn’t harm our general but that’s where our mistake was, because you saw how he snapped that day and disrespected her mate. He later went on to try and have other warriors who liked her rebel against her when you guys were out of the territory. ” He said then stood still and faced me.
“I’m sure when Whiteny confronted him a few minutes ago about it, he became disrespectful, that’s why she had to hurt him. Lexi, our general can do a lot of things but she doesn’t kill without reason or orders.” He said seriously.
“I understand. And It’s not like I was scared of her after seeing her in that state, I was just concerned.” I whispered softly.
“You sure are beautiful and considerate.” He said then took a step closer to me.
I was about to warn him off when I picked up a familiar scent.
I looked forward, waiting with a rapid beating heart to see if my mates were close by.
August growled loudly then pushed me behind him when two black, motorcycles came into view.
“Lexi, stay behind me, we have intruders.” He said loudly as the motorcycles got closer.
When they stopped a few meters away. I waited patiently for the drivers to take their helmet off.
I knew who they were, I just wanted to be sure.
They got off their motorcycles and looked at each other, then they took off their helmets together.
I quickly ran to them without a second thought.
“Lexi no!” August growled loudly but I cared less.
I jumped into Ryan’s arms with tears as he held me close.
“Oh wow, this is unexpected.” He said huskily.
I pulled back and quickly ran Into Evans arms sobbing.
“I thought you didn’t want me anymore.” I cried.
Ryan moved closer and rubbed his hand against my back gently.
“Why the hell wouldn’t we want you when you are our mate?” He asked as my sobs got louder.
“You are ours and that will never change.” Evan whispered then rested his head against mine while the beautiful tingles spread throughout my entire body.
