Amelia’s p. o. v
I was nervously standing in my bedroom waiting for Ian to come back with news from the pack clinic.
After that conversation we all had about Lexi, I went to do a blood test at the pack clinic and a few days went by easily.
Yesterday when the doctor asked me to come over with him to see the results I pretended to be tired. Ian being the understanding mate that he is let me be.
I would have done the same today but Ian wasn’t going to take it. He decided to go for the both of us and that came as a relief at the same time it scared me.
I quickly turned and looked at the door when it opened and he walked with a sealed envelope in his hand.
He had a calm expression on his face but also looked very tired while I was silently panicking.
“Keep calm.” Aurora growled at me.
“What did she say?” I quickly asked, ignoring her.
“A few things about your health.” He answered, then looked at the envelope with a cold expression.
“Also this is for you.” He said seriously.
I looked at it for a second then back at him and shook my head.
“I don’t have the strength to open or read the envelope.” I answered honestly.
“Fine.” He murmured then ripped it open.
He pulled out the report and looked at it seriously.
I clenched my hands with a rapid beating heart and waited for him to say something.
“Well…” He trailed off.
“Well what?” I asked in a whisper.
“You aren’t pregnant, you are just under stress and exhaustion.” He answered as I tensed.
“Stress and exhaustion?” I asked in a low tone.
“Yes.” He answered simply.
Everything in that moment felt different. I couldn’t hear a thing, only the sound of my loud beating heart. My chest was raising and falling and my breathing was labored.
A hand on my cheek pulled me out of my trance.
“Are you okay?” He asked as I opened my mouth to respond but failed.
“Amelia what’s wrong?” He asked loudly in concern.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered sadly then rubbed my eyes trying to get rid of the tears forming.
“Why are you apologizing?” He asked softly.
I held his hands in mine then forced a smile on my face.
“Next time I’ll make sure to get pregnant I promise.” I said sadly.
“You can’t promise me that because it’s out of our hands. The moon goddess is the one that blesses us with pups.” He answered softly then handed me the report.
When I looked at it, I widened my eyes in shock.
“Congratulations Luna, you are actually pregnant.” He said proudly.
I angrily raised my hand and slapped him hard across the cheek.
“What the hell!” I screamed on top of my voice.
“Ouch.” He whispered then rubbed his hand against his cheek
“I guess I deserved that.” He said playfully.
I gasped loudly and quickly moved my hand to rub his cheek gently.
“I’m so sorry my love I didn’t mean to hit you.” I said loudly.
I honestly acted out of anger for a second and now I was regretting my actions.
He smiled widely then wrapped his arms around my waist.
“I’m sorry too for teasing you that much. You were sad and upset over the fake news I had given you, I should have been more considerate towards you.” He apologized.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders then smiled.
I felt happy and very relieved over knowing I was really pregnant.
“Don’t even think about crying.” He warned softly.
“I won’t cry.” I answered seriously then tiptoed and kissed him lightly.
I wanted to cry so badly but I wasn’t going to do just that in front of him.
“Is this how couple’s act when they find out they will be having a pup soon?” He asked after I had pulled back from the kiss.
“I don’t think so.” I answered with a chuckle.
“Shall we celebrate then?” He asked cheerfully.
“Yes, that’s more like it.” I answered with soft laughter.
“What do you have in mind?” He asked.
“Well, I don’t know how we can celebrate this great news.” I answered honestly.
“How about going out for a date in the human territory?. That way we can as well share this good news with Felix and the other’s that side?” He asked.
“That sounds nice.” I answered while I stepped back.
“Good, then I’ll make plans for today, tomorrow we will leave for human territory.” He said, then grabbed my hand and kissed it.
“Thank you.” He whispered softly as I swallowed a lump in my throat.
“Go.” I whispered back softly.
He let go of my hand then walked out of the room.
Once I was sure he wasn’t anywhere near the bedroom, I fell to my knees and covered my face with my hands and sobbed loudly.
I couldn’t express my emotions well but I was beyond happy.
“Thank you moon goddess.” I cried.
The door burst open and Ian came rushing in.
“Amelia.” He called on top of his voice then knelt down beside me and pulled me in his arms.
“Babe are you in pain, did you hurt yourself?” He asked in a worried tone.
“I’m so happy.” I cried loudly.
He sighed in relief then wrapped his arms around me and rubbed my back gently as I sobbed for what felt like forever.
“Aurora, finally we are going to have our own family with our loving mate.” I said to her silently.
“Of course we are going to love our pup with our whole hearts and protect him / her from everything that might bring harm.” She answered proudly.
I pulled back and looked at him seriously.
He quickly wiped off his tears and smiled widely, shocking me.
I couldn’t believe he was crying with me over the news.
Ian wasn’t the type to cry that easily, seeing him in such a state showed how much he was looking forward to meeting our pup.
“Everything will work out, fine babe.” He whispered then stood up and extended his hand to me.
I took it and got to my feet then wiped off my tears as well.
“You can rest, or you can just come with me to my office to make plans for tomorrow. What do you say?” He asked.
“I would love that.” I answered honestly.
“Me too.” He said then walked with me to the door.
“Ian.” I called loudly.
“Yes.” He answered, then turned and faced me.
“I love you.” I said softly.
“I love you too.” He answered, then leaned in and kissed me deeply.
