Amelia’s p. o. v
My throat was dry, my heart was beating rapidly and I was feeling hot.
“Babe.” Ian called softly.
I turned and looked at him seriously.
We were standing in our bedroom, close to our bed.
“How?” I asked in a cracked voice.
Everything felt so unreal and so sudden.
“What do you mean by how?” He asked calmly.
Why was he so calm after what Lexi had said in front of everyone.
“How could she say that In front of everyone?. What if it’s all a blunt lie?. I asked on top of my voice.
“Do you know how embarrassing it would be for me if I wasn’t carrying your pup!” I exclaimed in fear.
He smiled softly then took my hands in his.
The tingles that spread throughout my entire body were stronger than anything I had ever felt.
My body relaxed as his scent filled the room. The fear I felt a second ago instantly vanished as well.
“Amelia, I love you.” He whispered softly as tears filled my eyes.
I loved him too but I was scared, very scared. Not because of the embarrassment I would go through, but of the disappointment that would come from him if I wasn’t pregnant. We talked about having pups and we both wanted one so much, if Lexi gave him hope and we later discovered that I wasn’t pregnant, it would make him sad.
“I want to be pregnant.” I whispered as a tear rolled on my cheek.
“Why?” He asked, then dropped my hand and pressed his hand against my wet cheek.
“Because I want to make you very happy.” I said sadly as tears continued to fall.
“And who said I wasn’t happy right now?” He asked seriously.
“No one did, but I just want you to be very happy.” I sobbed.
He pulled me in his embrace with a low sigh.
“Amelia, I am very happy right now just having you as my mate. I know my words won’t reach your heart, that’s why I want you to calm down and embrace our mate pull. Now that the curse is lifted, our bond has gotten stronger than before, you can feel my emotions and know that I’m not lying to you. Allow yourself to feel my emotions.” He answered.
I swallowed hard then took in a deep breath and released it.
When a few minutes went by in silence, I felt overwhelmed by a lot of different emotions which clearly weren’t mine. I could feel happiness, gratefulness, peace and appreciation.
“Can you feel them?” He asked softly.
I pulled back and looked at him with a smile.
“I do.” I answered in almost a whisper.
“So there is nothing to worry about. I am in love with you babe, with or without you bearing my pup. I love you a lot and that will never change. Everyone will understand too if you aren’t carrying my pup because Lexi is just a kid. And kids can sometimes bluff.” He said calmly.
“I know.” I answered softly then wiped off my tears.
“I love you too.” I whispered from the bottom of my heart.
“Thank you.” He said, then linked his hand to mine.
“We are lucky to have him.” I said silently to Aurora who just purred in approval.
“Now that you are feeling better, let’s go back and let everyone know that you are okay. You can as well say goodbye and come back here to take a bed rest if you want.” He said then turned to walk out.
“My love.” I called loudly to get his attention.
“Yes babe?” He answered.
“Can you escort me to the pack clinic?” I asked.
He stared at me in silence for a few seconds then nodded.
“Sure, when?” He asked.
“Now.” I answered.
“Now?” He asked on top of his voice.
“Yes, is that a problem?” I asked in concern.
“No it’s not…., Well we do have guests waiting for us right now. We just can’t leave them like that.” He answered.
I looked at him proudly then moved and wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
He really was a changed mate and Alpha. He paid attention to everyone and cared a lot over our well being. If it was back then, he would have obviously dragged me to the clinic to get tested.
“What’s so funny?” He asked when I chuckled softly.
“You are.” I answered honestly.
“What did I do?” He asked.
“Everything right.” I answered, then tiptoed and kissed his lips lightly.
“I was about to pull back when he deepened the kiss and wrapped his arms around my waist.
I responded to each and every movement of his tongue, letting him dominate mine the way he wanted to.
“Ian!” Neo called loudly at the door.
He sounded annoyed and pissed.
I pulled back and gazed into his eyes lovingly.
“Forget about him.” He whispered, making me laugh.
“No way. He won’t let this slide if we do.” I answered, then went to the door and opened it.
“Amelia, congratulations on your pregnancy.” He said cheerfully.
I nodded then glanced at Ian who was approaching us.
“Brother, I would like you to keep it down until we confirm that she is truly pregnant.” Ian said simply.
“Of course.” He answered.
“Thank you.” I said then walked past him and went back to the dining room.
When I walked in Toni quickly stood from her seat and met me halfway.
“Are you okay?” She asked in concern.
“Of course I am. A bit worried but fine.” I answered honestly.
Toni was like a sister to me and my best friend, I hated the idea of lying to her that’s why I always told her the truth.
“Everything will be okay, I promise.” She whispered softly.
I nodded then moved to the table with her by my side.
“I’m so sorry for leaving the room like that. It wasn’t my intention to make everyone uncomfortable, I’m sorry.” I apologized.
Whitney stared at me with her jaw wide open.
“Did I offend you the most, Whitney?” I asked sadly.
She quickly stood up and shook her head.
“No, not at all Alpha queen, I mean Amelia. Someone in your rank shouldn’t apologize to us like that.” She answered loudly.
I folded my arms and glared at her. She quickly shifted her gaze to the ground.
“What the hell do you mean by someone like me!. Didn’t I tell you that Aurora is the one who demands respect?. I am Amelia and I’m no different from you or Toni, we are like sisters and we are friends, so we should always be treating each other as equals.” I said on top of my voice.
“She is right.” Ian answered when he walked in with Neo behind him.
“I understand.” Whitney answered in a respectful tone.
“If you do then lift your head.” I ordered.
She looked up and faced me seriously.
“Now then, you and Uncle will stay here for a few days before you go back to the territory.” I said.
“Why?” Uncle asked.
“Because I would love to spend more time with the three of you.” I answered.
Uncle smirked then nodded.
“Sure dear. We would also love that.” He answered.
Ian stood next to me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
“It looks like I missed the toast. Can we do it again?” He asked as everyone happily stood up with their glasses in their hands for another toast.
