Lexi’s p. o. v
I sat on a couch, in an office eating cake. Besides me were Whitney and Leomord.
Alpha Ian sat on a chair behind his huge desk looking at me seriously while Amelia stood next to him with a welcoming smile on her face.
“Lexi, our Alpha would like to speak to you.” Whitney said softly.
I stopped eating and looked at him calmly.
When Leomord and Whitney had told me about this cursed pack, I thought the curse was made and put on them through a very powerful binding ritual. But now looking at him and a few pack members, I came to realize that the incantation spoken to bind them wasn’t that hard. All I had to do was say the exact incantation backwards.
“I’m sorry for summoning you Whitney and Uncle to come with Lexi on short notice. It’s just that my pack….”
“Has been cursed for a very long time.” I finished his sentence in a low tone.
“Yes and because of it my pack…”
“Can’t seem to sense who their mates are, right?” I asked calmly as Whitney looked at me with a cold expression.
“Yes. And not Only that, every night of the full moon I ….”
“Experience pain. You actually experience a lot of pain than anybody else in this pack.” I said cutting him off.
“Lexi, how did you know all that?. We never told you that last part.” Leomord asked strongly.
“Because I know what kind of curse is placed on this pack.” I answered honestly.
“Can you lift it or get rid of it?” Amelia asked then placed her hands together.
I looked at everyone seriously then smiled.
“Of course.” I answered as the Alpha sighed in relief.
“Tell me, what do you need in order to lift this curse?. Is it herbs, rare magical creatures or a book?. We have a friend by the name of Lee who could help us out in searching for…”
“That won’t be necessary. The curse placed can be easily undone by me, all I need to do is say the same incantation said by that witch backwards.” I answered simply.
The room went quiet and everyone was looking at me in disbelief.
“What, You don’t believe me?” I asked in disappointment.
“No, I do believe you Miss. But can you truly lift the curse that easily?” The Alpha asked seriously.
I moved the plate of cake from my lap and handed it to Whitney who quickly took it.
“The incantation will only take a few minutes.” I said while I stood up and took a few steps forward.
“And luckily I know a lot of incantations by heart.” I whispered then closed my eyes.
“First of all, you all need to close your eyes because the light and energy that will be released to lift the curse can blind you. Secondly, don’t speak to me or interrupt me in any way.” I instructed, then raised my hands sideways and made a circle with my thumb and index finger.
As I began saying the incantation backwards, I felt a slight heartache that followed by my stomach badly hurting, but that only made me continue as my voice grew louder.
The wind began to blow and I could feel myself rise from the ground.
A shiver spread throughout my entire body as I felt my energy begin to leave my body.
When I opened my eyes, a bright light covered the whole room.
After saying the incantation for the last time, I weakly fell to the ground as the light disappeared.
They all opened their eyes and looked at me.
“Lexi!” Whitney exclaimed then rushed to where I was and knelt down beside me, carefully helping me sit upright.
My breath was labored and I was sweating badly. My body was sore and in pain.
“Are you okay?” Leomord asked after I had leaned against Whitney’s shoulder who wasted no time in wrapping her arm around me.
He and the alpha were both standing and looking at me in concern.
“I am fine, just out of energy. It seems I had underestimated the spell.” I whispered huskily.
“Does that mean you failed to lift it?” The Alpha asked.
I could see sadness in his eyes.
I was about to answer when we heard loud screams outside of the pack house and chattering.
The Alpha and Amelia quickly rushed out of the office.
“Were you successful?” Whitney asked sadly.
“Of course I was successful.” I answered then held on to her free hand tightly.
I was beginning to feel dizzy and my vision was getting blurry.
“Tey, I don’t think she is okay.” Leomord whispered.
“I know.” She answered in a cracked voice then sniffed.
“No baby girl, don’t cry. She will be okay. I know who can help her.” He said loudly.
“But she looks weak and pale.” She said in a low tone.
“Don’t cry.” He warned strongly.
I closed my eyes and heard footsteps moving in the room.
Shortly I heard a clicking sound then the ringing of a telephone.
“Lee it’s me.” Leomord’s voice came through.
“We seriously need your help right now. I am at Alpha Ian’s pack in his office. Yes. I don’t care, just get here right now, it’s a serious matter of life and death.” He growled loudly.
“Just get fucking here now!. Portal or no Portal.” He spat.
I heard a sound of a breaking thing then a cold breeze swept past me.
“Where is the one dying?” An unfamiliar man’s voice asked after a few minutes of silence had gone by.
“Here.” Whitney answered, then sniffed again.
I heard light footsteps then someone’s hand grab mine.
“She’s a witch right?” The man asked.
“Yes.” Leomord answered.
“For such a young lady, her powers are pretty impressive.” He muttered under his breath then kept quiet.
After a few minutes went by, my body relaxed and the dizziness stopped. My breathing was stable and I felt so much better.
I opened my eyes and looked at the stranger in front of me. He was kneeling beside me with his hand still linked to mine.
I lowered my gaze and looked at our linked hand surprised, there was a dim light coming from between.
I was about to pull my hand away when he tightened his grip.
“I am sharing my energy with you so please stay still.” He said seriously as I held in my breath.
“Are you a warlock?” I asked using telepathy to test how strong his ability and gifts were.
“Yes kid.” He answered and then looked at me.
I breathed out then smiled happily while I slowly sat upright.
“Uncle thought you were dying. Why didn’t you tell him you just needed two day of rest to get back your full strength?” He asked loudly.
“Because I was in pain and I felt very weak. I couldn’t speak after lifting the curse of this pack.” I answered using telepathy.
He widened his eyes in shock then looked at Leomord.
“Uncle, where the hell did you get this chick!” He exclaimed.
Chick!. Me, a baby bird?.
“Why are you asking?” Leomord asked in concern.
“Because I want to adopt her.” He answered, shocking me.
“That’s not happening.” Whitney said on top of her voice.
I glanced at her then smiled. Her cheeks were covered in tears and she has a sad facial expression on her face
She quickly wiped the tears off with her hands and smiled back.
“He is just messing with you guys, I can feel it. Moreover, I am not going anywhere with anyone besides you guys.” I answered in an assuring tone.
“By the way, I’m Lee.” He said then dropped his hand from mine and stood up.
“I’m Lexi.” I answered.
He raised his hand and slowly moved it from the left to right then smirked.
“You really are strong. No regular witch or warlock could have easily lifted such a curse.” He said as I smiled widely.
The door opened and Alpha Ian entered with Amelia. He looked very happy and Amelia had a joyous smile across her face.
“What happened?” Leomord asked them.
“Apparently, most of our pack members have now felt the mates pull, while some have found their mates. They are so happy yet at the same time in shock over everything. That’s why there is a lot of noise outside the pack house.” Alpha Ian answered happily then moved and knelt in front of me on one kneel.
“Alpha, you can’t do this.” Whitney said loudly.
“I agree.” Leomord backed her up.
He raised his hand then dropped it, they both lowered their gaze to the ground.
“Lexi, thanking you for what you have done for my pack isn’t enough. How can we ever repay you?” He asked seriously.
I kept quiet and thought over his question for a few seconds.
“I would love to live wherever Whitney and Leomord will live. Also I would be grateful if you gave me a lot of snacks and meat to eat.” I answered seriously.
He frowned then cleared his throat.
“Is that all you need?” He asked in a doubtful tone.
“Yes.” I answered with emphasis.
He smiled then nodded.
“Consider it done. Also, I and my pack will forever be indebted to you. If there ever comes a time that you will need our help, we will gladly give it.” He said then stood up.
“Lee, how are you here?” Amelia asked when she went to his side to give him a hug.
“I used a portal.” He answered then pulled back from the hug with a soft chuckle.
“I was called here by Uncle, but now that my work is done, I’m going back.” He answered simply then looked at me.
“If you ever need anything, don’t hold back on telling Uncle to get to me.” He said using telepathy as I happily nodded.
