Uncle’s p. o. v
“Chase and Lee begin with the barrier. Jeannie, go out right now, uncle will be behind you. Felix and Aurora, you know what to do.” Alpha Ian instructed as Lee grabbed Jeannie’s hand and chanted a few words in an ancient language.
“You now have Aurora’s scent, the Alpha king won’t doubt that you are her.” He said, then closed the space between them and kissed her deeply.
I looked away and waited for her to pull back. When she did and called my name I quickly looked at her.
“Let’s go.” She said with a serious expression on her face.
“Sure.” I answered then followed her behind.
It had been long since I was in a serious battle. Although I wasn’t training everyday at the mansion, I made sure I was fit and ready for any attack that would come my way.
“Uncle.” She called softly once she was at the edge of the barrier.
“Yes.” I answered calmly.
“Please, whatever happens, make sure Lee lives his life happily.” She said softly then walked past the barrier before I could respond.
I quickly crossed too and looked around. The surrounding was quiet and I couldn’t pick up any weird or different scent.
As she walked ahead I could see how tense she was and uncomfortable.
“It will be alright.” I whispered softly.
“I hope so Uncle.” She answered then continued walking ahead.
A few minutes went by and there was no sign of anyone or any being close by.
She stopped in her tracks then turned and faced me.
“I don’t think they are around here, ” she said in a low tone.
I was about to agree when I heard a sound of a few rustling leaves ahead. I instantly stopped moving and frowned.
The scent that invaded my nose instantly made my heart beat rapidly, and a cold shiver spread throughout my entire body. It was a musky scent that somehow was mixed with roses. I hated roses yet the scent was exceptional. My wolf was howling something which I couldn’t hear and moving back and forth.
“Should we…”
“Shhh.” I whispered to Jeannie then walked past her.
“Stay put, don’t move.” I said and went to the bushes which were in front of me. The closer I got, the stronger the beautiful scent got.
Before I could part the bushes I was pushed down by a large white wolf which had leaped on me.
It was about to bite down on my shoulder when I grabbed it’s front legs pushing it away from me.
I quickly got to my feet and saw it laying on the ground with a low threatening growl.
I looked at my hands and back at it in shock. What the hell were the tingles I was feeling!.
As it got to it’s feet, it gazed at Jeannie then let out a loud growl. It was a warning for me to step aside.
“No I won’t, that right there is the Alpha queen I serve.” I responded seriously.
It growled again this time louder, before letting out a loud howl. It was calling the others and alerting them of where we were.
“Jeannie run!” I said seriously while my eyes were glued to the white wolf’s movements.
I could tell it wasn’t a regular wolf, it had a higher position. If my guess was right it was an alpha wolf. A fight between us wouldn’t go well for either one of us.
“But uncle…”
“Run damn it.” I yelled on top of my voice as I shifted into my wolf form.
She quickly turned and began running back to the shield. The Alpha wolf was about to rush towards her when I jumped on it, tackling it to the ground.
It got to it’s feet instantly and took a step back, surprising me.
I watched in shock as it took it’s human form.
A female stood there with a cold expression on her face staring at me. She had a healed scar across her left eye and her hair was dark red. Her built was impressive and her height was slightly shorter than mine.
“I don’t know who you are and I don’t give a fuck. All I can say is you are standing in my way.” She said seriously with an accent and that’s when I heard what my wolf was saying clearly.
“Mate.”
Yes, standing in front of me was my mate!.
How the hell was she my mate!. I was past the age of finding a mate and I wasn’t a teenager anymore. In my early thirties I still had hope of finding her, but once I past the age of forty I completely gave up and stopped looking. I was confused, shocked and I wanted to laugh at the face of the moon goddess for finding her now.
“Step aside, old man.” She spat, this time angrily.
I calmly shifted into my human form and glared at her.
“What the fuck!. Old man?” I asked in disbelief.
“Yes old man.” She answered with emphasis.
First of all she was a disrespectful bitch and secondly she wasn’t a teen either. So was she aiming to piss me off?.
“No, she’s acting like this because she’s standing on the enemy’s side.” My wolf answered sadly.
For a second I too felt sad but decided to compose myself. My family was way more important than her and I needed to protect them.
“I am here to protect my Alpha queen so I won’t step aside.” I answered calmly.
She brushed her hand through her long curly hair then pointed a finger at me.
“Look trash, I am being very reasonable with you and I do have a kind soul at times that’s why I am giving you this chance to walk away. If my master comes your way he will kill you in a second.” She spat furiously.
I chuckled mockingly then shook my head.
“So be it. If I die, then I die.” I growled loudly.
For a second I saw concern and worry in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by coldness when we heard loud howls and footsteps approaching.
“Then have it your way, fool.” She spat then turned into her wolf form.
I too turned into my wolf form and took my stance. Mate or not she was going down.
