Amelia’s p. o. v
I sat on a street bench with my arms wrapped around my body.
The roads were dark and only a few people were passing by because it was late at night.
I was starving, feeling cold, and very tired. When I had agreed to go through with Aurora’s plan I didn’t sign up to be homeless in human territory! It was the worst yet she still kept on insisting that it was for the greater good of our pack.
Damn her. I thought we were going to run far away and live okay, not as beggars.
“Are you stupid? For us to have food, clothes, and water we need money. I can make it on my own but you can’t, that’s why I am thinking thoroughly about what our next move should be, for now, let’s be happy beggars.” She answered.
I rolled my eyes and pulled the damn coat I had on tighter. Although I had arrived a few hours ago I couldn’t find something to eat.
“So where should we get everything?” I asked sarcastically.
“We need to find a job tomorrow.” She answered, upsetting me.
“Was this really your grand plan? If yes then it is fucked up and pathetic.” I spat seriously.
“What other plans did you have?” She mocked.
“How about going to Felix’s place and explaining the whole truth to her? She will understand why we left Ian?” I answered.
She kept quiet for a few seconds then huffed loudly.
“Do you realize that she is Ian’s friend?” She asked.
“I don’t care.” I answered honestly.
“She might tell our mate where we are.” She said strongly.
“That might be true but we still need that cheque to survive.” I answered and waited for her reply.
When she growled loudly in warning, I quickly stood up and looked around seriously.
“Run.” Came her command.
I didn’t think or ask why because I knew how she wanted to protect us. I found myself running at full speed ahead not caring to look back, for a minute I kept on running in all directions ignoring the human whispers I was hearing.
When I was pushed to the ground and pinned there I wanted to growl out in frustration but chose to keep quiet when I felt the beautiful tingles I had known for a very long time spread throughout my body.
The only thing that went into my mind was Ian.
“Are you trying to abandon me again?” He asked coldly in a labored breath before slightly moving from me and flipping me like I was nothing to face him.
I was breathing heavily and trying to understand how the hell he had found us. Aurora was there to make sure we weren’t followed or tailed, yet she couldn’t even do her damn job right!
“Ian,” I called in a breathless whisper.
“Don’t call me by my name, it’s Alpha to you.” He spat.
There and then I knew that I had blown away my chances of touching his heart. He was beyond angry with me.
I was grabbed by the hand tightly and forced to my feet.
“Walk.” Came his command.
I wanted to do as he had commanded but sadly I couldn’t. I stood still, not moving an inch.
“I said, fucking move mate!” He growled loudly, getting the attention of the humans around us.
Aurora pulled through and took partial control.
“No.” Came her reply.
I knew it was a clear challenge to him, after all, she was an alpha queen way above him and her words were absolute.
I tensed when his eyes turned that of Axel’s.
“I will make you move one way or another. Do you dare go against me?” He asked loudly.
We both understood at that moment that it wasn’t only Ian upset with us but Axel as well. We were somehow stubborn to Ian but when it involved Axel it was another issue. We respected him more than we did anyone.
“No,” I answered together with Aurora.
“Good, now move.” He instructed coldly.
“Do it,” Aurora whispered, then quietly retreated into our subconscious.
I shivered and swallowed hard. Knowing Ian, I was somehow scared to go back, there was no way he was going to let this slide.
“I said move.” He said again.
This time I willingly moved and walked to wherever he was taking me.
When I saw cars in front of us which had our pack warriors in it I sighed loudly feeling defeated.
“Was it necessary to bring the warriors along?” I asked.
He turned and faced me with a low growl. Axel had already stepped down and given back control to Ian.
“Don’t talk.” Came his response.
I kept quiet and decided to just do as he had instructed.
The warriors gave a low bow upon seeing us approach. I bit my lower lip and kept quiet, even when Ian opened the front door to his car and instructed me to go in.
I hesitated but did as I was told. He got in the car as well and started it without a word.
I glanced behind and noticed that Toni was there sitting next to Neo. They both couldn’t look at me or say a thing and that really did scare me a lot.
“Aurora, will he forgive us this time?” I asked in fear.
“I don’t know.” She answered honestly.
I turned and looked at him seriously. He was focused on driving and couldn’t spare me a glance.
“Ian,” I called softly then moved my hand to touch his free hand.
“Don’t you dare fucking touch me, you lost that privileged the moment you decided to leave and dump me for nothing.” He spat, stopping me halfway.
“I didn’t dump you alpha, I had my reasons, please believe me,” I said loudly then gasped when he stepped on the brakes stopping the car.
I grabbed the side of the seat and looked at him in fear. I was very terrified at how he had parked the car brutally. Was he trying to kill us all?
“Reasons you say, like what?” He asked loudly.
I took in a deep breath and released it.
“Calm down,” Aurora whispered.
I closed my eyes for a second then opened them, ignoring the aching of my heart.
“I’m sorry, I can’t tell you everything right now,” I answered honestly.
He leaned in and grabbed my jaw tightly, hurting me.
“I.. an,” I called out in pain.
“I regret confessing my feelings to you and for wanting you so bad.” He spat then crushed his lips against mine roughly for a second before pulling back.
“You were to be my slave and my breeder but I chose differently and fell for you. Wasn’t that enough for you to stay with me?” He asked softly.
In his voice I could feel the hurt and pain he was going through. It was all my fault that he was treating me like this.
How was I to explain everything on the road? I wanted to make him understand that I didn’t run away because of him, I had run away to keep him safe.
“You can’t even answer the fucking question can you?” He asked coldly.
“Not here.” I answered honestly.
He chuckled mockingly then started the car.
“You are dead to me.” He spat as tears filled my eyes.
