We ran in our wolf form following the tracks that Toni was leading. She was up ahead focused on the surroundings and any slight movements she could hear. Her wolf was very small compared to mine yet it looked strong-willed and very serious.
When she shifted in front of Axel, he immediately stepped back and gave me control. I reluctantly shifted as well and decided to go with whatever plan she had. Going against him would mean him putting me to sleep and I hated that.
As I ran beside my warriors, the ground slightly shook and the wind blowing through our fur felt like heavenly bliss. It had been long since I shifted and ran free in the woods. As much as I was worried about finding my mate, it felt amazing.
“We will find her,” Axel whispered softly.
Of course we were going to find her, who the hell did he think I was!. I never gave up on what I wanted and what was rightfully mine.
I quickly stopped running when she stopped in her tracks and shifted back to her human form.
I gave a low growl in warning, not pleased at her naked bruised small body.
She knelt down with her back towards us.
“I’m sorry alpha, we can’t go any further.” She said as I huffed then slowly shifted into my human form with ease.
“Why is that?” I asked seriously.
“Because that’s the human border ahead. If we do cross it, it will be risky in our true form.” She answered as I brushed my hand through my hair.
She was right, If we were to cross the human territory in our wolf form it would cause a lot of ruckus because our wolves were a lot bigger, nearly the height of a regular human being. Not to forget how us being naked in human form would only be worse.
“Are you saying that my mate is in human territory?” I asked seriously.
“Yes alpha, I am very sure that she is.” She answered.
“Fine, I’ll put my trust in you.” I said honestly.
“We will go back home for now to get the cars ready. When we reach, put on something warm because we are going to human territory.” I announced loudly then shifted into my wolf form and waited for her to shift back.
When she had done so, we went back to the pack.
Once we reached, I trotted into the pack house and shifted into my human form while going to my bedroom.
I quickly got in and went to the wardrobe putting on a pair of boxers, jeans, and a shirt.
I came out of the room quickly and I was about to walk out of the pack house then I stopped.
“Brother.”
Neo’s voice came through.
“Brother, I know that you can hear me well. I heard that our Luna ran away.” He said through our mind link.
I turned and walked to his room angrily.
The warriors guarding the door quickly gave a bow when I opened the door.
“Let it be the last time you tell Neo shit.” I warned them then walked in.
He sat on the ground with dried blood on his bare chest. I quickly moved closer and knelt down in front of him.
“What the fuck did you do?” I asked seriously while looking at the broken bed and couch. The floor was dirty and spread with broken wood and materials.
He lifted his hand and showed me, it was covered in his dry blood.
“I was going insane in here. I couldn’t stop thinking about the mate I had rejected, how you are my brother and that Nana is my mother. I wanted to rip my own heart out but I was too chicken to go through with it.” He said calmly, pissing me off.
“I did thrust my hand in my chest but…”
He cut his words and groaned in pain when I punched his face hard. My own fist was in pain but I didn’t give a fuck.
“What the hell Ian!” He exclaimed loudly then moved his bloody hand to his cheek rubbing there gently.
I stood up and looked down at him furiously.
“What!” He asked on top of his voice then frowned when a trail of blood rolled from his nose.
He slowly moved his hand and wiped it off.
“What the fuck man!” He yelled angrily then stood up and faced me.
“That’s for wanting to die without our mother’s permission.” I answered coldly. His expression instantly softened.
“You didn’t have to hit me that hard, you know.” He said in a low tone.
I kept quiet debating if I should talk normally or coldly like I did before.
“He is going through so much as well, being nice wouldn’t kill you.” Axel said silently.
“You deserve it and as my brother, you are supposed to stay strong and endure all the shit you are going through. I wouldn’t forgive you if you were to kill yourself. Never.” I said softly then cleared my throat uncomfortably.
He moved without warning and hugged me.
“Thank you for those words big brother.” He whispered as tears filled my eyes.
I moved my hands wrapping them around him. It was good knowing that I had a little brother despite it still feeling uncomfortable.
I blinked the tears back then pulled back and looked at him seriously.
“Anyway, I don’t have much time. I’ll tell the warriors to leave you alone and grant you your freedom. You can go back to your room and have something nice to eat.” I said seriously.
He smiled then shook his head.
“Brother, I’m happy that you are granting me my freedom right now, but I don’t want to go into my room and eat something nice like everything is okay. I mind-linked you because I wanted to ask you if you could let me come along to search for your mate. I might not be of use, but I’ll do my best.” He answered.
“See, he will always be on our side. It was because of Sherry that he became disloyal. If you ask me, I still trust Vision.” Axel said.
“Fine, you have fifteen minutes to take a bath and dress up.” I answered.
He smirked then punched my shoulder lightly.
“You know that I only need ten. I’m a warrior remember?, A very well trained one at that.” He answered pridefully.
I laughed softly then nodded. He still was my beta after all and my little brother.
