Amelia’s p. o. v
I looked at Toni who was fast asleep then at the letter which was on the table bed sadly.
“Do you think she will deliver this letter to Ian?” I asked Aurora in silence.
“It’s the least she could do after giving her a nice place to sleep in.” She answered calmly.
“Don’t say that, Toni is a good friend of ours,” I whispered, then tiptoed out of the room.
“She is your friend. Not mine.” Her cold response came.
I noticed how angry she was at me and everything that was going on, yet she still chose to leave the very person that made us so happy. How bad was the Alpha king? I had no idea but for Aurora to go this far meant the old man was dangerous.
“Are you sure Ian won’t find us?” I asked her seriously as I carefully looked around then walked out of the pack house.
“Ian is fast asleep just like most pack members are, the only ones awake at that time are a few warriors who are having a drink.” She answered.
“Okay,” I whispered, then rushed ahead without looking behind.
According to her, we didn’t need to carry anything to survive. She reminded me of how I still had the cheque I was given at Felix’s mansion. All we needed to do was find a place to rest and settle, then we were going to go back for it.
To me, her plan sounded stupid and lame, but then compared to mine it was a lot better.
My breath was slowly picking up the further away I got from the houses.
The dust road I was using was large and it was very dark to see clearly. I was mostly relying on my instinct and waiting for Aurora’s instructions.
“Stop.” A male’s voice called out from behind me.
“Shit,” I whispered then stopped moving.
My heart was rapidly beating and I was scared, all that went through my mind was that I was caught. My forehead had formed sweat and my throat was dry as the footsteps moved closer.
“Excuse me.” The voice said, this time loudly.
“Should we make a run for it?’ I asked Aurora seriously.
“No, if we do that, he will alert the others and chase after us.” She answered.
Was she Serious!. He was going to do just that if he knew who we were.
“Just turn and face him.” She ordered.
“Are you stupid or what?” I asked seriously.
“Just do it.” She growled loudly.
When the footsteps stopped behind me, I turned and faced the man. I couldn’t see his face clearly because of the darkness, but when Aurora took partial control everything became clear. The man standing in front of me was Logan and the scent of whiskey coming from him made me very uncomfortable.
“Just as I thought, it is you.” He whispered under his breath then moved his hand to his waist.
“How do I face you huh?” He asked lazily as I raised a brow.
What exactly was he talking about?
“You are my mate, remember? The woman I liked and chose way before our alpha had his eyes on you. I mean how could you do this to me huh, wasn’t I good enough for you? I rescued you from those damn bastards and gave you a beautiful room to stay in. If you had chosen me not him you would have had much more than you have now. A good carefree life with lots of sex.” He said, making Aurora furious.
She completely took over and growled at him.
“Sleep!.” She commanded while releasing her pheromones.
Her command was cold and it gave me goosebumps.
I watched in shock as Logan fell to the ground like a damn wooden log, sleeping.
She pulled back and gave me back control with a loud sigh.
“Let’s go.” She commanded.
“Was it necessary to do that to him?” I asked seriously once I had turned and began to walk ahead.
“He was in our way.” She responded simply.
I kept quiet and focused on crossing the border while at the same time thinking of how her command had an effect on someone like him.
“If she was this strong then she would command Ian easily. Instead of us running away, wouldn’t it have been better to order him to hate us or banish us?” I asked myself silently.
“That would be selfish and so unforgivable to do. We are running away from the old alpha king, not our mate, never forget that. Having to order him to do something against his will would just be plain heartless.” She answered.
I stopped in my tracks and looked at the borderline separating Ian’s pack from the other territory then turned and looked back sadly.
“If we cross this border we will never go back and Ian will hate us for leaving him behind.” I whispered huskily.
“Think of it like this, Ian will be safe and alive together with his pack members. Yes, he does hold our mark which the alpha king can easily sense but he will be of no use to him because we are who he wants.” She answered.
I wanted to ask what she meant by mark but chose not to.
I took in a deep breath then walked forward crossing the border. Once the pack was behind me I breathed out with tears forming in my eyes.
“I guess this is forever goodbye to the man I love and my alpha.” I whispered then walked ahead as tears rolled on my cheeks.
“Now that we have abandoned him, what will he do? Will he still go through the pain of the curse or will it take a toll on him? Will he ever forgive us for doing such a horrible thing to him or will he turn back to being the cold man that he once was? Is he going to take in another she-wolf as his wife and marry her or is he going to have a pup to take over his pack when he gets old?” I asked in a cracked voice.
My heart was badly hurting and my sobs were getting loud.
“Stop it.” She warned angrily.
Was he going to forgive Sherry and his mother or was he going to act just like he still didn’t care?
Was he going to miss us and choose to still love us while moving on or was he going to curse our name forever until he died?
A lot of questions were going through my mind and it was getting hard on me because they were very painful. My eyes were blurry with tears but Aurora was edging me to go on and that was exactly what I was doing.
