Ian’s p. o. v
I was worried about Amelia and couldn’t seem to draw my eyes from her.
She was brushing her hair at the edge of the bed while she looked like she was deep in thought.
After walking into her room I made a few movements to get her attention but that didn’t seem to work.
“Axel, will you be honest with me? What is wrong with her?” I asked silently.
“I don’t know Ian, I can’t detect any emotions from her besides anger and pain. I am very positive that her and Aurora are both hiding something and by the looks of it, it’s very bad.” He answered.
I sighed softly then moved to where she was. I knelt in front of her and waited for her to look at me. When a few minutes went by I cleared my throat loudly to get her attention.
She quickly dropped her comb and stood up.
“Ian, how long have you been there?” She asked loudly.
“That’s not important at all. Amelia, what’s going on?” I asked in concern.
She walked past me and went to the wardrobe.
“I told you alpha, today is my father’s memorial. I can’t seem to be calm or think straight.” She answered as she picked up a long black dress.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, then stood upright.
I understood how hard a memorial was, but for some reason, I couldn’t believe her words. I could still feel that she wasn’t telling me the whole damn truth.
“Ask her out.” Axel whispered silently.
“What?” I asked.
“You heard me, Ian, ask her out.” He repeated as I frowned.
“You know, I really want to cheer our mate up but taking her on a date is a little too much to ask.” I answered honestly.
“Why, is it because you have never gone out on an actual date before? Are you scared of messing up big time?” He asked seriously.
Yes!. He was absolutely right. But he knew that I had no time for such shit and never had I ever taken a woman out. kissing under the rain or watching movies while cuddling was too corny for me and way shitty. Not to forget the part where I didn’t want to make her feel very bad if everything didn’t go as planned.
“I can’t do it.” I answered honestly.
“Ian, it’s not about you this time but her. For once can you not be selfish and try to see her pain and struggle!. Our poor mate not only found us married to another she-wolf, you treated her like trash. When you are down and in pain she does everything she can to cheer you up and make you feel better, why can’t you do the same for her!” He growled furiously.
Damn it, he really had a point and I felt very concerned about her. I guess bending a few things once in a while wasn’t such a bad thing.
“Amelia,” I called softly.
She turned and faced me coldly.
I flinched for a second then relaxed when she smiled. I didn’t want Aurora to take over and act up no matter what.
“Would you like to escort me somewhere?” I asked softly.
“What the fuck Ian, you were supposed to ask her out on a date!” Axel growled louder.
“Just shut it, Axel.” I answered simply.
“I am going through a lot right now and I would love to get a drink as well as enjoy your company, if that’s okay with you .” I said.
She moved closer then took my hand in hers.
“Do I need to dress up?” She asked seriously.
I smiled then shook my head.
“No, you don’t need to because you are truly beautiful be it in what you are wearing now or something else.” I answered.
She looked stunned for a second then blushed and nodded.
“Can you give me a few minutes to get ready?” She asked.
“Of course, take your time.” I answered then took a step back before turning and walking out of the room.
“See, it didn’t go that bad.” I said softly to Axel.
“Yeah smooth asshole.” He spat then retreated to our subconscious.
“What the fuck is your problem?” I asked seriously as I walked into my room.
I was now getting used to having him answer me harshly, not that I was surprised. After all, there was a first time for everything.
“Now what to wear.” I whispered to myself once I was in front of the wardrobe.
“A dark blue jeans and a purple t-shirt would be nice… right?” I asked Axel then sighed loudly when he couldn’t respond.
I was getting annoyed at his fucked up behavior.
I moved the clothes on the hang wire back, slowly looking at each and every piece carefully.
“How about dark blue Gucci Jeans, Marc Jacobs Crystal-embellished cotton-jersey T-shirt, and Air Jordan Silver shoes. If you won’t respond I’ll put on the most disturbing outfit I’ll find?” I warned him.
“For someone who doesn’t want to go on a date, you sure know the names of pretty popular labels.” His reply came.
“That’s because the bitch couldn’t shut up about them.” I answered, then pulled out the jeans and T-shirt from the hang wire.
“Aren’t you a little too excited?” He asked mockingly.
I walked to the bed and put them down.
“It doesn’t matter what I say to you Axel, because you can easily tell my lie and truth apart.” I answered and then took off my clothes.
“I’m proud of myself for taking a bath half an hour ago.” I muttered under my breath.
“Yeah right.” He answered then retreated back to our subconscious again.
I decided to ignore him and quickly dressed up. As I put on my shoes I couldn’t help but smile, the date wasn’t planned and there was a chance it would go horribly. But on the other hand, just knowing that I was going to be spending some time with her alone made me very happy.
“All done.” I whispered then walked to the mirror on the wall and looked at myself.
I didn’t want it to show but I was very nervous. I brushed my hand through my hair then forced a smile on my face.
“No, the forced smile is creepy.” I whispered to myself then quickly turned when I heard a loud knock on my door.
“Coming,” I answered, then took a deep breath and released it.
I slowly walked to the door and opened it quickly before I could chicken out.
When my eyes met hers I grinned.
“I’m ready.” She said hesitantly as I lowered my gaze to look at her from toe to head.
She was in short black boots. Leather pants and a One-Shoulder top. Her hair was tied in a neat ponytail and her face was fixed with a little bit of makeup. She looked absolutely stunning and she took my breath away in that second.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t find anything suitable to …”
I moved and leaned in, kissing her cheek lightly.
“You look absolutely beautiful.” I whispered then pulled back.
She smiled then lowered her gaze to the ground shyly.
“You look amazing as well.” She whispered.
“Give me a second.” I said then quickly rushed back into the room and grabbed my car keys as well as my wallet.
I went out of the room and grabbed her hand in mine happily.
“Shall we?” I asked, then squeezed her hand slightly.
She looked at me then nodded.
“We shall.” She answered cheerfully.
This was it, my first date with the only woman I could think of spending it with.
I was going to do all I could to make it our happy memory.
