“Mmmmm,” Aaliyah lifted her body slightly with a moan, and Volkov looked at the girl in his arms with a mixture of emotions.
It has been fifteen minutes since she dozed off, and not for a single second he removed his eyes from her, gazing at her every curve like a predator eyeing his food.
Opening her eyes gently, Aaliyah looked into Mr. Volkov’s eyes, smiling to herself, feeling much sober and calm now.
“Why are you so handsome and alluring? I can wake up to this face daily,” Aaliyah said dreamily before grabbing his jaws, scrunching her brows when she touched his rough stubble.
“Wait -” She raised her brows when she realized she wasn’t seeing a dream. She tried to stand, stumbling back in his arms, and Volkov smirked, amused at her.
“Why? Do I appear in your dreams so often that it’s hard to tell whether I was a dream or not?”
Volkov asked, and Aaliyah looked at his t-shirt, biting her lips.
The events of what happened fifteen minutes ago started playing in her mind, and the more she remembered, the shyer she felt.
However, apart from shyness, one more emotion was taking over her, and that was her likeness to Mr. Volkov.
“Are you still angry?” Aaliyah asked, and Volkov smiled.
“Aaliyah, do you remember you once asked if I believed in the supernatural or not?” Volkov asked, and Aaliyah hummed, not sure where this was going.
“You know, werewolves only take one mate for their life? And to tell other male wolves who is his she-wolf, he marks her,” Mr. Volkov, rubbing her neck with his thumb, and Aaliyah’s body started to react as the butterflies and excitement in her abdomen started to rise again.
“So? Are you going to mark me too, Mr. Volkov?” Aaliyah asked.
“The question is, are you ready to be marked, Aaliyah?” Volkov smirked before grabbing her jaw, forcing her to look at him, and if Volkov thought he could play this game with her, he was mistaken.
“If not, will you force your mark on me, Mr. Volkov?” Aaliyah smiled mischievously, and Volkov sighed before bringing her face closer and pecking her lips.
“Why I even bothered to play with you is beyond me,” He pinched her cheeks, and Aaliyah sighed.
“Do you only have this much zest in you?” Aaliyah asked, challenging him.
“What do you want to do?” Volkov raised his brows.
“Swim with me?” Aaliyah asked, and before giving her a warning, Volkov threw her into the water, making a loud splash sound, and Aaliyah coughed when she resurfaced.
“You are going to pay for this, Mr. Volkov,” Aaliyah growled, her eyes following his movements as he took off his torn t-shirt, his skin glistening in the moonlight.
As he placed his foot into the water and descended the small stairs, Aaliyah swam back, chuckling at him.
“Tell me something about yourself, Dominic,” Aaliyah said, and Volkov swam closer to her before holding her in place.
“What do you want to know?”
“Anything that interests you or something about you that you wouldn’t mind sharing,” Aaliyah moved her legs to stay in her position, and Volkov hummed.
“Well, I am a gang member, for starters. My dad and brother run the gang most of the time. I have an elder sister who is into jewelry. I had to hide my identity and stay here for some time, and that’s how I met you. Since then, I have thought about nothing more than making you mine,” Volkov tucked Aaliyah’s hair behind her ears, observing her expressions.
“Are you afraid of me?” Volkov asked when she didn’t respond in any way.
“Not even in the slightest. You are rich and handsome, and your character is a bonus point. Exactly how I would like my men,” Aaliyah said, and Volkov’s gaze darkened.
“Men?” He asked.
“I meant man,” she smiled mischievously, and Volkov shook his head when he understood she deliberately did this before bending and biting her cheeks softly.
“It’s always going to be a singular man, Aaliyah and that would be me,” Volkov said, nuzzling his face in her neck.
“How many people have you killed, Mr. Volkov?” Aaliyah’s sudden question froze Volkov, and he looked into her eyes to see if she was serious about it.
“Do you really want to know?” He asked, and Aaliyah hummed before turning away and leaning her back into his chest.
“Tell me like this if you can’t face me,” Aaliyah said, but Volkov turned her around.
“If I am going to tell you this, I will do it to your face. I am not ashamed of any kill. Everyone deserved what happened to them,” Volkov said.
“I lost count after a hundred. It was probably three years ago,” Volkov looked into her eyes, trying to find the slightest hint of fear, but when he didn’t find any, he couldn’t help but scrunch his brows.
It would’ve been okay if she had become a little scared of him and tried to create some distance. It was a normal reaction. But how is he supposed to act when she looks the least fazed?
Why does she keep surprising him? It always feels like he knows her but is completely clueless about her at the same time.
“You are a brave man. To carry the death of so many people on your shoulders and still be sympathetic. It’s not something that is easily achieved,” Aaliyah said, and Volkov’s eyes widened in shock while his heart skipped a beat.
To carry the burden of so many deaths? When was the last time someone understood the dilemma in his heart so clearly without him telling him about it?
This was the reason why he had to hide his identity and start living like a normal civilian. He was turning into the beast so frequently that he was becoming afraid that his humanity would be lost.
The last time he returned home with his hands and clothes soaked in the blood of enemies, his father could see the death in his eyes, and that’s when he had ordered him to be suspended from all the missions and hide.
Volkov was asked to handle small matters and paperwork until he had spent three months without killing anyone, but that plan flopped when he killed that man in the coastal ring for attacking him.
Feeling like someone opened his heart and peered into it, Volkov felt a bit emotional, and it didn’t go unnoticed by Aaliyah, who smiled before pulling his face and hugging him.
“It’s okay. I understand you,” Aaliyah said, and Volkov hummed before hugging her tighter.
“Enough with the hard talk,” Aaliyah changed the topic before she collected some water and threw it on his face, chuckling at his shocked expression.
“You will pay for it,” Volkov growled, and just like that, both of them started to play to ease the mood.
***********
“Mr. Volkov? What are you doing here?” Aaliyah shrieked after she took a shower and changed into a sports bra and cotton shorts.
“What do you think I am here for? To sleep with you,” Volkov said as if it was the more normal thing, and Aaliyah’s face flushed.
Did he follow what she did in the earlier evening and jumped over her balcony? The door was locked. That was the only plausible way. Aaliyah sighed.
“I think I will sleep alone just fine. It’s already hot here. You don’t need to increase the temperature with your hotness,” Aaliyah smiled, and Volkov walked to her before trapping her between his arms with his hands resting on her waist.
“I don’t think so. I think you need my hotness to raise the heat in your body, which I will calm very softly and passionately,” Volkov drew small circles over her hips, and her toes curled at his suggestion.
“Not going to happen,” Aaliyah said before grabbing his hand to shove him out of the door.
Before she could near the door, Volkov pressed her on the wall, leaning his lower body into hers before looking into her eyes.
“Now that I have had a taste of these lips, do you think I will let you go just like that? If not sleeping together. At least give me a goodnight kiss,” Volkov said before he hoisted her up, making her wrap her legs around his torso and slamming her back into the wall.
The more roughly Volkov was treating her, the more she was getting aroused, and it troubled Aaliyah how much she was starting to want him.
Right now, all she wanted to do was throw him on the bed and pounce on him before hungrily devouring his body, but she knew if she unleashed her emotions and allowed them to take over, she wouldn’t stop at anything until his wide girth would be deep inside her, tearing her walls.
Placing his lips gently onto hers, Volkov pecked her before taking a whiff of her intoxicating smell.
“Are you done?” Aaliyah asked after some time, and Volkov nodded before gently putting her down.
As he walked to the door of her room, he half-turned his body before smirking.
“Next time you plan on getting wild, please give me a warning, or I won’t have any shirt or t-shirt in my wardrobe,” Volkov mused, and Aaliyah’s face flushed before she slammed the door, his chuckle as he went inside his room, making her even shyer than before.
“You sound awfully happy,” Benjamin commented after talking to Volkov for some time, and the latter only shrugged.
“I am on vacation. Give me one reason why I shouldn’t be happy,” Volkov evened his voice, afraid that one wrong move would make all of his family come to this ship to check what was going on.
“The meeting with Harry is scheduled after ten days. We got this meeting planned after continuously urging him for three months now. Dad wants you to go to the meeting. I heard he wouldn’t be there alone. One of the major holders of his secret gang would be there,” Benjamin said, and Volkov remembered Aaliyah’s words, his heart swelling with pride.
Time after time, Aaliyah keeps proving that Volkov wasn’t even the slightest bit wrong in choosing her. When he had started stalking her, it was just for fun, but now, he know he left the fun part too far.
Now it was pure torture. Torture of staying away from her, controlling your beast that wants to devour her, seeing her with other men, and whatnot.
“Volkov, are you there?” Benjamin asked, and Volkov sighed.
“I will be there. Send me the location and time,” Volkov said, and Benjamin hummed before ending the call.
Harry is finally within the gang’s reach. Hopefully, this meeting will go wonderfully. Volkov thought before plopping on his bed with a satisfactory sigh.
Meanwhile, Aaliyah, who was about to turn off the lights, looked at her phone when a message from her brother a few minutes ago caught her gaze.
“He is arriving,” Aaliyah read the message, her heart feeling a turmoil of emotions.
He was coming to the city! It was about time she got her revenge on him. She still hasn’t settled scores with him for the last fight. She will get back to him this time, even if it means drawing some blood. Aaliyah’s gaze darkened before she turned off the lights to let sleep take over.
