“This is our newest consignment. It came last night. From what I have heard from Argentina’s base these weapons are much faster and better than the previous ones. The snipers of this consignment are the best,” Bryce walked inside the warehouse before nodding to the man, who opened the lock.
“What about the pistols? I asked for the changes last time too. Sharp and to the point. The recoil needed more work,” Volkov walked inside the room that displayed various rifles, snipers, pistols, and other weapons.
Stopping near a particular dagger that had an eagle made on it, Volkov smiled before picking it up.
“What is special about this eagle?” Volkov asked, not really expecting an answer from anyone.
It was just a dagger, but the design piqued his curiosity, reminding him of a particular girl.
“Next in the line is the machine gun range. It’s been a long time since we had such a fight on a level where these came in use, and keeping that in mind, I asked the base to make them in a limited amount,” Bryce walked to another section of the weapons.
While Bryce was talking about all the weapons, Volkov felt bored and scrolled through Aaliyah’s number. From what he heard, she must be either getting ready for the party or might be already there.
It’s 9 pm. She must be at the party.
“Don’t forget to revise your rules I told you about vocabulary learning,” Volkov hit the sent button before he could contemplate, looking at the message as if it was poison. There was no going back. It wasn’t what he wanted to send because he knew it would annoy her, but he needed something to remind her of him and that’s the best he could come up with.
“The range of this rifle is 2km. The recoil is less with more control on the target, and we have worked on the length of the -” Bryce stopped when he saw Volkov glaring at his phone, and Dimitri, who was checking a sniper, turned around to see what stopped him.
“Dominic?” Dimitri asked, and Volkov immediately closed the screen before looking at Bryce, a scowl on his face.
Seeing his scrunched expression, Bryce thought something was wrong with the sniper, and he looked at Dimitri for help.
“These are a few of the prototypes that we have asked the Argentina base to ship to us,” Dimitri started before changing his tone.
“If it still doesn’t appeal to you and you think more changes are needed, we will send them our requirements again. We are paying that R&D team for a reason,” Dimitri chose his words carefully, and Volkov looked up before nodding, making everyone in the room sigh.
It was much better when he was serious about his teaching job and Aaliyah. Why was he suddenly showing so much interest in the gang’s matters? It was making everyone uneasy, and they felt like they were walking on eggshells.
“What about the submachine gun? There is no prototype for that one?” Volkov looked at Bryce, and he shook his head.
“It’s still in processing,” Bryce opened another door.
“What about Class 5 weapons?” Volkov raised his brows, and Bryce paused in his steps.
Meanwhile, Aaliyah looked at Ashton, who was dancing on the floor, drifting her gaze to Momo who motioned for her to join them in dancing.
“Come on. It’s no fun if you won’t dance,” David joined them, and she smiled.
Standing close to Ashton and Momo, Aaliyah smiled when Momo placed her hands on her waist, pulling her closer as they jumped on the high bass beats like mad people.
“Show us some moves, girl!” Momo shouted at the top of her lungs. It was clear Momo was wasted because of the punch drink she had earlier.
Though they said it was an alcohol-free party, Aaliyah hardly believed it, and that’s why she hadn’t even taken a sip of what looked like juice. She was sticking to her ‘only sealed can of drinks’ policy.
Walking towards the kitchen to quench her thirst, she bobbed her head on the beats as she took a water bottle from the fridge before opening it.
“Hey, Aaliyah. I am sorry about what happened with your mom. I called her out of general concern because I was scared for you. I didn’t know things would turn this bad for you,” Aaliyah heard Maria, and she placed her bottle on the table when Maria suddenly hugged her in a tight grip.
“It’s okay. It happened in the past. So knock it off. It’s not like grumbling and pondering over it can change things, can it? We are good,” Aaliyah felt uncomfortable at the sudden touch, trying to get away as soon as possible, and Maria clapped her hands.
“You are such a kind-hearted girl, Aaliyah. Thanks for forgiving me,” Maria smiled.
“Want to join me for a dance?”
“I just came back from the dance floor. Thanks, though,” Aaliyah said before taking her bottle and drinking cold water, finally feeling relaxed as she left the kitchen, not noticing the evil look that passed through Maria’s eyes.
The smell of cigarettes, alcohol, and sweaty bodies was taking a toll on her, and Maria just had to make it worse by hugging her. Walking out of the large mansion-like house, Aaliyah sat on the bench, squinting her brows when her head started feeling a little hazy.
Ping!
She heard her phone going off, making her giggle. She didn’t know what was happening to her. Her head was becoming heavy and dizzy, and everything she was doing was bringing a giggle out of her mouth. She felt drunk.
Seeing the text from an unknown number, Aaliyah scoffed when she read what was written.
Revision? Only one person can torture her like this. And is that what he is worried about? Aaliyah pouted before saving the number under the name hottie.
As she sat there, bored and alone, she scrunched her brows, feeling restless.
The nerve of this guy! He is already torturing her with extra sessions for Olympiad and making her do useless jobs as a teacher’s assistant, and even now when she is at a party, he wants to ruin her mood by reminding her of the assignment. Aaliyah took out her phone and called the number, laying flat on the bench.
“Do you think you can do whatever comes to your mind and the higher-ups will never find out about it? Is this why I came all the way here? How dare you threaten me?” Volkov kicked the chair in front of him, and the guy sitting on it fell, his body shivering from fear.
Taking the dagger out of his pocket, Volkov hit the man standing behind the chair before sitting closer to the culprit. He roughly grabbed the chin of the man, forcing him to look at him.
“Who do you think you were dealing with? I am not Benjamin. It’s Dominic Volkov,” Volkov extended his hand, and Dimitri immediately placed the pistol on it.
Forcing the pistol in that man’s mouth, Volkov smirked at him when fear started to surface on his face. The fear of death. The loud pounding of the culprit’s heart was like music to his ears.
“I find it really amazing how you guys think we will never check these things,” Volkov loaded the bullet and was about to pull the trigger when his phone vibrated in his pocket.
“You got lucky, but only for a second,” Volkov looked at the man coldly before squinting his brows when he saw the number.
“Hell-
“You, big mean man! You’re a jerk!” Aaliyah’s soft annoyed voice echoed in the silent room, and all the men gasped.
They were already unlucky that Volkov was in a bad mood ever since he came to know that this man and his gang were tainting the python gang’s name by using their name in prostitution and human trafficking. And now whoever this girl was, has called him and said he was a jerk.
They were done for today. No one can save them from the wrath of the devil today. Their death is near. A couple of them looked at their feet to hide the fear in their eyes.
“How dare you! Hmph!! Are two hours of torturous tutoring sessions not enough that you have to remind me of the assignment while I am partying?” Aaliyah spoke before she sniffled, pausing for a second.
“Aaliyah, are you drunk?” Volkov already felt uneasy about it, and Dimitri and Bryce looked at each other with amusement in their eyes.
This bas*ard on the ground was really lucky.
“Mr. Volkov, are you there with this big mean man? I don’t know what’s happening to me. I strictly didn’t drink anything here because I knew none were alcohol-free. Hehe, I am drunk just from a bottle of water,” Aaliyah giggled before her yelp echoed.
“Oops, I fell. Hehe… Are you listening, my love?” Aaliyah’s tone became soft, and Volkov looked at the man in front of him with a sigh, all his anger gone.
He was about to speak when the phone call ended, and the next thing he knew, she video-called him.
Hiding his screen, Volkov picked up the call, his lips twitching when he saw Aaliyah swaying on her feet.
“You see, academic performance isn’t the only thing you should worry about, Mr. Volkov. I don’t like studying and look at me. I am the topper. Let me show you what I’ve got,” Aaliyah spoke, and Volkov kicked the man away from him casually, standing in the corner of the room as he leaned his body on the wall.
He didn’t want anyone else to see his favorite student and the woman he likes in this state. Only he has the right.
Dancing to the faint sound of the song playing inside the house, Aaliyah moved around sensually, laying on the ground and twerking her booty, her shorts making them look more plump and juicy.
Everyone stood there in silence, not knowing what was happening as Volkov looked at whoever the girl was with a monotone expression.
Losing his tie and unbuttoning his shirt a little, Volkov’s expression turned darker with each passing second as he saw the girl taking off her jacket, her crop top barely doing its job to hide her curves and br*asts.
Everyone thought he was becoming angry now, but only he knew what was going on.
“That’s enough, Aaliyah. I got it. You are a good dancer. I am coming to get you” Volkov’s voice was heavy with emotion, and Aaliyah stopped before coming closer to the phone she had placed on the bench, the v on her chest a little too evident, making Volkov growl in his mind.
He would be damned if someone saw her like this. That would be a nightmare coming true for that person because he will kill him.
“Deal with him. Dimitri,” Volkov nodded at Dimitri, who immediately rushed out to start the car.
“Where are you, little girl?” Volkov pinched the space between his brows.
“I am in the bushes,” Aaliyah sounded happy before the sound of something falling came.
“I fell again. *Sniff* It’s all because of you. You are a jerk and an evil man,” She paused.
“Mr. Volkov? Mr. Volkov?” She whispered before making another voice call.
“Mr. Volkov? Has this big man kidnapped you? Send me your address. I will save you, just like the other day. Be my damsel in distress while I become your knight in shining armor,” She giggled at her words before taking a deep breath.
“Mr. Volkov, what am I going to do with you? You are naughty and dangerous. The way you glare at me all the time like you want to eat me, I wonder if you really want to eat me up. What reward will you give me if I save you?” Aaliyah’s voice sounded sensual, and Volkov’s grip tightened around his phone, while Dimitri and Bryce bit the inside of their mouths to keep from laughing.
“Someone’s probably spiked your drink, Aaliyah. Now be a good girl and tell me your location so that I can come and pick you up,”
“I am not a good girl, Mr. Volkov. Haven’t you realized it till now? However, I can make an exception today, just for you. Hehe,” Aaliyah snickered as if it was supposed to be some kind of inside joke before she started walking toward the gates of the house.
“It says 12th cross street, Silver lane,” Aaliyah read the board in front of the house, and Volkov looked at Dimitri, who nodded before turning the car in that direction.
