“Are you annoyed by something?” Mr. Volkov asked, genuinely this time, and Aaliyah could feel it, but she didn’t want to deal with him at the moment.
“Yes. I am annoyed by your presence, Mr. Volkov. I don’t know how the hell you appear everywhere I go. Can you do something about it? If not, we don’t have anything to talk about, sir,” Aaliyah spat the last word.
“Aaliyah, you are the first person who has this power to irk me so much. The way you keep showing me this attitude, you have no idea how much patience it takes to not punish you in a way that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. I have warned you before. Don’t test my patience,” Volkov’s hostile gaze felt like it was penetrating her soul, and she turned around.
“I will see you in the session,” Volkov muttered when she started to walk away, ruffling his hand through his hair, feeling frustrated with his slipping of emotions.
Indeed, he was here for her, and he wanted nothing more than to claim her, but he didn’t want that to happen at the expense of her hating him. That’s the last thing he wants.
What was his problem? His problem was that he got infatuated with a girl he met for the first time and wanted nothing more than to get to know her. Since she studied in this school, he thought it would be easy to appear as her teacher, but for some reason, he felt like this professional relationship was only drifting them apart if anything. Volkov looked at the back of the leaving girl with a sigh.
It looks like if things don’t go his way, he will have to resort to a flimsy way to get her. Or maybe the way that suits his personality and character more. He will have to kidnap her to make her his because, from the way he was becoming infatuated with her, he doesn’t know if he would be able to sit calmly until he gets her.
There is no way he will be able to leave the place knowing he didn’t do his best in getting her or some other man like Ashton, who is so close to her, might get her.
Hearing his ringtone going off, Volkov picked up his phone without bothering to say anything.
“Hey, I know you are busy with your plans of getting Aaliyah, but can you pick up Samantha? She would literally punch my balls black and blue if she had to hail a taxi. I told her I would come and pick her up, but I am stuck with this new consignment, and even reaching there will take up to 5 hours. Please save me this time. I owe you big time,” Shane talked non-stop, and Volkov sighed.
“Why is she coming here? Has her mission in the middle east ended? I thought she wasn’t supposed to come before the end of this year. Have you arranged for her accommodation?” Volkov asked, and Shane cursed out loud.
“Then I might have to ask you another favor till I am back. Please lend your Cornville house for two days. It’s not like you are using it anyways. I will tell my sister. She will arrange her accommodation and come to get her after two days. My work here will be done by then,” Shane spoke in a pleading tone, and Volkov sighed.
“Come on. She is our friend. Don’t you consider her your sister? I bet she will be thrilled to see you picking her. She looks up to you as her idol. She wants to become a killer like you,” Shane coughed, “I mean, a leader like you,” Shane corrected his words, and Volkov rolled his eyes at that.
“Fine. I will get her,” Volkov ended the call before walking back to the school building.
‘It’s good he didn’t persist about knowing what I was reading. That would’ve been another kind of embarrassment,’ Aaliyah smiled as her plan to distract him from what she was reading worked.
After getting lectured for sleeping in her chemistry class for the second time, Aaliyah left the class with a grumpy look.
“I have to pick up my friend from the airport. We can have the tutoring session at any cafe. Are you okay with it?” Volkov asked when Aaliyah entered the class for the session.
“It’s okay. We can have the tutoring session tomorrow. It’s not like I will fail some kind of test if I didn’t get tutored one day,” Aaliyah said, distracted, and Volkov didn’t like how she was talking, like being with him didn’t matter to her at all.
“It has to be today. I am a man of principals,” Volkov gritted his teeth and Aaliyah looked at him before nodding.
“I have a shift today. I work part-time in the Blue pearl cafe. So I can do my shift after the session if we go there. Will that work for you?” Aaliyah spoke, following him to his car, and Volkov hummed, not saying anything more.
As Volkov drove in silence he kept looking at her from the corner of his eyes, feeling something was wrong with her.
No matter how much he teased her, she never lost her permanent smile or jolly nature, but today, she was sitting like she wasn’t even here.
Aaliyah, on the other hand, kept looking at the cars to see if she could find someone familiar. The same feeling of being watched, which had stopped during her classes, started as soon as she came out of school, and she didn’t like one bit of it.
“Cane!” Aaliyah came out of her thoughts when she saw a woman the same age as Mr. Volkov, waving at them from the airport.
“Was Bryce and Shane busy today? I didn’t expect you to- oh, you brought company,” That woman looked at Aaliyah closely before wriggling her brows at Volkov.
“Hi, I am Aaliyah Gold,”
“Samantha Stan,” That woman replied with a smile, and remembering the female lead in the book, Aaliyah’s lips twitched.
“So, who is she?” Samantha dragged.
“My student. Since I need to discuss a few things with you, we will have the tutoring session at a cafe,” Volkov said in a plain tone, and Samantha clapped her hands.
“That’s awesome,” Samantha gazed, looking at the back of Aaliyah’s head interestingly.
No matter how she put it, the girl didn’t look too young from herself, but she had a body and presence that would make people turn their heads.
She was a mixture of what they would call beautiful and sexy.
“So, Aaliyah, how did you end up being tutored by this rude j*rk?” Samantha asked as soon as they entered the cafe, and Aaliyah barely hid her smile when Samantha called Mr. Volkov a j*rk like she does in her head all the time.
“Hey, Aaliyah, you are early,” the boy behind the counter, Stefan, said, and Aaliyah waved at him with a confident nod, making him chuckle.
“I think that guy likes you too. Your boyfriend?” Samantha said, bringing her out of her thoughts, and Aaliyah scrunched her brows.
“No, he isn’t. Just a friend I work with. And too? Who else likes me?”
“Me,” Samantha posed, and Aaliyah chuckled.
“Why do you like me? We just met,” Aaliyah reasoned at the friend, who was possibly Mr. Volkov’s girlfriend.
Honestly, she would be damned if they were a couple. Not because she was attracted to him, but because a girl like Samantha looked too jolly and innocent for a guy like him. Or maybe that’s why they were a couple. Because he was into innocent girls like her?
“Do we need a reason to like someone? I like your vibes,” Samantha beamed at Aaliyah, and before she could reply, a man walked inside the cafe, stopping right at their table.
“Sorry for not picking you up, Samantha. I was busy-” the man looked up from his phone when he noticed another presence on the table.
“And who is this beautiful young woman? I am Dimitri Troy,” Dimitri sat on his knees, and Aaliyah, who was caught by surprise, looked at Samantha, who was chuckling, amused.
“Aaliyah Gold,” Aaliyah smiled awkwardly.
“What a beautiful name,” Dimitri kissed the back of her hand like a true gentleman, and heat rushed to Aaliyah’s neck.
“So are you Samantha’s friend, I guess? How come I have never heard about such a beautiful friend? You made a friend as soon as you came to the country? And a beautiful friend like her? I thought you only had us guys,” Dimitri looked at Samantha, teasing her, knowing well how much she always wanted a girl friend, and before anyone could say anything, Volkov walked back from the counter with his infamous cold look.
“She is my student. And you better keep your paws away from her,” Volkov’s cold and hostile gaze met with Aaliyah, who looked away.
“Shall we start?” Aaliyah asked as she picked up her bag, and Volkov nodded.
“Aren’t you guys leaving?” Volkov looked at the duo, and both of them coughed before sitting at the farthest seat from him, giving him one meaningful look before they got busy with their projects.
“Let’s study idioms today. I heard from my sister’s friend that understanding them can come in handy,” Aaliyah initiated, and Volkov was surprised to see her so eager to study, but maybe that was because her shift was about to start soon.
“Sure, let’s start with it,”
After a tiresome one-hour session, Aaliyah stretched her legs and arms before cracking her neck.
“Why don’t you take a walk? It will refresh your mind. My shift will start soon so I am going to the back room now,” Aaliyah spoke, and Volkov walked out of the restaurant, making a call to Bryce.
“Yes, Dimitri is here. Deal with it. Okay. Let’s meet in the evening,” Volkov ended the call quickly, sighing when he saw the empty seat.
Placing her stuff neatly on the side, he picked up her bag, scrunching his brows when the book Aaliyah was reading came into his view.
Remembering how shocked she was, Volkov pulled out the book.
Maybe she was reading something regarding the gang-related stuff? Her actions in the past couple of days have come off as suspicious. First, she got involved in a fight, she used a gun efficiently, and now she is also involved with a local group of delinquent kids.
Opening the book, ready to see the guns or other stuff, Volkov’s expression stiffened when he read what was written on the random page he stopped on.
”
‘Disobedient girls like you deserve punishment, my love. Now get on your four while I bang my c*ck inside you. Today I will render you unable to move. This session of pleasure and pain will keep you reminded of what I can do,’ Desmond’s sweet voice echoed in her ears.
Quickly removing his trousers, he lifted her skirt, siding her panty to one side before he slammed himself inside her –
”
Volkov slammed the book shut before stuffing it inside her bag, clenching his fists when he imagined his sweet Aaliyah reading such a book.
“Hey, I am starting my shift now. I will be here for two hours so you can give my stuff to me,” Aaliyah took the bag from him, and Volkov’s eyes darkened with an unexplainable emotion swirling in them.
Maybe this innocent-looking Aaliyah wasn’t too innocent after all.
“You guys didn’t leave?” Aaliyah asked as soon as her shift ended, and she exited the back room.
Since she was working in the kitchen, she had no idea who was coming and leaving the cafe, thus she was surprised to see the three of them still sitting there.
“We needed to have a meeting and since we were already in a cafe, we didn’t bother going elsewhere,” Samantha replied, and Aaliyah nodded.
“Hey, can we exchange phone numbers? I don’t really have that many friends, and I like you,” Samantha practically hurried to Aaliyah, who found it a bit weird.
“Sure, here it is,” Aaliyah punched her number in Samantha’s phone before nodding at Dimitri awkwardly, who was waving at her like a sad puppy.
Waving her hand at everyone one last time, Aaliyah left the cafe with a shudder.
Judging from Mr. Volkov’s attitude, he sure has a bunch of jolly friends.
