Clarissa’s POV
I took a cab back to my new house but the entire time, I was on edge.
I always felt a shiver down my spine and breathing down on my neck like someone was watching
my every move.
I clutched my bags closer and tightly. I knew why I was on edge.
I couldn’t close my eyes. Each time I did, I saw Lorenzo’s furious eyes staring into the depths of
my soul.
I could see the murderous intent in them when I told Erica about my new boyfriend.
His stare sent shivers down my spine but yet, part of me felt satisfied. He said he only saw me as
his slut. If that was what I was to him, then why was he jealous? Why was he jealous that I was
with someone else? Was he supposed to be concerned with what I did?
I hurried up to my room and decided to take a shower. I was hot and anxious and I needed to
calm down. The thought about how I lied to Erica and the look on Lorenzo’s face was enough to
give me anxiety for days.
I admired my bedroom as I took off my clothes. This house was a really good purchase. Too bad
that the owners had been killed by werewolves. They left such lovely furniture and draperies.
I had considered changing a lot of them but many of them were still in perfect condition and I
loved the mood that they set in the house.
Oftentimes, I would wonder if werewolves would come here and hunt me too. But whenever I
asked myself that question, my fears were laid to rest. The real estate agents said the family had
been dead for a while so it meant that the wolves that killed them had probably forgotten about
this place too.
If I remembered correctly, they were killed in a time when werewolves and humans lived in
animosity.
Humans had briefly discovered about our kind and were hunting us down for experiments. It was
possible that the family that lived here knew about our existence and were killed in order to keep
our existence a secret.
They were probably scientists. When I cleaned the house, I did find some scientific equipment
and invoices for the delivery of equipment to certain labs across the world.
I ended my brooding and hopped into the shower. The water’s cold spray was refreshing and a
sigh of relief escaped my lips. This felt so good. I was definitely going to get used to this.
I tried to keep my mind calm but thoughts of Lorenzo drifted into my mind.
I still couldn’t believe that my wolf had sensed his presence and now, I could get to see him more
often.
The more I thought about him, the wetter I became and my thighs throbbed pleasurably as I
rubbed them against each other.
I imagined him having me in the bathroom, pinning me against the wall, and filling me up so good
that his name escaped my lips in a sweet moan.
My fingers slid down and grazed my clit and an electrifying sensation shot through my body.
“Ahhhhhnn!”
I moaned out loud and ran my hands through my hair.
I felt pure ecstasy as my fingers continued to please myself.
Suddenly, my stomach growled loudly and I was thrown out of my pleasurable daydream.
I remember that I didn’t have anything to eat at Erica’s house. The death stare that Lorenzo had
given me in the morning chased away my appetite. Slowly, the feeling of hunger became the new
dominant sensation.
In frustration, I got out of the shower with my table wrapped around my chest and another one
on my head to dry my hair.
I had no idea what I was going to have for dinner.
I was certain that there was some spaghetti in the house. Maybe I could make something with it
and go proper grocery shopping the next day.
I got dressed and dried up my hair. It was still awkward living alone and I was still getting used to
it.
I hurried downstairs to the kitchen and opened the cupboard. Just as I suspected, there was
some spaghetti and some ingredients to make it. I was in luck that none of the tin foods had
expired yet.
My stomach growled even louder and I hurriedly put a saucepan on the stove and began to get
the ingredients ready.
“Onions, onions. Are there any?”
I looked in the cupboard, searching for onions and then I heard a loud knock at my door.
Bang! Bang!
I jumped in fright and nearly tripped over the broom that leaned on the wall.
The knocking came again and my heart skipped multiple beats.
Who could be knocking at my door? I just moved in here. I didn’t have any neighbors and I was
certain that I wouldn’t have any visitors.
Bang! Bang!
The knocking came again but this time it was even louder.
I shrieked in fear and immediately clamped my mouth with my hands. What if it was robbers?
What if the same pack of wolves that killed the family that lived here were knocking at my door?
What if they wanted to kill me?
I grabbed a knife and tiptoed to the door.
The loud knocking came again and I tried my best not to shriek in fear.
I looked through the peephole of the door but I couldn’t see anything. It seemed like it was faulty.
I had to get it changed. But why did it have to be faulty at a time like this?
“Who is it?” I demanded in a loud voice trying my best to shroud my fear in a facade of courage.
I didn’t get a reply but the knocking came again.
I weighed my options. Maybe it was something important. Maybe someone came to warn me
about something.
I looked through the windows but I still couldn’t see who was standing at the door.
I took a deep breath and decided to open the door just a little to peek and see who was outside.
I would use the chain to secure it in place. Whoever it was, wouldn’t be able to force the door
open and snap the chain, right?
With my newfound resolve, I put the chain into the hook, took a deep breath, and opened the
door with just a tiny crack.
“Who are…”
The door was forced open, the chain snapped, and…
