Lorenzo’s POV
“What the fwuck?!”
I was woozy but I had the strength to stuff my phone in my pocket and face the imbecile that had
the audacity to take my drink from me.
“Gwive that back!”
“Or else what? You can always buy yourself another one.”
The man taunted me and when I stood up to face me, three other men stood up and glared
threats at me.
It was then that I realized that the bozo that stole my drink wasn’t alone.
“Why the fuck did you have to take mine when you come get yours.”
The man scoffed and swirled my drink playfully.
“I don’t want to pay for my own drink. I’d rather take yours. He was about to put the drink to his
lips when I lashed out but his men held me back.
The man chuckled.
“It seems that you are a feisty one. I like you. But your courage is foolhardy. Don’t you know who
the fuck I am? Look around.”
I scoffed. But when I looked around, I noticed that the club had gone quiet and all eyes were on
me and the daring man.
“The ladies flocked around him and revered him. I looked at him more intently and I noticed the
gold teeth and heavy chains around his neck. He looked like a pimp.
The bartender stood, frozen to the spot in fear. He was trembling and was able to squeak a
fearful suggestion.
“Boss, I can give you a better drink. I am sure that you want more than a regular martini.”
The man chuckled and set the glass down.
“You are right. You ‘could’ make a new drink for me, but you see, it’s not about the drink
anymore. I want this rookie’s respect. If you can give me that in a glass then I may just consider
handing him back his drink and the night can go on like nothing happened.”
He gave me a nasty smile but I spat on the face of his men.
“Fuck you!”
My adrenaline was slowly overriding the effects of the alcohol. I could smell the club owner. He
wasn’t a wolf. If anything, he had better be careful of me.
His men were enraged and their clenching fists and gnashing teeth were pleading with the boss
to let them take a swing at me.
“You are a ballsy fella. Your courage is admired but at the moment, with your life on the line, it’s
not needed. I suggest you apologize to them before things get ugly.”
My fingers clenched into a fist. I could feel my wolf bubbling to the top, hungry for a scuffle but I
managed to suppress him. I was going to take these fools in my human form.
“Read my lips. Fuck. Off.”
The boss gritted his golden teeth and downed my drink in a single gulp. He smacked his lips in
satisfaction and glared at me.
“You are going to regret that. Get him, boys!”
His men rushed at me but they were no match. I unfurled punch after jab with lightning speed.
They fell to the ground ground like dominos.
“You boys are fucking worthless! He’s just one guy! Get! Him!”
One of his men came up behind me and tried to stab me with a shattered bottle but I whipped
around and disarmed him.
“Arrrrrggghhhh!”
He yelled in pain as I twisted his arm and flung him across the room.
People were running around, trying to leave the building for fear that the police would join in on
the commotion.
“What is wrong with you?! Is this the kind of bullshit security that I paid for?! You all are
worthless! Get him and kill him!”
The boss was still screaming in anger as he watched his men get tossed around like stuffed
animals in a five-year-old’s hands.
The bewilderment on the boss’ face was a sight to behold. His men were twice my size and were
getting pummeled ruthlessly.
More men kept coming and soon the club was filled with the sound of smashing bottles as they
tried to create more makeshift weapons.
They surrounded me and immediately began to charge.
I was fast and nimble and in record time, they were all on the ground.
The boss stood alone and faced me.
“Fuck you!”
He fumbled and pulled out a gun from his back pocket and pointed it at me.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh!”
The panic became even worse as people rushed to leave the club. No one wanted to be a victim
of stray fire. The bartenders ducked behind the counter and stayed there.
I was alone, looking down the barrel of his gun.
“You are done for, fucker!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The shots rang out and the bullets embedded themselves into my chest.
I was still standing. I hadn’t moved an inch from the spot.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Click! Click!
Another three shots and he was out of bullets.
I was still standing, bleeding from six holes in my body. Not even a muscle had twitched.
He stood looking at me in shock and fear.
“Who are…”
He began to choke and he held his throat. He held his throat and fell to the floor, writhing in pain
like a salt-sprinkled worm.
He dropped the gun in his hands and held his throat.
He coughed and spluttered. His face became pale and his movements stiffer and stiffer. He began
to foam from the mouth, kick around wildly and his eyes dilated.
He coughed and gasped some more and was finally still. His face was drained of color and life.
I walked up to his lifeless body and picked up the glass that he drank from.
I looked at it suspiciously and took a sniff of the glass.
The little drops of Martini smelled funky. And then, it occurred to me.
Poison!
My logic returned to me for a brief moment and I looked over the bar table for the bartender
who had served me the drink but he was nowhere to be found.
