Dante:
I took a sip of my early morning coffee as I sat in my study lazily going through paperwork but
ever so often getting distracted by the thoughts of Erica.
Her presence here had brought back a lot of memories that I had been unable to control my
desire for her. I was glad I wasn’t the only one because she’d just been as willing to jump my
bones as I had been to jump hers.
A smile spread across my face as thoughts of her panting as I felt her appeared in my mind again.
I wanted her, needed that feeling of her on top of me but I knew it would take some more
convincing to get her back here.
Still going over paperwork, the door to my study creaked open and I glanced up to find Laura
sashaying towards me with a seductive smile on her face.
“Dante,” she purred as she wrapped her hands around my neck from behind.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you, I thought you were in some kind of meeting?”
Her voice carried a seductive air to it that usually would make me hard but not today.
“No, I haven’t been to any meetings. What do you want Laura?” I asked with a sigh.
“Well…” she trailed her hands down my chest, “I was wondering if you’ve finally set a date for the
wedding.”
“What wedding?” I asked, confused.
“Don’t act coy with me, my love. I know you had a meeting with the elders and they suggested
that we get married.” She said as she came around to sit on my lap.
A deep frown settled on my face as her words sank in.
“We are not getting married, Laura.”
I said a little harshly, “not now, not ever!”
“What? Why?” She asked as she shot up from my lap, her voice pitched high and her face
pinched into a grimace.
“Laura, please not now.” I said with a tired sigh.
“Not today? Are you fucking kidding me, Dante? You just told me you are never going to marry
me!”
“I didn’t mean it that way, I just meant I didn’t want to get married anytime soon.”
That made her scoff.
“We’ve been together for eight years now and there’s still no sign of you wanting to pop the
question, am I just a fucking prop to you? Something to warm your bed while you scout for a
wife!”
“Oh My goddess, Laura, will you calm down!”
“No, I’m not going to calm down!”
“Well, if you insist on not calming down then I’ll just leave. I have to go to work anyway!” I
growled and barreled off my chair and walked towards the door mumbling that I had to go to
work as she yelled after me.
I plucked my car keys on my way out and jumped into my car, ignoring her jabs at me.
I drove off and into traffic, letting out a sigh as soon as I was far away from her yelling.
As I drove down the road, my phone began to ring. It was Laura and I knew picking up her call
would only lead to one thing and I didn’t want to argue on the road.
A series of text messages from Laura came in and I glanced at it for only a second and then back
at the road and quickly pressed down on my brakes as a kid ran in front of my car.
My car screeched to a stop just seconds away from hitting the kid.
I jumped out of my car, my heart beating as I saw the little girl sprawled on the ground staring up
at the sky disoriented.
I quickly picked her up from the ground and held on to her.
“Are you okay?” I asked, scared that I had maybe shocked her.
“Yes, I’m fine.” She blinked.
“Are you sure? Where is your mom?”
She blinked at me as if she had no idea what I was talking about.
Just as I was looking around for her guardian another little girl that looked just like her ran
towards me and hugged my legs.
“Hey there.” I waved at her.
“Is this your sister?”
I asked,
“Yes, she is,”
“I see, where’s your mommy?”
I inquired.
“Elma!” A boyish voice called out and I turned to find a boy that looked just like the two girls
running towards me.
It wasn’t hard to figure out that they were siblings, probably even twins and the boy was the
older one.
“Hello, young man,” I crouched down, letting go of the girl in my arms.
“Hi, thank you for saving my sister’s life.”
I chuckled at his formal way of speaking. He looked like a cherub in a suit even though he was
wearing regular kid’s clothes.
“Well, I wouldn’t say save but you are welcome.”
The kid stretched out his hands to shake mine and I couldn’t help but smile.
“Such a civil young man.” I smiled as I shook his hands.
“Wow, also a sharp grip. Your dad has taught you well.”
He seemed to be a strong young man protecting his sisters even though he didn’t look a day over
six years old himself.
He nodded respectfully and I had to roll my eyes this time.
“You are very handsome, mister!” One of the girls said, staring up at me with googly eyes.
“Thank you and you and your sisters are very pretty!”
“Where are your parents?” I asked, wondering what kind of guardian would let
their kids out of their sight.
“Oh my God, what are you doing?” A feminine voice squealed, interrupting my interrogation
I looked over to find a young woman running towards us, worried in her eyes.
That’s their mother?
How strange. She is so young…
“I’m so sorry sir, I had no idea when they ran out, thank you very much for… well, watching
them.” She rushed out.
She looked about ready to faint with both worry and relief.
“You are welcome but next time watch over them more carefully. They seem to be a bit
hyperactive.” I said in a playful tone to the lady.
“I’ll be sure to do that, thank you.”
“Now come on, let’s go home,” she said to the kids.
“Do we have to?” One of the girl’s whined, the one that had come to hug my legs.
“Yes, now come on!” She yelled and they all followed her but not before both of the girls rushed
to give me a peck on the cheek.
I watched as she led the kids into the car and drove off.
“What a bunch of cuties,” I smiled.
As I got back into my car, I couldn’t help but smile at their rowdiness. That lady was a lucky
woman but I was a hundred percent sure that they were a handful.
My thoughts veered to the little boy that had given me a handshake, it may just be my
imagination but I swear I felt a connection with him plus looked awfully familiar, I just couldn’t for
the life of me place where I had seen him before.
Immediately I got to work, I ordered some breakfast and a bottle of fizzy drink to refresh me from
the accident scare earlier.
If I hadn’t been careful, I would be in a different situation by now.
I ate in silence, ignoring every call and text that came from Laura. I couldn’t handle her hysteria
right now.
Maybe when I got back home but now? I wanted to be alone with my thoughts.
Alone with my thoughts, memories of Erica and I getting dirty on this table flooded my mind and I
couldn’t help but miss her.
Kissing her lips again after so long felt too good, it was almost like it had been the first time all
over again.
I needed to see her again!
I needed to feel her hands rubbing up and down my chest, her tongue tangling with me in a
frenzied kiss, I needed to feel her full breasts in my palm again.
Without giving it much thought, I picked up my phone and called my Beta into my office.
“You called for me, Alpha?” He asked as he walked in with a frown two minutes later.
“Yes, I need you to arrange a dinner meeting for me and Erica in one of those rich restaurants.”
“What?” Robert frowned.
“I said I need you to arrange…”
“I heard you, I’m just confused as to why. You realize you have a full schedule and you can’t get
out of any of them?” He interrupted with a frown.
“I don’t care. Clear my schedule and arrange a meeting between me and Erica.”
“Um, okay.” Robert nodded reluctantly, “I’ll get on it immediately.”
He said before turning on his heels and walking off.
I couldn’t wait to see Erica, there was a lot that I wanted to say to her that I didn’t get to say the
last time she was here because of how carried away we had both been.
