Saving his daughter

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-10-15

-Nebraska?- Hades couldn’t believe his wife was there- What are you doing here? How did you find us?- he was stunned. It had taken hours for them to find the place where Priscilla was locked up and she had arrived… so easily.
The she-wolf looked over her shoulder at him. Her violet eyes were anything but that color. They were completely golden and absent of irises. And by the good frown, both alphas knew the she-wolf wasn’t upset, which followed.
-Priscilla is my daughter, do you think I wouldn’t find her– her tone was harsh and though it was not at all pleasant to hear, Hades swallowed a growl. His she-wolf was in a state that it was better not to provoke her or even he himself would have consequences.
Layan sensed the thick atmosphere between the pair but stayed out of it. Nebraska was no pushover and especially not when it came to her pups. He had once nearly ripped her throat out when she had only hinted at murdering him, many years ago. And he imagined that after arriving and finding the scene the least she would be happy about it.
Still he was extremely worried and having Nebraska there was a fight with himself, of also being worried about her and at the same time feeling reassured that she had her way of dealing with things, not rationally like any of them would. She was an omega after all. But his doubts were obfuscated when Nebraska took several steps in the direction of his daughter.
Hades tried to grab her arm to stop her but was interceded by Layan.
-Get out of the way,- he growled at the red-haired wolf who didn’t flinch. He could feel the fear of losing the two women he loved the most and not being able to do anything.
-Trust her. If we didn’t do something to help Pris, she’d surely have something in mind, otherwise she wouldn’t be here. It is Nebraska after all.
Hades knew how strong his she-wolf was, but the panic couldn’t fade him so easily. He was the alpha of his pack. He had grown up with the idea that he was supposed to protect and get things done. Not the others. So he forced himself to trust his mate again praying to the big moon that neither of them would get hurt.
And Nebraska intended to live up to his expectations.
Her daughter was suffering in front of her. Given how events were unfolding she would ask a lot of explanations from them, especially Layan. She would make him lick the floor if she didn’t explain properly how they had come to all this. But it wasn’t time for that.
Now the goal was to help Priscilla by any means necessary.
With determined steps he began to approach his daughter, where the concentration of power was much stronger. He could even smell how their pheromones were dispersed. Their zeal. That complicated things even more. She-wolves were very vulnerable in that state.
-Priscilla,- he dragged the younger one’s attention putting pressure on her consciousness and saw reaction from her as Priscilla’s body jolted.
That indicated that she was the one in command.
The omega took another two steps. The hot embers of fuero brushed against her skin but the ice made them turn cold at the same time. As if Priscilla was making the effort not to burn her.
-Priscilla said through clenched teeth, pressing her head so hard that blood was now coming out of her ears.
Nebraska’s heart was breaking to see her like that in that state. Her naked body covered in blood, bruised, and wounds closing and opening and shaking from the suffering. His poor puppy, because of him she was yes.
He pursed his lips in a thin line.
-Priscilla, I’m sorry,- and Nebraska held up a hand.
Her hair ruffled, there was a rustle, and all was still.

The flames were gone, the cold and the heat were gone, and only Priscilla’s body remained motionless until it fell on its side, completely limp.
Nebraska also staggered.
Layan and Hades ran, one holding his wife and the other taking Priscilla’s unconscious body in his arms.
-Nebraska?- Hades carried his wife and let her lay her head on his shoulder. She was panting slightly and her narrowed eyes were returning to their natural color.
-I’m fine,- she gasped and blinked several times.
-What did you do?- this time it was Layan’s voice that echoed in the cave. He had Priscilla against his chest and although he was shaking her slightly, she was not reacting.
-She’s not going to wake up,- Nebraska said flatly.
The two wolves looked at her with wide eyes.
-Why,- Layan’s voice trembled, -WHY WILL MY WOLF NOT WAKE UP?- she couldn’t help but scream. The panic of losing Priscilla was there again, he had already lost count of how many times this scene had been repeated.
-Nebraska gasped and patted Hades’ arm to get him to put her down.
He was reluctant but in the end put her on the ground even though his arm was holding her waist from behind. She felt him tense even though he was someone who contained his worries.
-She’s fine, for the moment,- he said at last in an attempt to reassure them, -I just put her body to sleep permanently. I turned off most of her brain functions. Only the most basic ones are dormant. He won’t open his eyes until I allow it.
-That… is good… or bad…- Layan held her tightly against him and pulled them closer.
-It depends,- she glared at them, -She’s my daughter, I’ll keep her safe, but there’s something inside her and in her normal state I couldn’t even stay fully conscious, her powers, her zeal, that’s inside her. You two are going to have to explain a lot to me and only then will we see what to do.
Her voice was flat and shook both of them, both wolves. If they hid anything from her it would definitely not come out good. Although in this case it was better to say everything, maybe they could find an answer fast.
Nebraska stroked her daughter’s cheek while Hades did the same with her head. Layan noticed the concern of the two parents and felt guilty. Part of why this had happened was because he hadn’t been paying attention. Now Priscilla’s life was in danger.
It wasn’t time to blame. It was time to act fast. Because, although it was now under control since Priscilla’s body was unresponsive, it was still inside her.

Nebraska listened to the whole story while his hands caressed the hair of his daughter lying behind him.
-I see,- she said after they both finished telling everything. From start to finish, although Layan omitted some intimate things. He only said the most important things related to Liam and mind control and the development of Priscilla’s powers.
Still, he couldn’t stop Nebraska from standing up and being able to stand in front of him. And before he could react her knee slammed into his most sensitive part of his body his crotch, so hard that Layan thought his offspring would be in danger.
