Unexpected visits

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-10-15

At the loud growl that shook the entire floor Priscila blinked several times and raised an eyebrow. Wow, this was new.
-Layan, are you sure you’re feeling all right? You’re very strange today- she crossed her arms in front of her chest- And don’t growl at me like that, I’m on your side, not on the other side of the pack-
The alpha turned around with a frown on his face and the tips of his fangs protruding from the edge of his lips.
-What do you need Litus for?
-What, now you’re going to play the jealous partner? Because the truth doesn’t suit you. You didn’t mind that I was close to other males before, I don’t see why it bothers you now, besides, if I need Litus it’s for something important–.
Her words made Layan’s eyes slowly take on a yellowish color.
-Don’t tempt my patience Priscilla. Tell me what need Litus has to leave his pack to come here?
She snorted and tossed her hair back.
-The truth is, a lot, and even more so after what I have to tell him. Don’t insist, I’m not going to tell you.
-I didn’t know you had that kind of confidence with him.
Priscilla’s face darkened and Layan knew that maybe she had spoken too much.
-If it is what you are imagining I hope you discard the thought as soon as possible because I will not tolerate it,- her voice was low, three guards who were passing by turned around to avoid passing near the dense atmosphere between the alpha and the one everyone thought he wanted his future queen, -Litus was in charge of taking care of me all the years I was frozen and he is one of the ones who can help me the most with my powers. I don’t have romantic feelings no matter how alpha and attractive he is- -I didn’t mean to-.
-I didn’t mean to… -Layan tried to ease the tension after sighing but was interrupted.
-I’m going to ask you a question and I’d like you to answer it,- her silver eyes were almost luminous and focused directly on him, -Do I look like an easy female,- he said.
Layan stood still, not moving, not speaking. Concentrating to breathe. No, of course not. Priscilla was not an easy she-wolf. With her body, beauty and power she could have anyone she wanted. But no, she had only been chasing him and quite insistently. He was the stupid one who hadn’t realized it in time.
He shook his head slowly.
-Good thing you’re clear on that. The only wolf I’ve allowed to touch me, lick me, kiss me, bite me is you, or don’t you remember what you do to me every night? What you did to him yesterday-
She had heard the story from Victore, of the separation of the wild side and Layan’s conscious side but she refused to think that the wolf remembered absolutely nothing of what he did to her every night leaving her exhausted in bed, even if they didn’t get to the end. And to her surprise the look on Layan’s face threw her off.
-What did you say?- the alpha was not delusional, something had to happen to justify waking up with Priscila’s scent between his arms and fingers, with the taste of her in his mouth, but from there to what she was saying….
Priscilla’s arms fell to either side of his body.
-Do you really don’t remember anything?- she started to move towards him and Layan with how confused he was now with that question what he did was to step back -Do you really don’t remember how you touch me, what you do to me? How yesterday you were very insistent and didn’t let me leave the room? That you lay on top of me in your animal form, that you almost destroyed my back? None of that do you remember?
With her every word Layan’s brain short-circuited. It would be wonderful if every single thing she was telling him she had actually done but the more he delved into her mind the less he found. It was as if there was a barrier that wouldn’t let him go any further, like the wall that cut off his passage behind him. His body was trapped between it and that of the she-wolf who put a hand tightly to the side of his face. Priscilla’s brow furrowed.
-Do you want to drive me crazy Layan?
And Layan for his part said nothing, he just stared at her until finally the words left his lips.
-Did I do all that to you?- he asked more to himself than to Priscilla.
The she-wolf relaxed her face. There was no point in going on with it since she had proven that it was indeed her wild side that was behind her, not her conscientious side. She pulled her hand away from the wall to turn around, ending the conversation, but Layan’s arm wrapped around her waist and spun her around, leaving her against the wall. He leaned closer but did not let go.
-If you say that all that happened, why can’t I remember,- Layan’s voice was barely a whisper, with his face almost close to the she-wolf, and in his eyes, she could see the hint of desperation.
This time Priscilla was the one who could not speak. She didn’t know if she was the right one to tell him what Victore had been explaining to her. It wasn’t as if she fully understood either. But one thing she was sure of, Layan made her head hurt.
-Pricila I…- Layan started to speak to when he was interrupted.
-PRISCILA- a male voice was heard at the back of the hallway and they both looked to the side.
One of them pursed his lips at the interruption , it was an important moment in the conversation and he needed answers. While the other smiled broadly, a smile that was far from fictitious.
Priscilla, with agility unwrapped herself from Layan’s arms and ran off, as if she were a puppy in the direction of the newly arrived wolf and climbed on top of him. She hugged him tightly and her legs wrapped around his waist.
-I didn’t expect this welcome, but I’m also happy to see you,- the wolf smiled and gave a resounding kiss on the younger wolf’s cheek.
Layan slowly approached towards the two of them to be focused by not two silver orbs, but four.
-Hello Leoxi
Leoxi, Commander of the silver pack, brother of Hade and uncle of the she-wolf in his arms pulled his niece tighter to him possessively. He was not very pleased with the image he had seen when he had entered the hallway. Especially because of the closeness between them. Priscilla may have looked like an adult wolf but she was still his pup.
-Hello alpha Layan,- she gave a nod of her head without the slightest intention of letting go of her niece.
-What’s the reason for your visit, any message from Hades?
Leoxi shook her head.
-He came to bring me something I asked my mother to send me,- Priscilla looked at him over her shoulder and then leaned her head on the curve of her uncle’s neck.
-You didn’t tell me anything,- Layan didn’t question her, but he liked to be in control of what was going on in the pack.
-Maybe someone gave me the opportunity. I don’t think so,- she smiled, -Uncle, let’s go to my room,- she said to Leoxi and he nodded his head.
-Alpha, if you’ll excuse me,- and he turned around and walked away.
Layan stood there watching them both walk away. On Priscilla’s face was a smile, one she had never given him. And somehow his chest tightened. He reached into his pockets and turned to walk back to his office and that’s when he remembered that she had asked him for things from there.

Priscilla buried her face in her uncle’s neck which pushed her further up, and breathed in. The familiar smell was pleasant but there was not only that of the wolf.
-Uncle Leoxi, you smell like my brother,- she pulled away from him a little, which made him have to hold her tight to keep from dropping her. She was not as small as before.
-Well, let’s say that your brother and I are kind of in another stage of our relationship,- she said.
Priscilla smiled and kissed his cheek.
-I imagine that my dad almost killed you when he found out– Priscila smiled and kissed her cheek.
-Your father is… complicated but the queen has him tamed, so there’s no more problem– Leoxi laughed.
-As long as you take care of my big brother, I don’t think I’ll have to freeze you.
Leoxi tilted his head in amusement.
-Well, changing the subject, I brought you what I asked your mother but more important than that… how are you doing with Layan? he grimaced, -Give me the good news that you’re already disenchanted. Although you smell of him everywhere.
Priscilla’s smile was a bit smaller. Where to start. It was a complicated question especially since there were things she didn’t understand herself. And it wasn’t like she could tell her uncle everything they did behind closed doors when they weren’t yet a formal couple.

Layan saw Leoxi coming down the stairs and stood in front of him. He hadn’t seen him since yesterday when the commander had arrived. It had felt weird sleeping alone. Especially since it was impressive how quickly he had adapted to sleeping with pleasant warmth beside him. Result he had hardly slept at all.
-Priscilla is in her room?
-Yes, I just came to bring her something she wanted and to give her some family news,- Leoxi stretched.
-Did you sleep with her?- Layan’s tone was possessive.
-We are family and Pris used to sleep with any of us at night, so it’s normal that if I come we sleep together.
Layan narrowed his eyes slightly to realize that he was getting jealous of an idea in his mind.
-Alpha, I’m leaving, I have a lot of work to do in my pack and my brother can hardly cope with it. He’s exhausted.
-Say hello to him and to Nebraska.
The commander nodded and walked out the door and away into the distance.
Layan didn’t know how long he stood in the doorframe. Just staring off into the distance and thinking mostly about what Priscilla had told him concerning what he didn’t remember. His head hurt a little but no matter how hard he tried there wasn’t a single clue of those memories.
He felt frustrated.
-Alfaaaaaaaa- Victore’s voice in the distance made him raise his head.
He came walking next to Kei and behind them, the person he least wanted to see at that moment.
Litus had arrived.
