jealousy attack

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-10-15

In love.
Love.
-What is that?- Priscilla asked catching the beta off guard.
Kei blinked in confusion.
-Sorry princess, I didn’t understand.
-I mean… what does it feel like to be in love?- the question was innocent but that didn’t take away the weight of her words.
Unexpectedly Kei’s always serious and beautiful face blushed.
-It’s a complicated thing to explain princess, but you must feel it with the alpha,- she said.
Priscilla bowed her head.
-Kei, I have no emotions. I don’t know what it is to love someone. I don’t understand why they get nervous when they are next to the wolf they like, nor the reason to smile when they just caress each other, or give each other a simple kiss on the cheek- -Priscilla said.
For a moment Kei felt sorry for her. How hard it was to live being an empty shell. He didn’t usually show much of what he felt either but there was nothing better than what he harbored for Victore. His stomach clenched every time he saw him and his mind went blank, but through it all, he would never deny his feelings.
-Forget it- Priscilla shook her head interrupting his thoughts -Go, someone is waiting for you… -she smiled at him and it wasn’t the usual cold smile.
It was a warmer and more welcoming one. One that made her look even more beautiful than she already was. If it wasn’t because he liked Victore, not because he was male but because of who he was. And also that she wasn’t his alpha’s she-wolf he might consider being attracted to her. But he had said so. If she wasn’t.
Priscilla waited for him to disappear to hide her smile. Lately she didn’t have to force it as much as she used to. It was more natural and it felt good to do so. Her mind still hadn’t disconnected from the situation before.
She always proclaimed that Layan was hers but really what was it that she felt for him? Somehow, his touching her was exhilarating. Being by his side meant she could rest as all her powers plus the voices in her head completely disappeared.
She knew she wanted him by her side, but deep down, if she had feelings, would she love him?
She rubbed her head. This was no time for that. In the end, from there until her emotions really returned completely was a long time away. It was capable of her life span reaching its limit and these remained buried deep inside her.
-Well, since I’m alone, it’s time for me to move,- her eyes twinkled, -Liam, let’s see what surprise box you’re in,- she let her fangs out and walked in the opposite direction of Kei.
This time she was alone. No wolf was following her. It was better this way. Having someone saying in her mind what she was doing precisely at that moment was something that broke her concentration.
Of course and as she imagined she was once again the center of attention in the village so she knew Layan would be informed of where she was. She had disobeyed his order so it was 100% certain that he would wait for her again? To scold her? That was the least of it. He had no record that the more she got mad at her the more she wanted to annoy him.
She just looked really sexy when she frowned and her eyes changed color.
Priscilla walked for more than half an hour through the herd with no results. She focused her mind on finding someone to resist his intrusion into her thoughts, but so far she was empty-handed. So far all the adult wolves he had checked out were like open books.
And this was going to take him longer than usual. Layan’s pack was much larger than his father’s especially in the layout of the houses and the wolves’ own establishments where one could sit and hang out as some did.
There was a lot of movement, everything was full of life and yet they still dodged it. She was aware that the males were looking at her much more than the she-wolves. Some up and down as if devouring her with their eyes. There was even a hint of lust in their eyes.
Perhaps it was her scent. Her scent was close. Even Layan was being affected but she imagined it would be stronger on him because of the bond but apparently it was general.
He rounded the corner when someone slammed into his stomach and for the second time Priscina was on the ground, this time with her butt on the gravel.
-I’m sorry,- the voice she heard recognized her and she looked up to meet it with that of the puppy from that time. The same one that had bumped into her.
-It seems our paths are destined to merge,- she said, getting up and wiping the back of her pants. At least this time it hadn’t torn.
The puppy pursed his lips and almost wanted to curl into a ball. Priscilla realized that maybe she should be afraid of him given the comments that had been engulfing her lately so she raised her hand.
The boy saw the shadow above him and squeezed and closed his eyes tightly to receive a light caress on his head. Priscilla was shaking her dark hair full of black curls. He opened his eyes and looked up in confusion.
-Are you all right?- he heard her ask.
A grin broke out on the puppy’s mouth and he grabbed her hand and pulled her by the hand. Priscilla was surprised by this but didn’t protest. Not when it was the talk of the pack again. Like it could get tiring.
The little guy led her towards a small terrace with a few tables. There were hardly any wolves there but at the bottom she found one drinking something from a glass.
-Brother,- the puppy cried out, shaking his other little hand.
At that he raised his head and walked quickly to where they were.
-Alim, don’t you drag people like that? How many times do I have to tell you?
-But brother Antoin,- he pouted, -I just wanted to show it to you.
The wolf raised his head and focused on Priscilla. His dark eyes swept up and down her, not unlike the males of the pack before.
-And she is she?- his tone was indescribable.
The beautiful she-wolf I bumped into that time. See, I told you she was very pretty,- her eyes sparkled.
Priscilla just appreciated the scene calmly. In front of her were two wolves, one adult, but still young, and the other small. Both shared similar features, dark hair with soft curls and almost black eyes. Their pelts were abnormally pale, it made her suddenly remember her brothers and for some reason she wanted to see them at that very moment. Too bad they weren’t around.
But that wasn’t what caught her attention.
She wasn’t interested in the physique of any more wolves besides her own, Layan was extremely hot, she didn’t have to go out looking for anything better. But that wasn’t what that wolf understood as he felt the weight of her gaze on him.
He smiled at her in a flirtatious way. In another moment Priscilla would have rejected him but she had found an interesting specimen so she smiled back.
-Please- he grabbed the puppy and placed it in front of him- Excuse my brother, he’s a bit impulsive and might have upset her. He bowed his head.
Priscilla felt his scent enveloping her, as if she was feeling the ground. As if she were not an available candidate.
-He didn’t bother me. We only bumped into each other more than once,- he said with his usual indifference.
-And I don’t remember seeing her before.
Wow, like there were those who didn’t know of her existence. Strange. Just as well.
-I’m just visiting. I belong to another pack.
A disappointed expression appeared on Antoin’s face.
-It’s a pity,- he said dejectedly.
Priscilla raised an eyebrow.
-Why do you say that? You’ve only just met me.
He stroked his brother’s head.
-Because when Alim described you I imagined someone beautiful, I never thought the reality was more shocking than the image I had in my mind. You are really beautiful and you smell too good,- she blurted out bluntly.
-I’m just an average she-wolf,- Priscilla felt the mood was getting right and did what she had been planning for a few minutes.
But
Her power was obfuscated when an abnormal weight settled on her shoulders possessively as did the scent of annoying male that overshadowed whatever was on top of her at that precise moment. A growl rumbled beside her.
-Alpha,- Antoin’s voice trembled and he pulled his brother behind him trembling.
-He pulled Priscilla closer to him. Her scent was like a waterfall that poured over her and around her bounding the terrain.
-Alpha, I didn’t know she was yours,- he lowered his head, he was really scared.
Rarely could Layan be seen so upset to the point that his eyes were those of his animal form.
-Go away,- he ordered.
He didn’t want to see that wolf’s face. It was enough that he was upset that Priscilla had disobeyed his orders for I don’t know what reason and had left the castle alone. And to be the straw that broke the camel’s back he found her being seduced by not only that wolf, he had already perceived a long list of many that had her in their sights. She couldn’t stop her wild side from taking over and marking the ground that only he could tread.
Antoin didn’t even look at the she-wolf again. He grabbed his brother who also looked terrified and ran off.
Layan watched him go and clicked his tongue. He had acted on impulse. He had gotten so used to Priscilla herself being the one who wouldn’t allow anyone near him that when someone did he was the one who exploded. For sure this would cost him and a lot having to put up with her teasing him for somehow professing to be his.
What he didn’t expect was for his arm to be hit hard removing it from the narrow shoulders, for the scent of the she-wolf to turn rancid given her fury and for her to focus on him with her eyes so cold that it even chilled his soul.
-Bad time for a jealous attack Layan-.
The alpha was incredulous.
What the hell?
