Priscila is my …

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-10-15

It was time and Nebraska knew it. She had long hidden who Priscilla really was and the one standing in front of her was not just any wolf. Besides being the one who had bitten her he was also the leader of the Council, he was supposed to be above them all. The magnate voice of all the alphas. If he kept stalling no matter how well they got along there would be trouble.
-Layan, I’ll be clear while we’re in this situation. There are two things you need to know about Priscilla- she looked at her husband seeking his affirmation which he gave her, after all he was alpha and the father of her cub.
At Nebraska’s more serious tone than usual, Layan took a firmer stance on the couch and listened carefully. His well-developed instincts told him that this would not be a pleasant thing to hear. Nebraska took a deep breath.
-This is something even Hades doesn’t know in detail because I never told him before,- even the alpha of the silver pack paid attention, Nebraska didn’t keep secrets from him, that she did was because she had her reasons. She continued, -It was during the battle against Rudoc, by that time I was already expecting Priscila inside my womb-.
-Layan narrowed his eyes, if he had known before he wouldn’t have let her participate, and if things had gone the wrong way it wouldn’t only be a life that would have been lost.
-Priscilla was the one who helped me defeat Liam,- her statement made the two males tense.
-Layan smiled uncomfortably.
Nebraska denied and told them in detail how the fight between the three members had unfolded and how Priscilla had acted as both a shield and a catalyst for their powers. He also hadn’t left out the part about how he had met her in her adult form and how he had spoken concerning what belonged to her, Layan. Nebraska could have sworn the aforementioned was pale as a sheet.
-Are you telling me that your daughter since she was less than a seed is promulgating that I am hers,- her voice came out soft.
Hades at her side now understood why her daughter’s supposed obsession with Layan since she was very young even without knowing him. She already knew him before.
-Priscilla is much stronger than me,- Nebraska declared, -The blood of all the alphas she had consumed permeated her.
Layan was thoughtful. Perhaps he already knew why Priscilla’s obsession with him. It wasn’t love or anything like it. Of all the bloods Nebraska had taken the strongest was his as far, if the pup had absorbed them into her body, that simply meant that his blood within her called to Layan’s. That would explain the affinity with her person and if he analyzed it well, it would be permanent until such time as it was diluted among Priscilla’s blood when she grew up. It was a hypothesis, he wasn’t too sure especially about the second part.
After biting her he had felt it. Her blood was strong and powerful and the reason he had liked her so much was because of her compatibility with him. He bit his lower lip and breathed. The situation was getting out of hand, it wasn’t as easy as he thought. It wasn’t a matter of simply breaking the bond. If he calculated right, as strong as he was his blood would refuse to leave his system, so didn’t that mean that Priscilla would always be on the lookout for him?
-Layan, Layan,- he heard Nebraska’s voice calling him and reacted.
-What was the second thing,- he tried not to look uncomfortable after discovering where everything was going. It was really fate when it played its cards, it was hard to get rid of him.
Nebraska looked at Hades again and this time he was the one who started talking, as an alpha and knowing Layan it was preferable that he touched on this sensitive subject.
-There was an event that we hid when Priscilla was 10 years old,- his voice was flat, -That day something got past the pack borders and could not be stopped.
-What was it?
Hades shook his head.
-I don’t know, it had the shape of a wolf but at the same time it wasn’t, its body blurred by the moment and no matter how much we attacked it there was no damage. In a moment it managed to disappear from in front of us and ran into the backyard. Noa, Alan and Priscila were there.
-Layan narrowed his eyes wondering if that thing had laid a hand on the puppy, as soon as he realized what was running through his mind he dismissed the idea.
Again Hades denied and that threw him off balance.
-The truth is that when we arrived we did find Alan injured,- his voice cracked a little as he said this, -But the one who was dead was the wolf,- he said.
Layan blinked in confusion.
-Who killed him?
-Priscilla- continued Nebraska receiving Layan’s confused look- That was the first time her power showed itself, and rather, it was like a manifestation of mine but much stronger- she didn’t want to go into details about her ability but it wasn’t the time to hide details- My power allows not only to calm wolves in madness, the truth is that it manipulates the mind making them do my will. It took me years to be able to control it completely and even then killing someone is not so easy, it requires more strength than an omega has. But Priscilla without training snapped the wolf’s neck just by wiggling her fingers.
Now Layan was really shocked.
-And why the hell didn’t they tell me that before -he had to use all his willpower not to scream. The puppy was sleeping a few meters away from them.
-We never thought this would get out of control,- Hades clasped his hands in his lap, -Nebraska has been training her with good results, but this time she really went beyond our planning.
Layan took a deep breath as the door was knocked. Hades lifted him up and made way for Caesar who came with a tired face after treating the other members of the pack.
-Alpha, I’ve come to check on the princess.
He went to the bed and sat on the edge taking her hand and feeling for a pulse. The other three wolves stood by her side waiting for his diagnosis, but Caesar’s face became paler.
-This is not good,- he declared and Nebraska found herself unsteady. Hades circled her waist.
Caesar pressed a hand to her forehead, then to the pulse in her neck, then to her chest.
-Alpha, this is worse than I imagined,- he said.
-What’s wrong with her?- Hades asked through gritted teeth.
Caesar hesitated in Layan’s presence but Nebraska nodded that he could talk.
-Well, there are two problems,- it wasn’t one, it was two, too much for the parents, -First it seems to me that we have to do something fast, today Priscilla awakened another power, it’s consuming her body faster than I thought,- he said.
-Consuming her body? – Layan arched an eyebrow- What haven’t they told me yet?
Caesar pursed his lips.
-Alpha, the princess’s development is five times faster than a normal wolf, and now with each one it seems to me that it has accelerated. Our prognoses indicate that she will come of age in a very short time, by that I mean months, her first heat ten years from now, and death in a little longer if her body doesn’t get stronger.
-What do you mean, death?- Layan let out an uncomfortable laugh.
-His tissues can’t keep up with his accelerated development, his life expectancy is 100 years or maybe a little less if the situation keeps getting worse.
Layan looked at Hades and Nebraska who could not return it. Their faces were pale. They were aware of all that and had said nothing.
Priscilla will live 100 years. Only 100 years. A sigh for a wolf. Wasn’t that good for him. He wouldn’t even have to break the bond. He mentally slapped himself so hard he staggered. What the hell was he thinking? His chest tightened so tight he was short of breath. The brat would disappear from his sight, he would no longer have her declaring him as hers. It was unreal.
-What’s the other thing?- he heard Nebraska speak, her voice came out steady but her hands clutched at her clothes with white knuckles.
-I think the princess…..
-Mommy- the puppy’s voice came out between slight sobs- Mom- she called her back and Caesar made room for the queen to sit next to her daughter.
-What’s wrong, precious?- he ran his hand over Priscila’s sweat-damp forehead.
-Mom, they won’t stop, they won’t shut up, it’s too noisy,- he said.
The four adult wolves looked at each other in confusion. There was no sound in the room or anything disturbing that they could detect with their ears. But they remembered that she had yelled for them to be quiet in the living room before everything got out of control.
-Who won’t shut up?- Hades leaned over to her and touched her cheek with tears.
-The voices in my head- the elders blinked- they talk a lot, they say many things, they don’t shut up, they don’t let me sleep- some sobs came out of his throat- it hurts a lot-
Priscila massaged his temple but she didn’t know if it was working.
-That’s what I was referring to before,- Cesar concluded.
-And what can be done? Nebraska looked over his shoulder.
-He had bitten her, he could deal with it, but he was not sure if it would work. He had bitten her, he could deal with controlling her by calling her every time she was on the edge but he didn’t know what to do with this new symptom- In the council are all those who have to do with the powers that are inside her, maybe this way we will find a solution- -If we take her to the council we will find a solution.
-If we take her to the Council they will take reprimands against her,- Nebraska declared without letting go of her daughter’s hand. Her brow furrowed painfully, she knew how tough the wolf laws were and Priscilla had killed as a cub and they had hidden it.
-That won’t happen- Layan turned his back to them- Priscilla is my temporary bond, no one can touch her unless I allow it and I promised you she would be safe. So trust me. I am the leader of the Council, but I also have family-
Layan had definitely changed.
