The Dangerous Obsession: LYSANDER
After thinkin’ of a way to go ’bout this for many days, I just came up with an answer. The realization of the answer I came up with brought a smile to my face.
Accordin’ to what I figured, the woman I was after had started comin’ out of the house unlike what it used to be before. This made me smile, also knowin’ how I could use all of these to my advantage, and without any hesitation, I started plannin’ all of these.
It was a day to the day I would visit the market Nyssa visited every three days accordin’ to my research and those who gave the information to me.
Fear was my name at this point, but I managed to shrug it off and was rather ready to claim the woman back for myself. If she could accept my love for her again, she would move back into the house with me and we would plan a future without her in it.
“Yes.”
In the kitchen, I said and finished up with makin’ breakfast.
The words from the man who talked ’bout my time expirin’ haunted me and the urge to deal with ‘im was more than overwhelmin’, but there was no way I would do a thing like that. Not when I happened to be the most hated man in the world of art as the case happened to be.
At the dinin’ table, I went through my phone. My eyes fixed on the screen and I watched the last livestream Nyssa Draven had with her fans. Fans that should be my fans, but it’s the other way around. Then, I went through the comment and confirmed that she made it to the market every three days. This time around, there was a reply from her confirmin’ to the person that what he said was true, makin’ me lose my appetite but rather concentrate on the words I’ll use when we get to meet.
Why am I suddenly obsessed with a woman I shouldn’t be with?! Standin’ on my feet, I threw the spoon in my hand at a wall. This shouldn’t be happenin’ and there was me who found myself comin’ back to it against my wish. Pickin’ the spoon up from the floor, I threw it at the wall once more, leavin’ a loud shout runnin’ out of my mouth as I sat back on the chair to think.
I will leave for the market tomorrow.
It was far better than me goin’ to the Estate. An area I’m sure the cameras were back to their duties. After these thoughts, I started eatin’ once more. These thoughts ’bout Nyssa Draven were gone from my head and I spent my day paintin’ in the small art studio I have built in my apartment.
After these, I made up my mind to take a walk through the Estate. What if my neighbors didn’t recognize me? That would be the end of my reign in finality, I thought, and made up my mind to finally walk out after grabbin’ my mobile device, but turnin’ it off so I didn’t go through her page, or check out the live stream that may be happenin’, as well as the nasty comments ’bout me happenin’ under the streams.
“Hello, Lysander.”
Snappin’ out of my thoughts, I turned around to meet the gaze of a neighbor who ran in my direction. “It’s unusual of you to go for walks. Do you want to tell me what changed your mind today?” Chucklin’, the man joined me for my walk. “How are you doin’ today, also? It’s been a long time since I set my eyes on you.”
“Oh, yeah,” I nodded. “Thank you, Gabriel. I’m doin’ very well. How are you doin’? I thought I should take a walk today and nothin’ more. Can’t recall the last time I walked out of the house if you asked me.”
“You should do that often, you know.”
He was right.
It was good of me to walk out of the house once in a while, which I was doin’. I looked at ‘im and gave a nod, while we made our way through the Estate, talkin’ ’bout everythin’ except art.
Then, I almost lost it when he asked.
“Do you mind me askin’, Lysander? I know your issues aren’t my business and at the same time, I care so much ’bout you. You know?” He chuckled at me who wondered what it was ’bout, but gave a nod so that he could proceed with his question.
“It’s ’bout the new art spotlight,” he began, makin’ me nod as though I knew what he was up to. “She’s goin’ viral day by day and somehow, I’m scared you’re losin’ your place on the internet. Didn’t you think ’bout that when it started, Lysander?”
I looked around, in search of the camera. Maybe it was a trap and he was sent by Nyssa herself. Or does he have a machine inside with ‘im, somethin’ Nyssa can hear from on the other end?
Does he expect me to tell ‘im ’bout my plans?
“Lysander?”
I was snapped out of my thoughts. Our gazes met and I put on a smile, shakin’ my head. “I don’t think there’s an issue with that, Gabriel. All I care ’bout is my reputation and I’ll not do anythin’ to have it in the mud if you know what I mean. Maybe it’s her turn, you know. It’s all by turns and this could be hers.”
“Are you happy ’bout it?”
“If you’re me, will you?” I asked the man and increased my jog pace. “I am not so happy, and happy at the same time. There’s nothin’ I can do ’bout it, or is there?” I stopped to breathe while he did the same.
“It’s a good thing to know you won’t do anythin’ wrong,” he mouthed. “I’m proud of you, Lysander. This time is goin’ to pass, after all. If you know what I mean.” He assured me who smiled outside, while inside all I felt was pure anger. Not only at Nyssa but at ‘im for remindin’ me of my issues. Who does he think he is? A motivational speaker?
At the end of the day, I was back in my apartment. I felt better, especially motivated to do what I must do to the woman so that she could get off my way. Of all I felt, the more I felt ’bout bein’ motivated was anger towards myself. Anger for not doin’ what I should have done a long time ago.
What was I thinkin’?
I shrugged my thoughts and caught up with the door of my bedroom. Shuttin’ the door, I grabbed my towel from the wardrobe before headin’ to the bathroom for my bath. By the time I came out, I walked back to the same wardrobe where my outfit for the night was taken, as well as my operation the next day.
At the end of the day, I was smilin’.
What will happen tomorrow?
This and many more thoughts ran around in my head, and I relaxed on one of the couches in the livin’ room, fixin’ my gaze on the screen of the television, makin’ up words in my head.
Words that would make the woman leave the guy finally, and come in with me where she would be finished. For all that I knew, she was takin’ my place on the internet and I was certain she had a fill – meanin’ it was my time to take over once more.
The next day came.
After doin’ everythin’ I believe I needed to do in the house, I knew I was ready to meet with Nyssa after not settin’ eyes on her since a long time ago.
