Upon hearing the voice, Ulric abruptly lifted his handsome face and looked at her.
His suit was wrinkled, and the buttons of his shirt were torn off, his once deep and dark eyes were now bloodshot, like a trapped beast in the long-awaited darkness, suppressed yet sharp, suffocating.
“You lied to me, didn’t you?”
Rosalind frowned, “What?”
“You didn’t really want to choose Malcolm, you were just angry, weren’t you?”
She quickly withdrew her hand, instantly concealing all emotions that cared for him, pretending to be impatient, “I thought Mr. Walters could handle it and let it go, but it turns out he’s also a lover who likes to entangle others! It’s just a pity that I don’t want to continue this play anymore-mm!”
Before Rosalind could finish her words, Ulric’s aggressive kiss pressed down.
It swallowed up all the remaining words she had, the ones he didn’t want to hear.
Ulric’s kiss was urgent, devoid of desire or skill, only the taste of rusty blood as if someone’s lips had been split open.
He desperately sought her response, worshiping her lips and tongue over and over again, wishing to engulf her entire being into his own body.
But Rosalind was like a puppet, allowing him to manipulate and take from her.
The intoxicated Ulric was unwilling, and the kiss became even more intense. He pinned her down on the carpet, holding her hands firmly above her head.
He lost his sanity and began tearing at her clothes.
Until they faced each other honestly, until he entered her body, Rosalind pushed his chest and started to evade.
“Ulric, I came here to sign the divorce agreement with you, I’m not a prostitute!”
But their strengths were vastly different. His chest was hard and solid. In her desperation, Rosalind could only raise her hand and slap him across the face–
Ulric froze completely, all movements stopped.
Rosalind didn’t expect herself to hit him. She was somewhat afraid after all. She was facing a drunken man who had lost his sanity when he kissed her. It wasn’t surprising that he would do anything now.
But–
Ulric still didn’t say anything harsh to her.
He couldn’t say it.
The two of them just stared at each other as time flowed by.
“Have you made up your mind? Choose Malcolm.”
He spoke again, still this sentence.
“Yes.”
When Rosalind nodded, she clearly saw a string in Ulric’s eyes snap, shattering into pieces…
He silently retreated and turned his back to give her time to get dressed.
“Our marriage is contractual. There are breach clauses in it.”
“I know.” Rosalind buttoned up her clothes. “I will find a way to pay you back.”
“No need. You just need to agree to one last thing for me, and this agreement will be voided. We… will be even.”
Rosalind hesitated, “What is it?”
“Marrying you was a carefully planned scheme. I was afraid you would suspect something and my parents would intervene, so I deliberately didn’t include the wedding in my plan.”
“…”
“I’ve already contacted the wedding planner and set a date. We’ll have the wedding in the morning and go to the civil affairs bureau for divorce in the afternoon.”
Rosalind clenched her hand tightly, barely suppressing the tears that were about to burst out.
“No need. I don’t want a wedding.”
“This is my request, Rosalind. Can you show some contractual spirit?”
She didn’t say anything but quietly watched his back.
After a long time, she let out a shallow “Hmm.”
