Despite having had six pregnancies, five of them successful, Nebraska was not adjusted to the excessive attention she was receiving in her new herd. It was really stressful for her. And she meant that in both a good way and a bad way.
From the moment she got up she had Hades checking her every move, and she even had to growl at him to at least let her go to the bathroom alone. Intimacy was something she was slowly losing, and she liked to have her space.
And it wasn’t that she didn’t like the attention, it was that it was so much that she was overwhelmed. And it wasn’t just because of Hades, even Sara was there every morning to attend to her, do her hair, help her dress and so on. Nebraska, all her life, depended on herself, so having someone to do that was really strange and uncomfortable.
As a result, he always ended up fleeing to any side of the herd in order to breathe. Hades always had a lot of work to do. There were days when they didn’t even see each other much, except at night, and he would fall into bed so tired that she would be the one to clean and change him. But it was really strange, now that she was halfway through her pregnancy, he had much less to do. Suspicious.
And not only that. Her children had allied with their father to keep her in their sights. So when she ran away she always had one of her pups after her. Therefore, Nebraska would end up so psychologically exhausted that she would let them drag her back to the bedroom or the living room, where they would keep her calm and bring her all kinds of food and concoctions.
The omega understood Hades in part. He was afraid of losing his cub again. He had had very bad experiences in the past. But she was not one of the wolves he had been with before, she was stronger, she was an omega and, moreover, her daughter, inside her being was growing stronger. He felt her every day and how her power increased. So the excessive care was too much exaggerated.
Although it was all until one day when running, escaping from his children who wanted to give him a dark drink, which made every hair on his body stand on end, he came across Leoxi. Her mind lit up and grabbing the wolf by the hand she pulled him back into the room and covered his mouth so he wouldn’t make a sound, after slamming him against the already closed door.
She put her other finger to her lips, signaling silence, and once her cubs passed by, not noticing where their mother had been hiding, she released the twin.
-It’s only because my brother and I get along, because if we didn’t, I can assure you that your alpha could kill me in a heartbeat if he found you here. Hades is quite possessive when he wants to be.
Nebraska raised an eyebrow.
-You’re telling me? I’ve been running from him and his pack since I got pregnant. They won’t let me live.
-But you love this Leoxi’s tone was amused.
Nebraska said nothing, but smiled sideways.
-Keep him quiet she said after walking to the sofa in the room and plopping down to lie down. She put one arm over her eyes and the other hand caressed her already sizable belly, I’ll rest here for a while. I’m sure it’s the place where he’ll look for me the least.
Leoxi sighed. It wasn’t as if he could tell her anything.
-I will keep it a secret, but if my brother finds out I hope he will cover for me.
Nebraska gave a thumbs up in affirmation and settled down to rest in some peace. And all was well, being able to hide from everyone for a week, until one fine day she came out of the room, having slept and bumped into Layan. Of all people, with Layan.
Nebraska’s eyes opened wide as his hands grabbed her before she fell to the ground.
-Hi, gorgeous he smiled broadly, What, you traded your jerk of a husband for his brother? I don’t think it’s a bad choice. The Commander of this pack has more brain cells than the alpha here he said mockingly, earning a kick from the wolf, Ah, Nebraska, don’t be so violent. Being with Hades has rubbed off on you the wolf rubbed his injured calf.
Nebraska turned up her nose and walked past him.
-You deserve it. Don’t offend Hades she walked down the hall.
-Come on, honey, they’re just white offenses, it’s not like he’s going to… Hello Hades he said, pausing with his hands in his pants pockets.
And Nebraska was so distracted that she almost collided with the large body of the alpha, which appeared in front of them as they turned down the aisle.
-Careful he grabbed her shoulders and without wasting time, pulled her to him, wrapping his arm possessively around her waist.
-Don’t start with the marshmallow please, I’m here Layan protested.
Hades barely flinched.
-You can leave if it bothers you. I have to talk to my wife.
Layan then smiled damnably and was going to retaliate for the throbbing pain in his calf.
-Of course, ask him to explain why he leaves your brother’s room.
He added fuel to the fire. Hades stood still, tense and blinking several times, to lower his head and look at his wife. She had a calm violet gaze.
-I had to hide from you and what better place than your brother’s room. So don’t even think of anything else weird.
Hades shuddered.
-I didn’t think anything unusual he justified himself.
-Better this way she made a move and let go of Hades’ grip, Hades knowing what she was going to do.
Nebraska turned and walked wolfishly toward Layan. The alpha didn’t know why, but took two steps back. The queen was someone very unpredictable and no one knew what was going through her mind. Not even Hades. So it didn’t come as a surprise that she stopped in front of him and at the same time raised her fist burying it in his stomach with unnatural force.
-Nebraska you… he groaned in pain.
-I was well trained as a puppy she smiled.
Layan was about to protest, but suddenly his world went black, and he vanished in front of the two wolves. Nebraska looked down at Layan’s now unconscious body that fell to the ground.
-Hades, I didn’t hit him that hard she asked her husband for support.
The alpha approached Layan’s limp body and felt his pulse.
-He’s alive. What a pity.
-Hadeeesssss -Nebraska patted his shoulder with a slight smile for when she had hit him she had felt the power residing in her stomach move in the direction of the alpha. Something was going to happen, but only Layan and his pup would know that.
-So what do we do with this wolf? Take it to my brother’s room? -Hades took the hint.
Nebraska raised an eyebrow.
-Don’t make it an issue. And don’t scold your brother, I was the one who snuck into his room.
Hades kissed her cheek sonorously.
-I’ll let it go this time my she-wolf, but don’t sleep in another male’s room other than mine or your children’s, or I’ll get really jealous.
And Nebraska’s eyes sparkled. Although she already knew how her husband got when he got jealous.

Layan opened his eyes and instead of lying on the ground he found himself in a large meadow full of white flowers. Now that was really new to him. He sat up feeling his body light, so light that he hardly needed to breathe. Was this an illusion or a dream?
He could not define it, but there was one thing he could say. There was a feeling inside his chest that was unknown and that filled him with happiness. He didn’t understand it, because the last thing he remembered was that Nebraska had knocked him out and there was nothing funny or happy about that.
He looked from side to side without finding any trace of life other than himself. Only the meadow stretched much farther around his person. He slicked back his hair, clearing his forehead.
Where was I really? What a strange dream I was having.
But perhaps in dreams one could smell. Because the delicious fragrance that suddenly reached his nose almost drove him crazy. Layan looked everywhere without finding anything.
He began to run following the smell. His chest was pounding. The fragrance was soft, floral, yet alluring and made him growl. He kept running until he stopped suddenly. In the distance he saw something that made him gasp. A black stain rippling through the whiteness of a dress that was lost in the field of white flowers.
And although Layan knew that this was a dream, that he would not remember it later, he could only run over there and embrace the figure in his arms. And as he absorbed the delicious fragrance he opened his lips and a word, just one, came from his lips.
-You are mine.
