Rodrigo was not comfortable with his family even though the truth was already known. He still felt that he had betrayed everyone and always putting himself as the victim was not fair. Rather, it wasn’t fair to even himself, and that hurt him. It hurt him a lot.
Supposedly that day that was supposed to be happy for everyone, was for him a reminder that he shouldn’t be in that family. Because he was just hurting.
-Brother… brother Alan shook his arm at his side, It’s time to go for a run.
Rodrigo nodded. His mother had just married the alpha of the Silver Pack, the only wolf who had filled him with the confidence to tell him the truth. He couldn’t deny that he was happy for her. She deserved it. His mother had suffered so much at the hands of his father, and that this wolf had appeared in her life was the best thing for her and her siblings.
However, he did not deserve it.
So when the run started and all the wolves followed the former alpha of the Silver Pack, Saisen, he advanced a few miles, but in the end he stopped and let the others get away.
He needed to be alone. Without thinking about anything. In the middle of that forest. The only thing that kept him from disappearing completely was the thought that his mother would suffer greatly from the breaking of the bond. If it weren’t for that and that it would create more pain, he would have already vanished from the face of the earth. After all, he didn’t think his siblings would miss him much.
Because it was really hard for you to find out that your brother knew where your mother was from the beginning and hadn’t done something.
He sat with his head down. The moon was beautiful that night, yet it barely filtered through the dense foliage of the forest. He liked it here. It was cozier than his old pack in every way.
If only he didn’t feel so lonely.
-What are you doing here, puppy?
A voice brought him out of his thoughts and he looked over his furry shoulder. A large black wolf appeared out of the trees. Nothing else but its unusual silver orbs set it and the alpha apart from any ordinary wolf.
-Leoxi he muttered and then looked away, I’m not a puppy.
Leoxi didn’t stop and sat down next to him, pushing him a little with her nose.
-You’re right. You haven’t been a puppy for a few years now, but it’s funny to see your reaction when I call you that she teased him.
Rodrigo was going to retort, but he remembered that he had no right to do so. Who was he to claim anything?
-What are you doing here? The herd is running he asked the twin in a low voice.
-But you were not with them.
The wolf’s response stunned him and he raised his head to look him straight in the eye.
-Until you finally look at me Leoxi caressed her nose with his, You looked depressed.
-I… I’m fine Rodrigo recoiled at the Commander’s unusual display of affection, and got up to run away.
-Rodrigo he heard Leoxi shout behind him, but he didn’t stop, Hey, Rodrigo, wait.
But the youngest had already run away. He was not adapted to being given that kind of attention, that kind of affection for he was aware that he felt something strange with the wolf. There was some kind of connection that made his chest vibrate and that was wrong. Very wrong and he didn’t want to feel that. Much less that the twin was following him around like he was now.
Why was she chasing him when he wanted to get away?
Rodrigo panicked and hurried, knowing it was useless. Leoxi’s legs were much longer and stronger than his. Leoxi could double his size by far. And he was the Commander of the pack. Unless he was the alpha he would have no match, not even from the beta.
Still, he didn’t stop and kept running when….
-Watch out he heard from behind him, but it was too late. The void opened up in front of him. It was a steep ravine.
As if his desire to kill himself had been heard, Rodrigo rushed down where there were many trees and branches, which would surely scratch and tear his skin. To his surprise this was not the case. No sooner had he descended about seven meters than the back of his neck was bitten and a furry body wrapped around him, avoiding the impact against a trunk.
Rodrigo heard the wolf that protected him with its body groan in pain, but at least the fall did not go any lower. The smaller wolf raised its head with its ears flat and whimpered in worry. Leoxi had hurt himself because of him. Again.
-Are you all right, puppy? -the twin asked after releasing the back of his neck. His front paws kept him clutched against his chest.
-You’re hurt Rodrigo felt his voice tremble.
-Nothing compared to what I’m used to Leoxi began to move and bit the back of his neck again. With strategic movements she put it under him, between his paws as she turned around.
The slope was extremely steep, although it could be climbed, and it was not so steep that they had descended so far.
-I’m going to go up he said without letting go of the back of her neck, which he bit carefully so as not to hurt her, his fangs were lethal if he wanted to, I’m going to push you and you’ll move along with my body, understand? One false step and we can both fall and the damage will be greater.
Rodrigo nodded and let Leoxi guide him. So, little by little, and although it was not at all comfortable, as he was pulled by his skin and his body was a little bent due to the one above him, they were soon at the top. When Leoxi released him he ran his tongue over the skin a little bruised by his teeth.
Rodrigo stood on his belly against the floor dumbfounded by the Commander’s reaction to him and the gentle way he treated him. So different from how he normally was in training or when he was on duty.
-Let’s go back to the herd she said, bringing her head close to his ear and Rodrigo trembled. His heart pounded without him being able to help it.
-Your back said the younger boy quickly to find another topic of conversation other than the thoughts that at that moment were going around in his head.
-It’s fine Leoxi turned away from him and showed it to him. Because of the thick black fur it couldn’t be seen much, but Rodrigo had smelled blood. He was sure of it.
So he got up and before Leoxi could protest he buried his muzzle in the ground.
through the fur and found it. It wasn’t much, but there were tiny sores in the fur.
-Hey puppy, I’m fine, you don’t have to….
But already Rodrigo was licking over the wounds to clean them. Leoxi couldn’t deny that he felt a shudder cross his entire body when the other wolf’s tongue made contact with him. He said nothing so as not to make him uncomfortable. By the time Rodrigo finished this one had had to think of more than one thing not to do what his instinct really commanded. He looked over his shoulder and smiled at him, showing his fangs.
-Thank you puppy.
-I’m not a puppy Rodrigo had his head down and was licking his nose to remove the traces of blood.
Leoxi approached him and rubbed his head with the younger one’s head.
-You’d better be a puppy for the time being, or I won’t answer to me the joking tone startled Rodrigo, who didn’t understand his words.
But, since that day when the two of them shared only a few strange moments, they were closer than before. Until the day what Leoxi least wanted, and most tried to avoid, related to her heat happened.
