She didn’t catch the rest of Sirena’s words, and then Ulric’s voice came through.
“My mom woke up. I’ll call you back after I finish things here.”
“Okay.”
Rosalind looked at the now dark screen of her phone, feeling more conflicted and confused than ever.
Actually, it would have been better if Johnny hadn’t come to see her and said those things, because she had already planned to divorce Ulric and end this relationship!
But after he said those things, she suddenly didn’t know how to bring up the topic of divorce with Ulric anymore.
He was so careful in protecting her, even when his mother strongly opposed it, he still insisted on not giving up. In contrast, she always found it so easy to say the words “let’s break up.”
Just like Ulric had said…
It seemed that whenever she encountered a problem, she wanted to completely give up and draw a clear line.
She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, and memories of her time with Ulric began to surface.
His gentleness, his thoughtfulness, his blatant favoritism towards her.

Rosalind covered her face with the blanket and let out a groan. Suddenly, there was a noise at the door.
Tilda had returned.
She saw the shoes at the entrance and rushed straight to Rosalind’s room.
“I thought you weren’t coming back!”
After saying that, Tilda immediately sensed something was wrong upon seeing her friend’s state. “What’s going on with you?”
Rosalind instinctively wanted to deny it, but… matters of the heart could only be discussed with Tilda.

She knew all of Rosalind’s suitors by heart. How could there be someone she missed?

“Why would I get mad?” Tilda was puzzled.
Rosalind hesitated for a moment before finally lowering her head in defeat. “It’s Ulric. I… lied to you before.”
For a moment, the air in the room seemed to freeze, and Tilda turned into a statue, maintaining her posture for a full minute!
Then, an ear-splitting voice erupted.
“What did you say?! You really got involved with Mr. Walters!”
