Chapter 139 Pressing Forward!

Upon hearing this, Lewis hesitated visibly before his stern expression shifted. Instinctively, he glanced at Sariah. Could it be that something happened between them in Hiphia?
Earlier, it was rumored that Sariah spent a night with someone in Hiphia. Could that person be this young man?
The thought made Lewis’s aged face contort with a mix of emotions. If the two truly had an affair, it wasn’t just him who would be betrayed, but the entire Henderson family. For such a prominent family, being betrayed like this would be a tremendous embarrassment.
And unfortunately, there were still two sharp-eyed men present.
The two silent elders exchanged a knowing glance, each contemplating a thought. Could this guy be trying to court Sariah? Sariah, being the most beautiful woman in the southwest and beloved by all, would naturally attract unwanted attention. Even these two old men seemed to have inappropriate thoughts upon seeing her, not to mention someone as young as Kayden.
No wonder he didn’t want the hundred million dollars-he was more interested in her beauty than wealth.
Kayden noticed Lewis’s hesitation and continued, “Mr. Henderson, rest assured, I’m already married! I have no interest in Ms. Faulkner in that regard. I just want to know how Ms. Faulkner ended up at your home; it’s very important to me.”
Claiming no interest in Sariah only further infuriated the elderly men.
Meanwhile, Sariah herself felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. She had never had a man openly state he had no interest in her before. Earlier, Kayden had been indifferent, which was typical, but now that he had said it outright, it felt strangely unsettling-as if she were being rejected.
Observing their reactions, Greedy Wolf solemnly stated, “Wood is under Defender’s command. Naturally, Defender has no interest in Wood! Wood herself won’t dare have romantic feelings for Defender.”
It was a simple explanation.
Lewis was momentarily stunned, fumbling to respond, “Mr. Scott, I’m afraid that…”
Before Lewis could finish, Kayden’s phone rang.
He raised his hand, signaling for a moment of patience, then took out his phone to answer the call.
Silence filled the other end of the line, an eerie, lifeless silence.
Kayden didn’t speak first; he waited quietly for the caller to make the first move. Enemy didn’t move, so he didn’t move-if someone did, it exposed themselves.
Moreover, it was a call from a stranger, making it even less likely that Kayden would initiate conversation.
Ten seconds passed, then thirty, then a full minute. Finally, the caller couldn’t hold back any longer. A man’s cold, mocking laugh broke the silence, carrying a sense of weariness as if it had been sealed away for ages.
After the laughter, a brief moment of gloom followed, and then the caller coldly asked, “Are you Georgia’s husband?”
Kayden’s heart skipped a beat. He stood up from the table and demanded, “Who are you?”
The caller chuckled lightly and replied, “Who I am isn’t important. Just answer the video call I sent you. According to your wife, you’re coming to save her. I just want to see if you really have that ability.”
Before Kayden could respond, the call abruptly ended.
His heart pounded wildly. Save Georgia-what happened to her?
From the tone of the call, it was clear that Georgia was in serious trouble! Had she been kidnapped? If so, it would mean he failed to fulfill his duty of protecting Georgia.
He had served his country for years without any failings, but he owed Georgia-she had silently waited for him for three years, caring for him meticulously!
Even if he was a fool, even if Georgia became a laughingstock, she never gave up on him. He owed Georgia so much-it couldn’t be repaid by making her family a prominent family or by money.
Upon hearing that something was wrong with her, he realized he was frantic with worry. Georgia had secured a special place in his heart, a position that seemed irreplaceable.
This wasn’t just gratitude; it was something deeper, a unique emotion!
Seeing Defender’s exaggerated reaction, Greedy Wolf couldn’t help but ask, “Defender, what’s going on?”
Kayden didn’t respond, maintaining his usual silence.
Thinking quickly, he realized he had already sent protectors to guard Georgia. How could anyone dare to target her? In the small region of Hiphia, was there anyone capable of defeating his subordinates?
Regardless of what it was, he didn’t have time to think it through because the video call was still ringing.
Without hesitation, Kayden answered the video call. The moment the video connected, what he saw made him widen his eyes in disbelief.
A man’s triumphant laugh echoed from the other side, followed by a brief moment of somberness.
Kayden managed to choke out the words, “Address?”
The caller provided an address, and Kayden immediately smashed his phone onto the ground with a loud crack. The phone shattered into pieces instantly.
He was furious-Kayden was truly enraged!
Greedy Wolf watched from the side, his eyes wide. He had never seen Kayden this angry on the battlefield.
As Greedy Wolf stood there, bewildered, Kayden suddenly shouted angrily, “Greedy Wolf, launch the battle plan, sound the war drums! Back to Hiphia!”
Greedy Wolf straightened up instantly, his blood boiling with determination.
He saluted militarily, roaring like thunder, “Yes!”
Without delay, he stormed out of the room.
This imposing scene left everyone inside the room speechless. They stared at each other in disbelief, unsure of what to make of it. Was Kayden acting out a movie scene? Launching battle plans and sounding war drums?
It seemed like something straight out of a film-no, even movies wouldn’t dare to stage such a thing in someone’s home.
As everyone doubted Kayden’s sincerity, a loud roar echoed overhead, resembling the sound of incoming aircraft. Moments later, the roar grew louder, approaching the Henderson family’s courtyard. The branches of several trees inside the courtyard swayed and creaked under the force of the wind.
Everyone looked up to see five fighter helicopters hovering above.
They were indeed military helicopters, designed for combat-something everyone had seen on TV.
Soon, one of the fighter helicopters began to slowly land in the spacious courtyard of the Henderson family estate.
It was real-military helicopters were genuinely arriving, and they were high-grade!
Kayden wasn’t bluffing; this young man truly had the capability to mobilize military forces.
He walked confidently towards the helicopter. Just as he was about to board, he turned back to Lewis and said, “I’ll come back to see you again.”
With that, he boarded the helicopter.
Watching the fighter helicopter take off, Lewis was left dumbfounded.
“Who-who is he?” Suddenly, Seth couldn’t hold back and asked, his head sweating profusely.
Lewis choked back a sob, unable to respond. He didn’t know who that person was, but he knew this was a remarkable figure!
