The day Ivy would be returning to set came. She didn’t know what plans Zack had concerning her accommodation; he didn’t state if she would have to travel back and forth or stay at the same hotel. For her, it would be tiring to journey to and fro the set, and as for staying at the hotel, she was sure Zack wouldn’t like that since he was worried about her safety. He mentioned he would hire several bodyguards to give her protection. She still hadn’t figured out how she would cope with that but there was nothing she could do to change his mind.
When she woke up, there was no sign of Zack. She figured he must have left early for work as he had skipped many days due to the abduction incident.
She was escorted by Xavier to the parking courtyard, behold there were tons of people waiting for her there. She sighed, not bothered counting their numbers, reminding herself her hubby was just doing all of this for her safety as he stated her safety was what matters.
She smiled as she saw Detective Finn approaching her. Detective Finn extended his hand for a handshake with a slight smile.
“Good morning Mrs. Anderson, how are you feeling now?”
“Much better, now that I can see a whole lot numbers of people to guard me.” She replied, her eyes scanning around the security personnel hired for her coupled with the uniformed police officers she guessed might be for regular patrols and surveillance.
The detective’s expression turned a bit serious.
“Mrs. Anderson, I know you don’t feel comfortable with this many security but the threat is bigger than it seems. I discovered something recently, although I haven’t confirmed it yet, I will inform you as soon as I confirm it. I don’t want to tell you much since Mr. Anderson specifically told me not to tell you so you won’t feel worried.”
Ivy nodded in understanding; this was probably what has to be done since Isabelle apparently isn’t her only foe. She decided to try to put up with the entourage assigned for her. She smiled tersely before walking towards her car. Detective Finn walked along with her, he pointed to a tall man, dressed in plain black clothing.
“He is the PPO assigned to you, the others are the bodyguards hired by your husband.”
Ivy glanced at them before Louis opened the door to the back seat.
It seemed Louis remained her personal driver, as Edmond was still in a coma.
Ivy relaxed in the back seat, thinking of her Zack’s words of last night. She had to admit it; he had been protective of her from the start of their marriage, especially when he had hired Edmond. She had always wondered what was the need of a bodyguard at that time she had just started filming ‘Tomboy Donna’. She was just a normal actress; the only difference was that she was married to a big shot. Now she understood he was just looking out for her even though there was no notable threat at that time. As of now, the situation seemed too serious; she never knew she would attract so many enemies to herself to be in such a mess.
The sound of her phone ringing interrupted her thoughts. Looking at the caller ID, she was a bit disappointed it wasn’t Zack calling as she wanted to ask him a few questions about his decision of her accommodation till her role completion.
“Hello Susan, I’m on my way to the set. Will I meet you there?”
“Of course, there are a handful of reporters coming to set to confirm your story. Keeping the news of your abduction under wraps saved a lot of troubles with the media…” Susan said before adding. “And um… Joan is back, we will see you there…”
“Okay…” Ivy was about to disconnect the call before Susan, who seemed to remember something, interrupted. “Ivy, you still haven’t told me about who the kidnapper was.” Zack Anderson didn’t give her enough time to ask her when she visited at the hospital, since she was kind of disturbing his wife’s rest. “I mean did the police find out the perpetrator , I never had the chance to ask because I wanted you to recover and then the issue with the media complicated things more…”
Ivy actually forget Susan wasn’t aware; she was also affected by her abduction just like how Edmond was, lucky for her she didn’t sustain any injuries. “The true mastermind is yet to be found, the police are still investigating, but before the police found me I found out Isabelle was involved.” She then narrated how she ran into Isabelle and also her confession.
Susan was silent, taken aback by the news of Isabelle’s involvement. Just like how Ivy thought when she discovered it was Isabelle, Susan thought the same.
“People can turn dangerous overnight, like I didn’t expect her to have such… guts.”
“Me too… But she is not the bigger problem right now, the true mastermind is out there, maybe planning something.”
“Any suspects?” Susan asked, as she couldn’t guess who would hate her so much to want to indulge in such criminal activity.
“No sure who it is yet… But Jake Black might be a suspect.”
“What, I thought he was in jail.” Then Susan quickly remembered. “Oh, he was taken away that day for interrogation. Please be safe…”
“I am safe, I got so many bodyguards all thanks to my hubby..”
Susan chuckled softly, before they continued with their conversation. They chatted for some time before the call ended.
The moment she placed her phone into her purse, she received a text from an unknown number.
“Hi sis, been a while.”
“How is it going for ya?”
Ivy’s face instantly scrunched up, her eyes lingered on the message scrutinizingly.
‘What if Irene was the mastermind? Will she try to hurt me in that manner?’
She had hurt and betrayed her once; there was no telling what she could do, just like Susan said, people can turn dangerous overnight like the way she turned against her all of a sudden, plot against her, set her up with Dave to ruin her career, mimicked her identity, stole her role, and explicitly proved she was capable of doing anything to destroy her, just like the way she had drugged her food at the restaurant at that time she was newly married to Zack and he saved her. If not, she didn’t know what would have happened to her.
So many thoughts were running through her head at the moment, but one thing was certain. Irene was no longer the sister she once knew.
She typed into her phone replying to her message.
“I don’t know what you’ve done or are planning to do, but let me warn you, Irene, I might not be nonchalant this time around. I am not the same Ivy of nine years ago…”
