Mateo’s pov~
The lights blinded my eyes as I came to, I blinked thrice before my vision synced with the light.
I could feel the numbness of my body as I moved on top of where I lay.
As I blinked again, I saw a beautiful woman look over me.
“Is he dead yet?” she asked, I groaned as I recognised the voice.
“Ariana..” I called slowly, my voice sounded like I had been drugged up.
“What the hell is wrong with you mate, flying? We could have prepared for it, why did you do that? God I can’t believe this, you keep making things so fucking difficult for me!” she exclaimed.
“Maam let’s give him a moment to rest he is badly injured, and now the surgery to repair his nerves has been moved up, and the crash worsened his case” I heard the doctor’s groggy words as he exposed me.
“First you don’t tell me you met up with Officer Assisi now you don’t tell me what the doctors say? Are you trying to have all my hair pulled out?” she complained again.
This time a little more angry.
Her whining irritated me, and it irritated me more because I couldn’t even respond to her.
“Maam please, we need your approval on this procedure” the doctor said.
Dr Alonzo hurried in, “the test results just came and im afraid we can’t wait a moment more!” he exclaimed
“What?” I heard my wife inquire, “Yes sure, please take him” She replied immediately.
She quickly grabbed onto my hand and squeezed it tight, “You can’t die on me you heartless piece of shit, stay alive so I can murder you myself” she said softly, I could highlight some level of care in her tone.
Lies! Scandalous lies! I pushed her hand away, “you don’t give a fuck if I live or die, you are already making yourself acquainted with my power,” I mentioned before closing my eyes from the drowsy effect.
” Be rest assured Ariana if I wake up from this nightmare, im coming back for what’s mine” I stated clearly.
She stepped back in surprise, her face plastered with instant confusion.
I saw the nurse administer something to my IV access before passing out.
My last statement, “fuck you, Ariana”
ARIANA’S POV~
“Fuck you too Mateo” I whispered before touching his shoulders lightly.
I was terrified, my body shocked anxiously as they wheeled him out of the room.
Dr. Alonzo stayed back.
“His chances went from 50 per cent to 10 per cent maam” he started, “the fall was really bad, the trauma sent his whole body into shock, and the nerve at this point may not be functioning anymore” he mentioned.
“What does that mean doctor?” I asked in a trembling tone, “While we may be able to save his legs he may lose his ability to get an erection, we can only save one and not the other, do you understand ma’am” he asked.
I sunk to the sofa behind me, “are you asking me to choose between my husband’s dick and his legs?” I asked in shock.
“Precisely ma’am, we need your approval otherwise we can’t go into the OR” he stated.
Is that why they want me here, how can I choose between the two things I know he wants so badly?
Saving his dick would mean id to be stuck doing this forever, just to protect his territories from his enemies.
I preferred he walked around unable to feel pleasure, even though I knew it would ruin him.
I had no choice.
“Save his legs, please doctor save his legs” I pleaded.
“Good, the news would come by to take your signature maam, there is a chapel on the down floor, I believe calling a few angels would do us some good” he suggested before taking his leave.
I groaned in frustration, and Julius came in not long after.
“What happened with the helicopter Julius, I thought they were always serviced, we can’t trust our staff anymore?” I inquired still unable to grasp my head around the thought of him falling out of the sky the third time this year!
“We found an emp in the aircraft, latest model, perfectly planted, it shot out the engines, we have a mole in our camp, someone among us is working with the Argentos,” he said.
“What the hell!” I cursed under my breath, “I called for a ceasefire, don argento broke the terms of our deal,” I said.
I was infuriated, this was another ploy to test my resolve.
But who is it? Don Argento? Is this revenge for Silvio still ? or is this Officer Asissi’s doing?
I concluded it was the former, so I reached out to Serena.
“I’ve got tomas” I mentioned, her tone was sharp but sounded very fast-paced.
“Don’t bring him back here Ariana, something is going on back home, father sent out 12 soldiers an hour back” she started.
I was startled, my meeting was an hour ago.
“What are you saying, Serena?” I inquired, my palms instantly sweaty.
“Whatever you do Ariana don’t bring tomas home, our father is dying without tomas and this is our chance to be free, without him in our lives my mama can finally breathe, we need this.” She paused for a while.
“he needs to die before his plan to marry off Luna succeeds” she finished.
“Someone tried to kill Mateo today, his aircraft crashed” I mentioned again.
“You need to be careful Ariana, you are now the most threatening piece of the puzzle, everyone is going to look to use you or kill you, protect yourself sis and I hope you set yourself free” she paused, I heard faint voices in the background before I heard the door closed.
“I’ll send you a safe place to send tomas, an aunt who lives in Belgium, please save our brother,” she said.
“I will do everything I can” I replied before hanging up the call.
Julius came in not much after.
“There’s been a problem, Ariana,” he started, before closing the door behind him.
” the safe house we transferred tomas to,” he started before taking his gun out.
“Julius..” I muttered, afraid of the horror that came next.
“Tomas was taken a few moments ago, though we currently have the suspects on sight Ariana, and we are in pursuit” he paused, his face went sour.
“but we had something else waiting for us when we got there” he paused before showing me a bloody card.
I took it from him as he continued.
“In place of Tomas, we found the head of Liana Argento waiting at the front door” he finished.
I was instantly mortified, “Who the hell did…”
“Read the card, Ariana,” he said.
I was reluctant, but I had to show strength, I looked toward the bloodied writing below, and as I read the contents I almost slumped.
“YOURS TRULY, PAPA”
