Chapter 102

Book:The CEO'S Delicate Wife Published:2024-10-15

It was past five days already, Morgan hadn’t left Olivia ward even for a second, his gaze was fixed on her figure as he watched her day and night trying to recuperate.
Cherry was brought and taken back by Nicholas, who buys everything that’s needed for Morgan. At some point the doctor begged him to leave, to get some rest, that he’ll be informed once there was any improvement. He paid no heed to their words and remained there.
He already lost his father, his child, but not her. The doctor had already done their part, they were now waiting for her to wake up, which seems to be taking longer than Morgan had expected.
On the fourth night of her being in coma, Morgan went to kneel beside her bed, he grabbed her hands, staring into her face, at that point he knew he had fallen for her. Contract or not, he wasn’t going to let her go, not even after bringing out a side of him that he’s been hiding in a shell all these years.
“Do you really not want to wake up? you enjoy scaring me don’t you? If you don’t wake up anytime soon, you’ll really miss what I have in mind to tell you.” His voice was tender and low, his gaze filled with affection and love for her.
“If you chose not to fight and wake up, then you’ve really lost that psychopath that did this to you. Is that what you want? For then to move freely, even after what they did to you and our child? This is not my fight, Love, it’s yours. You have to make them pay for all they’ve done.”
Morgan was engrossed talking to her, and didn’t notice her other hand move and her lashes blinking.
Anyone who saw him right then, will be shocked to see the almighty and powerful Morgan, crouched down beside the bed, talking to her like his life depended on it. He was vulnerable.
A week was gone, until Olivia’s hands moved again, her head aches as she slowly opened her eyes. It groggily darted around the room, before she sneezed, waking Morgan who had fallen asleep on the chair he laid on.
Olivia frowned upon seeing him, her headache escalates as she tries recalling what happened, but fails woefully.
“You’re up!” Morgan’s eyes lit up as he drew close to her.
Olivia was still trying to process what happened when she instinctively clutched her stomach and her bump was gone.
“My child, where’s my child?” she quickly glanced at Morgan, seeming to remember his face.
Morgan pulled into his chest and hugged her. “Our child,” he corrected, brushing her hair with the tip of his fingers.
“It’s no more, I couldn’t survive.”
“Nooo!” She cried, the memories flooding her head. She hugged Morgan tightly, “She killed her, she killed our child. They wanted me dead too.” She sobbed, staining Morgan’s shirt with her tears.
“Shhh it’s okay, you’re awake now, that’s all that matters to me, we can make more babies in the future.” he hushed her, still stroking her hair.
After some while, she seemed to calm down, and pulled away from Morgan’s embrace, “You scared me.”
Morgan smiled slightly, “You scared me more,”
“Weren’t you dead??” She frowned.
“I’m here with you and you still ask that?”
“I believed it,” she mumbled, as tears left her eyes.
Morgan pulled her into a hug again, “I’m sorry about that, I’m sorry I came late to save you.”
Olivia pouted, tears still streaming down her face, Morgan used his thumb to wipe it away. It was then that the doctor, Nicholas and Cherry walked in. Cherry was quick to run to her side, “Pretty aunty you’re awake!!” She screamed excitedly, fresh tears leaving her eyes and she climbed up the bed.
Olivia kissed her head and hugged her.
The doctor ran several tests on Olivia, to find nothing wrong with her, she was fully recovered.
“Pretty aunty, you made us all worry. Uncle Morgan didn’t come to your side for a day, he didn’t even want to come home. Uncle Morgan was like a baby that wants his mommy to wake up.” She whined to Olivia, with her small mouth.
Morgan brought his head down, a smile marred on the corner of his lips. Everyone in the ward held in their laughter, as they knew Cherry’s words were true.
Olivia smiled and glanced at Morgan who shook his head. She smiled wider knowing it was true, his face alone was an obvious evidence.
Olivia was discharged not long after, It was clear to her that Morgan loved her just like she did. There was no need to hide her feelings anymore.
The truth behind Morgan’s death was unveiled but to only a few. It was Xavier that paid someone to plant a bomb inside his car. He smelled something suspicious the moment he was about to enter his car and noticed that Cherry’s doll which she left in the car had changed position. It was then that he saw the bomb placed on the side of the seat.
He decided to play along, and used the car to start the journey. Along the way, he switched cars and set the other car to drive for a while longer, until the bomb exploded.
Olivia was in the sitting room, when Morgan walked up to her, he had some documents in his hands. He sat next to her, and opened the document, only for her to find out it was their marriage Contract. Her heart skipped and she quickly glanced at him.
“If anything, I don’t regret the day you signed this, even till now. And I’m more grateful I made the certificates genuine and not fake, so, this or not, you’re my wife.” He stated
Olivia’s face flushed, as she smiled sweetly. “I thought you didn’t like me.”
Morgan stared at her for a while, before he shook his head. “Morgan didn’t like you and I chose you to be my wife? I Morgan didn’t like you and slept with you, even got you pregnant with my seed? I Morgan didn’t like you and I…”
He didn’t get to finish his words when Olivia suddenly kissed him, “I love you too.”
“You’re my wife Olivia, whether people know it or not , you’re the one I want to wake up to, come home to, have breakfast, lunch and dinner with, go out with, zip up your dress in the morning and unzip them at night. I love you Olivia.” Morgan confessed, seemingly defeated, as he reclaimed her lips in a deep and demanding kiss.
“I didn’t see anything!” Cherry’s voice quickly shook them off from their world.
They chuckled, and turned to look at her, her chubby hands slightly covered her eyes, as she laughed mischievously.
