Chapter 1105

Cody, after hearing about Jenna’s situation, comforted her, saying, “Children have their own blessings. We didn’t bring Jenna into our family just to be a child-bearing machine. If she can have a child to continue the family line, that’s wonderful.”
He paused and added, “If she really can’t have children, as long as they love each other and are happy, that’s all that matters. Everything else is a gift from heaven. If they want children and can’t have them, they can always adopt. It’s up to them.”
“Let the kids decide their own matters. Don’t pressure them or impose your thoughts on them, okay?”
Mrs. Wright was moved to tears. “Cody, it’s so good that you think this way. Thank you on behalf of the kids. You’re right. If they can have children, it’s a blessing. If not, it doesn’t matter. As long as our family is safe and healthy.”
“Alright, stop overthinking. Go prepare dinner. Jenna needs nutritious food to recover well.” Cody smiled and hung up the phone.
Mrs. Wright felt a sense of clarity and headed towards the hotel with the groceries she had bought.
She and Brayden had been staying in a suite at a hotel near the hospital, which had a kitchen and all necessary appliances.
Queena had repeatedly invited her to stay at the Hipps family home, but she declined because it was too far from the hospital.
In a dark room with almost no light, a woman sat in the center, staring grimly at the tablet in her hand.
She angrily threw the tablet to the ground, making a loud noise.
“Useless!” she cursed through gritted teeth. “So many people sent out, and they still couldn’t kill Jaida.”
“A group of people suddenly appeared. They were quite skilled, able to fight ten men at once… So we lost most of our men. Even blowing up the mountain didn’t stop them from escaping,” a man in black reported humbly with his head down.
Three other men stood behind him, all with their heads lowered, not daring to make a sound.
“Damn it! Who dares to interfere with my plans? Find out who it is! I will kill them!” the woman shouted angrily, narrowing her eyes. “Where is Jaida now? Is she dead?”
“No… we don’t know where she was taken…”
Before the man could finish speaking, the woman stood up abruptly and kicked him hard. He flew like a ball, hit the wall heavily, and fell to the ground.
He curled up in pain, blood flowing from his mouth and nose. His eyes widened in fear, but he didn’t dare to scream, only gritting his teeth to endure it.
“Useless! You can’t even handle such a small matter. Feed him to the dogs!”
Two men immediately came forward to drag the injured man out. He closed his eyes in despair, knowing it was over…
He should have known; this woman was ruthless…
The woman exhaled deeply and regained her elegant demeanor. She snapped her fingers and said nonchalantly, “Find out where Jaida is. Dig three feet into the ground if you have to.”
She couldn’t allow Jaida to continue existing in this world. Letting her live this long was already a mistake!
Lucille had no idea that Jaida was right under her nose, in the comprehensive hospital of the capital city…
Because when Sylvia admitted her, she didn’t use Jaida and Urijah’s names…
At the Hipps manor, Queena sat under the porch watching the falling snowflakes. The cold wind blew tiny snowflakes into her collar.
A servant behind her whispered, “Madam, please go inside. It’s too cold out here.”
“Thanksgiving was just a while ago, and now it’s winter with snow falling.” Queena extended her thin hand to catch the tiny snowflakes, feeling their coldness.
“Yes, it’s been half a month already. Miss Jenna has been in the hospital for half a month now.” The servant knew she must be missing her children.
“Sigh! They don’t allow visitors in the transplant ward. I wonder how Sylvia is doing. She must be exhausted taking care of Jenna every day.” Queena said sadly. “She’s really taken on the responsibility of an elder sister. She didn’t enjoy much as a child and now has to take care of her sister. It’s too much for her.”
“How about I make some bone broth for lunch and take it over? I’ll call Mrs. Wright and deliver it myself.” The servant suggested quickly. “Madam, is that okay?”
“Yes, go ahead.” Queena continued watching the snow without moving.
The snow seemed to be getting heavier. Time really flies!
When Clare returned home, he saw Queena sitting under the porch and was startled. “Mom, why are you sitting here in this cold? Why is no one with you?”
“I’m just watching the snow. What’s wrong with that? I’m not that old yet!” Queena gave him a look. “You always annoy me.”
The wedding date had been postponed by two months due to Jenna’s illness.
When will this wedding finally happen?
Queena felt a bit stifled thinking about it but knew it couldn’t be helped.
Clare stomped off the snow on his shoes. “The snow is getting heavier; let’s go inside.”
The ground was covered in white, turning everything into a silver world.
The cold wind howled outside; you could still watch the snow from inside.
Clare pulled Queena inside. “You can watch from the window.”
He wore a white snowsuit, looking sharp as he walked upstairs. As he opened the door to his room, he heard vomiting sounds from the bathroom.
Clare was startled and rushed to the bathroom, dropping his briefcase. “Honey, what’s wrong?”
He opened the bathroom door to see Mollie crouched over the toilet, vomiting violently. She slowly lifted her head and wiped her mouth with a tissue, seeing Clare’s pale face staring at her.
She weakly shook her head. “I don’t know; I think I ate something bad… I’ve thrown up three times today but can’t get anything out. I feel nauseous and uncomfortable.”
Clare helped her stand and gave her a glass of water to rinse her mouth. “Should I take you to the hospital?”
Mollie nodded weakly. “Okay.”
But as she handed Clare the glass, she collapsed.
Clare dropped the glass in panic and caught her just as she closed her eyes and fainted.
“Honey? Sweetheart?”
He shouted in fear and carried Mollie out.
In the kitchen, Queena was preparing bird’s nest soup for Mollie when she saw Clare rushing out with Mollie in his arms.
“Young Master, what’s wrong?”
“Call the driver! Quickly! Prepare the car; we’re going to the hospital.”
Clare shouted urgently, “Hurry!”
Queena was startled by his shouting and quickly looked over. Seeing Mollie unconscious nearly gave her a heart attack. “Is Mollie fainted? What happened?”
“I don’t know… Mom, she suddenly fainted.” Clare carried Mollie outside while Queena grabbed a thin blanket from the sofa to cover Mollie. “It’s cold outside; be careful.”
Queena and Mr. Hipps also got into the car, and the whole family rushed to the hospital through the heavy snow.
Upon arrival, they went straight to the emergency room.
Shortly after going in, the doctor came out.
Clare’s heart sank; could it be something serious? Some strange disease? He needed to talk to the family first?
He was overthinking out of concern.
The doctor said, “Congratulations, she’s pregnant.”
“Pregnant?” Clare’s eyes widened in shock as he looked at the doctor in disbelief, overwhelmed with joy.
“Yes, she fainted due to slight malnutrition. It’s important to supplement nutrition during early pregnancy. I’ll prescribe some prenatal vitamins and folic acid tablets for her. Once she wakes up, she can go home.”
The doctor gave some additional instructions before leaving.
Clare stood there in immense joy, not moving an inch.
Queena pushed him gently. “What are you standing there for? Go get the medicine!”
Clare snapped out of it and hugged Queena tightly. “Mom, I’m going to be a father!”
“Yes, it’s wonderful news. Our Hipps Family finally has such good news.” Queena said emotionally. “Go get the medicine.”
Clare grinned from ear to ear as he went to get the medicine and came back still smiling broadly.
Queena and Mr. Hipps were also very happy.
“We’re going to have a grandchild.”
“Yes indeed! We’ve waited so many years; it’s not easy!”
“With a pregnant woman at home now, we need to be careful in every aspect and make sure she gets proper nutrition.” Queena instructed Clare. “Also, since she’s pregnant, she shouldn’t go back to work with the team anymore. Her health is more important.”
Clare continued smiling happily. “I’ll go upstairs and tell Sylvia this good news.”
“Oh dear, can you be more composed? You’re going to be a father; stop being so impatient!” Queena said helplessly.
