“Lie down, don’t move. Daddy wants to take a picture of you being good!”
“Meow~”
“I said don’t move, be good! Only if you’re good will you get your fish snack!” The girl was full of patience, completely awake now.
Little Bubu seemed to understand and obediently lay on its side on the bed. “Meow~”
Since it kept meowing, she decided to record a short video. The sound was so cute and endearing.
So, Agnes propped herself up and found a good angle to record a video of the little kitten.
“Meow~”
The little one cooperated perfectly, meowing from start to finish.
Fritz Manor, the beautiful building glowed brilliantly in the morning light.
Tom Fritz, dressed in a robe, sat in an armchair by the bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling window. The sunlight illuminated his handsome face, giving him a gentle aura.
He held his phone, leaning slightly forward with his elbows on his knees, waiting for a message.
But three minutes passed without a reply.
Tom wondered if his request had been too abrupt.
After all, it was a girl’s bed; how could he just ask for a photo?
Realizing his mistake, he was about to apologize when a notification dinged-a short video had been sent over.
He was slightly taken aback and tapped to open the video. It showed only the kitten lying on her bed, looking at the camera and meowing continuously.
It seemed to be greeting him, saying good morning.
The familiar sound made Tom Fritz’s furrowed brow finally relax a bit. A gentle and pleasant smile appeared on his lips.
Tom thought for a moment and replied earnestly: Thank you very much.
[Has our professor not returned to the lab yet?] Agnes’s message came shortly after.
[It will be a few more days]
This was their first conversation since exchanging numbers. Tom Fritz stared at her messaging nickname and felt a bit lost.
Bubu… The name felt strangely familiar.
And her profile picture was also a sunflower, which seemed familiar too.
Soon, another message came through. He didn’t think too much about it.
They chatted about the daily life of little Bubu, going back and forth for an hour…
Neither felt like it was a waste of time!
Normally, Tom Fritz’s phone was just an ornament; he rarely used it and could go weeks without opening it once.
Agnes also had few contacts in her list and rarely chatted like this; she usually made calls if needed.
It wasn’t until she remembered she had a lunch appointment that she got up to get ready and sent him this message-
I have to get up now; I have an appointment at noon. Talk later.
Tom thought time had flown by; it was almost noon already.
She hadn’t gotten up yet, so she hadn’t had breakfast either? They had chatted until ten o’clock; the young girl must be starving by now?
But he didn’t say much, only replied with two words: Okay.
Then the conversation ended.
When Tom Fritz put down his phone, he realized he was feeling a bit hungry too.
Agnes quickly got up to wash up, change clothes, tidy up briefly, and put on light makeup.
“Sis!”
She knocked on her sister’s bedroom door but got no response.
Opening the door revealed an empty room with neatly folded blankets.
Agnes wondered if her sister had gone out?
As she grabbed her bag to leave, she saw a note stuck behind the door in her sister’s elegant handwriting-
Breakfast is in the steamer. Handle lunch yourself. I’ll be filming all day today and will be back late.
