“Okay, it’s getting late, go back to your room and rest,”
Enrico said, putting his arm around Paige, too lazy to bother with their conversation.
He didn’t want Kevin to come to the island with them, but since they were already here, he couldn’t just kick him back to the dock, even though he really wanted to.
Paige glanced at the time and said to Kevin, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow when we get to the island. Hurry up and get some rest. At the current rate, we’ll reach Wind Island at 4:00 a. m.”
Kevin looked at Enrico’s arm around Paige’s shoulders. In the darkness of the night, his gaze was slightly dark and unobtrusive.
He nodded, “Okay.”
“Let’s go,” Enrico said to Paige.
“Okay.” Paige turned around and followed Enrico out, back to their room to rest.
…
The next morning, when the cruise ship stopped, Paige opened her eyes in Enrico’s arms.
She had slept lightly all night, waking up every now and then, unable to enter into a real sleep.
Feeling the cruise ship come to a stop, Paige suddenly sat up in bed.
It was still dark in the bedroom, with little light, so she picked up the remote control next to her and manipulated the curtains to open, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows slowly appeared in front of her.
It was dark outside, and there was not much light.
But she knew that they had arrived.
Her heart tightened, and she held her breath for no reason.
Enrico was lying on the bed, his arms empty. He opened his drowsy eyes and looked at the person sitting by the bed. His voice was hoarse, “What’s wrong?”
“Enrico, we’re here,”
she said.
She clearly wanted to be calm, but her voice was uncontrollably trembling.
On hearing this, Enrico’s eyes swept away the sleepiness, and he sat up against the bed, reaching out to turn on the lights.
The bedroom suddenly brightened.
Paige’s eyes were stung, and she slowly adjusted to the light. Once she had adjusted, the tremor in her body slowly dissipated.
She stood up and walked over to the closet.
Looking at the clothes of different styles hanging inside, she paused, remembering that she had only two sets of clothes to change in the slums before. One set was looted, and the other was the hospital clothes she wore after the Clarkes family found a connection to have her declared a mental patient.
After a while, Paige took out a plain white short-sleeved T-shirt from inside and looked at Enrico after holding it up to her chest, “Enrico, what do you think of me wearing this?”
Enrico was half lying in bed, his eyes half-open with a lazy expression and seductive eyebrows, ‘I haven’t seen you wear white for a long time.”
“Because I only want to wear it for you,’ Paige said.
Hearing this, Enrico was completely unable to sleep, and narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her, “Today we’re going to the island, but you’re thinking about my likes and dislikes. Paige, there’s something wrong with you.”
“If you don’t like it, I won’t wear it,” Paige put down the T-shirt in her hands.
“Wear it.” Enrico’s throat tightened just from looking at the white against her skin.
Paige laughed, and changed into a white T-shirt and a pair of black cigarette pants. The simple black and white matching was neat and elegant, making her legs seem even slimmer than usual, and her ankles were exposed. She squatted down and put on a pair of white shoes with rhinestones. The soles were neither soft nor hard, which was very suitable for walking in a place like Wind Island.
“I’ll help you put it on.” Paige took out another set of men’s black and white matching casual clothes from the closet, and the top was also a T-shirt.
Enrico raised an eyebrow. He hardly ever wore this type of clothing, but…
He glanced at the white T-shirt she was wearing, accepted it gladly, raised his hand to enjoy her service, and stared at her innocent little face made even more so by her clothing. “Paige, you’re like a child bride now.”
The way she served him made him feel that she must love him.
Paige carefully helped him put on his sleeves. She felt speechless, but in order to make everything go smoothly after arriving on the island today, she tried her best to please him, “Mr. Gustin said it is so.”
Enrico stood up from the side of the bed, ‘If you really are my child bride, that would be great.”
Paige bent down and used the belt to pass it around his waist. She couldn’t help but say, ‘Do you really want me to serve you?”
Enrico lowered his head close to her, his thin lips moving slightly, his voice tinged with an ambiguous sensuality, “I don’t mind serving you, but the point is that I can sleep with you sooner.”
“…”
Paige grabbed the belt with both hands and tightened it suddenly.
Enrico almost suffocated.
…
Paige thought she woke up early, but when they finished getting dressed and washing up and came out, Kevin, Dr. Clinton and a large group were already waiting in the lobby.
Dr. Clinton was waiting idly with his medical kit, while Kevin stood leaning against the sofa with his back slightly leaning forward.
Paige and Enrico walked out from inside, dressed in matching outfits, one handsome and lazy, the other pure and capable, the picture was extremely eye-catching.
“Mr. Gustin, Miss.” Dr. Clinton’s eyes lit up when he saw this scene.
Kevin also saw it, straightened up, and his face didn’t reveal anything, smiling and saying, ‘You’re out?”
“Have you eaten?’ Paige asked the two of them.
“Breakfast is ready, would you like to eat first?” Kevin asked her.
“If everyone doesn’t mind, let’s get some food and eat while walking,” Paige said, she no longer wanted to waste any more time boarding the island.
Naturally, everyone didn’t mind, so the large group set off.
Paige was led by Enrico’s hand as they walked forward and stepped out of the hall.
Wind Island was right in front of them. From a distance, it looked like an uninhabited desert island, with dense trees covering everything. At this time of day, there was no light on the island, and it was deathly silent.
Enrico stepped down the stairs and got off the boat. Paige wasn’t in the mood to eat, so she took the bread handed to her by Dr. Clinton and tore it into pieces, feeding it to the man beside her.
Paige looked up.
There was already light reflecting off the sea and sky, and the morning sun was slowly rising.
“It’s been a long time since I saw the sunrise on Wind Island,” Kevin said, standing behind them, looking at the horizon.
“Yes,” Paige responded indifferently, it really had been too long.
“The natural scenery on Wind Island is really quite good, the sand is white and fine, much better than some man-made attractions,”
Dr. Clinton stepped on the sand on the ground and said,
Paige and Kevin looked at him at the same time, with the same indifferent expression in their eyes.
Dr. Clinton was taken aback, “Did I say the wrong thing?”
“If you go further in, you won’t feel it anymore,” Kevin said.
Enrico didn’t like this tacit understanding between Paige and Kevin, and without saying a word, he put his arm around her and continued walking further in.
There was no proper road along the edge of the island, and the various trees grew in complete disorder. The group walked in the direction of the empty space under the trees.
After a few more steps, it wasn’t quiet inside.
They could only hear a few strange screams, sounding like neither human nor ghost, ringing around them ethereally.
The group stopped in their tracks and looked around warily.
Dr. Clinton stood stiffly with the medical kit in his arms. What was that sound?
Are there monsters on the island?
Just as he was thinking, a scantily clad woman suddenly pounced out from behind a tree, her hair in a mess and her fingers bent like eagle claws, charging straight at him.
“Ah-” Dr. Clinton was born and raised in the city, where had he ever seen such a scene, and he was so scared that he ran away with the suitcase in his arms.
