“No, no, no…” Yves waved his hands frantically and took a few steps back, pleading with Flynn, “I’m still young and not in a hurry to advance my martial arts. Master, please just meet with Lyra.”
“I can’t take it anymore, she has something on me!”
“What does she have?” Flynn asked.
Yves’s face turned red, and he said awkwardly, “During that month at Demon Island Prison, one night I got drunk with my brothers. We competed to see who could pee the farthest off the cliff at the back of the prison, and she secretly took photos.”
Hearing this, Braiden was dumbfounded and his worldview shattered.
This was the Heavenly King of the Nation!
The Greater Sovereign.
He had always been a towering and earth-shaking figure, an idol followed by countless Ostrad youths.
The commander of three hundred thousand troops.
A synonym for dominance.
Even before he became the heavenly king, he was one of the top talents in Ostrad.
He was ranked in the top ten on the Hidden Dragon Ranking.
And they had done such an embarrassing thing?
Competing to see who could pee the farthest off a cliff?
But little did he know, even the Heavenly King of the Nation was human!
Five years ago, at the age of 25, the Heavenly Kings were just brothers when together.
No airs about them.
And with Flynn as a master, who was unrestrained, how could his disciples be any serious?
Flynn was also stunned upon hearing this and could already imagine the scene.
Three grown men, pants down to their ankles, roaring at the cliff below.
Lyra sneakily hiding behind a large rock, grinning as she snapped photos of their bare backsides.
Oh no!
Can’t think about it!
Too eye-searing!
But it was not surprising that Yves and his mischievous pals would do such a thing when drunk.
Lyra, naturally contentious, not with the army and calling the heavenly kings brothers, was likely to do something like taking such photos.
That month at Demon Island Prison, they were free from the constraints of their images, all returning to their true natures.
Those guys, really… they did themselves proud.
“It’s just a minor issue, so she took the photos, what can Lyra threaten you with?”
“Is she going to show these photos to your subordinates?”
Flynn was somewhat speechless but could accept it.
Who hasn’t done something embarrassing when drunk? These people had been treated as prodigies from childhood, the future of their families, under great pressure. Arriving at the isolated Demon Island Prison, it was understandable to let loose.
Cruz shook his head with a bitter smile: “It’s more than showing them to the subordinates. That day, General Yancey lost the bet. While others managed to pee ten feet into the wind, he ended up peeing on his own shoes.”
“And that night, he also slept with Natalia.”
“She said that if General Yancey doesn’t tell you the address, she would show the photo to General Yancey’s men and tell them about Natalia’s affair at the Imperial Center.”
“They were specifically instructed, the eight great heavenly kings coming to Demon Island Prison, not to contact anyone else. You know their temper, if he finds out General Yancey slept with Natalia, he might…”
Flynn was severely shocked again.
Natalia, a top-level assassin who used seduction to kill dozens of high-profile individuals in the Northlands, extremely dangerous, and Yves had slept with her?
“Aren’t you afraid of dying?” Flynn asked Yves sternly.
Yves responded pitifully, “Master, Natalia truly likes me, and she’s really a woman with a hard life…”
“Enough, I don’t care about your troubles, you’ve given Lyra leverage over you, now deal with it yourself!” Flynn said coldly, then turned his head and glared at Cruz.
“I only told you about coming to Niarak, did you tell Yves?”
Cruz trembled, stuttering, “Mr. Clark, I felt sorry for General Yancey, so I thought to bring him to plead with you.”
“Given how badly General Yancey has been treated, please meet with Lyra.”
“Make things clear with her, and she surely won’t bother you anymore.”
Flynn said coldly, “I have my own affairs to attend to, and I don’t want any troubles from her family or the people at the Imperial Center.”
“You figure it out yourselves!”
The Whitaker family, father and daughter, are both stubborn. They made things clear even at Demon Island Prison.
And yet, they still persistently follow?
Nate, that old man, was in danger of being snatched by the Sixth Elder of the Imperial Center.
The Sixth Elder of the Imperial Center feared Nate would snatch from him.
Both used every trick in the book, truly annoying!
“I… I can only help you stall for one more month, not a day longer…” Yves replied softly, a look of dejection on his face.
“Go stand over there!” Flynn was already in a foul mood, and Cruz’s arrival only worsened it.
Yves and the other reluctantly stood aside, daring not to make a sound.
Clearly, they had walked into the lion’s den.
Not only did they fail to persuade Flynn, but they also got a harsh scolding. Speaking further might just lead to them getting beaten.
“The Black Mamba Assassins recently escorted a biologist to Pelens, do you know who they were working for?” Flynn stared at Braiden, asking coldly.
Braiden suddenly looked up, his eyes filled with confusion, “I… I posted a bounty on the Dark Web, I wasn’t aware of their prior mission!”
“You must believe me, please believe me!”
Seeing General Yancey bewildered by Flynn’s scolding, Braiden was completely overwhelmed.
His defenses completely collapsed.
Considering how frightened General Yancey appeared, one could imagine how terrifying Flynn was.
He could only bow repeatedly, daring not to hide anything.
“You don’t know?” Flynn’s eyes flashed with a cold light, “That piece of Bone Jade is an item of great evil, only someone like the King of Poison could handle it.”
“Last time at the Swanson’s Residence, you collaborated with Garrett to steal Bloodwort, and the King of Poison appeared at the Sharp’s Group for the same Bloodwort.”
“That biologist is also a poison cultivator. After I killed the King of Poison, he came to Pelens under the escort of the Black Mamba.”
“There’s reason to believe that the King of Poison and the biologist are from the same faction, you didn’t know?”
Flynn’s implication was clear. Since Braiden knew the King of Poison and had brought in Black Mamba, he must be linked to that background power.
“It’s a misunderstanding, a real misunderstanding!”
“I indeed know the King of Poison; it was he who made the Bone Jade and ordered us to snatch the Bloodwort.”
“But that’s all there is to it! I truly didn’t know about any forces behind him.”
“Look, this is the bounty I posted on the Dark Web. If I had known Black Mamba before, would I have needed to post a bounty?”
Braiden pulled out his phone, showing the bounty he had posted on the Dark Web, handing it to Flynn.
Flynn took it and looked it over carefully. Just as Braiden said, he had posted a bounty, and the Black Mamba organization had taken the job.
“What about Mr. Powell? When the King of Poison went to the Sharp’s Group to steal Bloodwort, he was there too. You’re in good terms with Mr. Powell, do you know the insides?” Flynn asked, not willing to let it go.
Braiden shook his head with a wry smile, “Mr. Powell went to the Sharp’s Group to steal Bloodwort under coercion from the King of Poison. I was there too, I swear there’s no lie in what I say.”
“He had no prior contact with the King of Poison, and he definitely doesn’t know about the faction you mentioned.”
“But…”
