We chose to open our thoughts and reveal the visions that we got. The kind of existence that can be reached, the sky, the stars, the galaxy or the universe and evil, or something like that. But also the everyday feelings of humans laughing a child finally laughing, two lovers’ lips touching, a job done to perfection.
“The question that is now in front of us for the first time,” I said, “is far beyond survival. It’s a question defining the human race. The question of who we are. ”
And then, even if I did not even expect myself, we even extended the connection completely. All of a sudden, each human being on the face of the earth could as well experience what we went through. It was a blessing to be able to look into each other’s souls / be inside someone else’s head. I could understand, at least for a fleeting moment, what it actually means to be part of a society as a multifaceted whole.
European philosophers and Asian peasants, American business persons and African tribes, Mexican Indian and Japanese women everybody in Paris, every farmer in rural China, every businessman in New York, every tribesman in Africa, every Indian in Mexico, every woman in Japan-were all occupied with questions as to what was right and what was wrong. In NASA’s control rooms, some scientists collaborated with indigenous shamans of the Amazonian forests. This is true for children and the elderly, the rich and the poor, people of all races and creeds all present in the same psychological field.
For a moment in time, the world was united.
For the first time, I sensed that a decision was being shaped in the group. Not just an ascension, sure, but not no either, something that was more intricate. An option that was in the middle, none of which we had thought of before.
But just as the decision began to emerge, there was something fresh that began to reveal itself. A big mass of pure evil that could dwarf even the monstrosity they had met behind the rip.
“You amaze us,” The idea that it actually had been processed into words went through the global net. We had not factored this into our equation. It was really fitting that a species chooses its own destiny as one.
The existence of this space triggered waves of admiration and fright among the people’s minds. This new development caused me a lot of pressure, and it felt like I was losing the connection with IT understandably so.
“Your choice is larger than you know,” the entity went on. It will decide not only your life but also the lives of numerous realities. This time it depends on the scale of the cosmos.”
I became aware of the enormous number of choices that were potentially crowding in on us. The background hum of the global mind erupted with conflicted input as the recently hard-fought stability of the collective intent cracked.
‘What do you mean?’ I echoed back as aggressively as I could, while feeling a deep nausea from the view of the cosmos that was unfolding before my eyes. Basically, though the question was, “What aren’t you telling us about this choice?”
This entity’s reply was far from verbal, it was an avalanche of pictures and thoughts which were almost beyond even our new abilities to contain. I would watch as events are internsected, and real worlds are altered and split into two different dimensions commonly known as Cartesian dualism. I glimpsed on other Earths where humanity decided otherwise some got upgrades to become gods, others remained bound to their human frailty and everything in between.
And I saw something else. This is a sentence that I drew from the article. That which is concealed behind the ultimatum, behind the cried-out reality. Hollywood’s perfect portrayal of Humanity, which is Game of Chess played in Space where humans are the pieces to be won.
Separating between zero and existence ” You are at the cusp of life. “The balance will be in your favor with your choice. However, what you find may not be the whole story, so select your heroes wisely. The offer of ascension. .. It is not what you think it is, does it?”
It was if they physically punched me in my stomach due to the implication that it had on me. We weren’t just picking our individual destiny, there was something more profound that was taking place. Indeed, we remained selecting the future of a multiverse we were a part of. But the skin was even higher than our estimates had imagined.
This gave me the impression that the human collective mind was aback with this revelation. The link was soon beginning to deteriorate, billions of consciousness trying and wanting to pull apart under the information of this cosmic reality.
With the last of my strength, I sent out one final thought to the people. Stay connected! We have to face this together. It is the only way-
But I never got the chance to finish it, a bright burst of energy went through the tear. This bridge collapsed, billions of souls screaming in horror and anguish and being ripped and pulled back into their individual heads.
I knelt down in the people crowded Central Park with a severe breathlessness. Zoe and Chase were beside me, both of them appeared to be as nervous as how I was feeling right now. The tear in reality grew even bigger than before and at this time, its edges started stretching at a higher rate.
“Brianne,” Zoe repeated, anguish filling her lightweight vocal. ‘Now what do we do?’ It was such a simple question to ask, but one which stumped them all after they had been so close to forging a decision.
I got up slowly and, as my thoughts cascaded, they started to make me feel a strange excitement. At that moment, we had awoken the awareness of each and every person on this planet. We had got a glimpse of the real universal consequences of our decision. Thus, we found out that this choice was not as simple as we had been told, and we had never been taught differently.
But with the connection severed and the world appearing to fall apart at the seams, we were out of time. It can’t go onthe decision has to be made now.
I glanced at my friends again and then at the growing tear which had the potential to swallow our world. Thus, there and then, the decision as to what course of action I was going to take was clear. It was reckless, maybe even stupid, but it was the only thing I could think of that would give us the time, which we so desperately required.
‘I’m going back in,’ I said, pointing at the tear. That was another place too, where there weren’t answers, but Chase, who always found them: ”There are answers on the other side. The truth about this world of so-called ascension, humanity is trapped in the game. ”
Zoe’s eyes opened wide, in dismay. “Briannae, no! We barely made it out the first time and, with reality this unstable, they might not let you come back at all!”
‘She is right’ Chase joined in, outstretched a hand to grab my arm, “It is too risky; we have to look for another way. ”
I stepped aside to be nearer to the heartbeat of the tear. “It cannot be done in any other way. Not in the remaining time. ” When there is no other way they have to do it, and it has to be me.
They continued protesting, but before anything else could come out of their mouths, I acted and raced away towards the tear. I heard my friends shouting my name somewhere far behind me, felt the intensity of raw electrical energy as the barrier between this world and the… collapsed on me.
When I stepped through the door, I had the rather uncanny feeling that time itself had stopped. For one final moment, I saw my world Central Park, deformed by space-time distortions; my friends trying to grab me with their hands; and a sky full of shattered images of a thousand worlds.
Then everything went white.
I was falling, falling through levels of reality, trying to find the answer that was to save the human race and the multiverse.
What if the basis that we were looking for was one that we could not come to terms with? What if, not finding the information I need and running to search fro other answers, I only condemned all of you?
The white faded to black, and I went back into the unknown.
