She leaned over and asked softly, “Enrico, what are you thinking?”
Enrico looked back at her, his eyes a deep dark color that seemed to devour. He looked at her white face, and after a few seconds, he raised his hand and rubbed her hair. His voice was low and magnetic, “I was thinking, I finally brought you home.”
Paige couldn’t help smiling as she listened, and she rubbed her head twice in the palm of his hand, “Well, home.”
Go home with him.
“Put this down and pretend you were never here,” Enrico said, staring at her.
Paige listened, and her heart inexplicably ached. The next second, she nodded with a smile, “Okay.”
“Your home only has my name, Enrico,” Enrico said, pinching her chin.
“Got it,” Paige looked at him, took a deep breath, and then said as if she had let go of everything, “Okay, we should discuss going to Wind Island, and Country A. I don’t know how they’re handling it.”
Jasper said he wouldn’t seek revenge in Country A anymore, and that was also decided today.
Before, they didn’t know what was going on, and how the election was going.
“No problem, if there was a problem, I would have received a call already,” said Enrico.
“Let’s watch the news first, where’s your phone?” Paige’s phone had broken when it fell and tumbled down the mountain, and it was no longer able to be turned on.
“Can’t you just take a break?” Enrico looked at her disapprovingly.
“No, I still have to go to Wind Island to find you the fruit of immortality.”
Paige held out her hand to him. She really didn’t want to rest for a moment right now, she just wanted to fly to Wind Island immediately.
“…”
Enrico was speechless. Both business and personal matters had become mixed together. She could now justifiably mention going to Wind Island every day, and she didn’t have to worry about him not being able to take it anymore.
He took out his phone and handed it to her.
Paige took it, turned it on, flashed it at Enrico’s face to unlock it, then opened the news search and scanned the latest headlines.
There had been minor riots in the country, because of the upcoming election, and all kinds of voices were being heard.
The situation was indeed a bit chaotic.
Paige’s gaze fell, and she continued scrolling down, when suddenly a blacked-out headline caught her eye:
“President Rafael and First Lady to give speech in Magic City, causing a sensation.”
First lady?
Paige realized she had read some strange news and turned to Enrico and asked, “Is Rafael married?”
I’ve never heard of it before.
“Married?” Enrico was also taken aback.
Paige put the phone in front of him, and Enrico glanced at it and said indifferently, “Fake news.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, no one would want someone like him.”
“…”
What a unique way to be sure.
Paige looked at Enrico doubtfully, thinking that it might be fake news. Rafael was in the middle of an election, and he wouldn’t behave himself and suddenly get married.
Thinking this, Paige still opened the news to read the content.
Then she was shocked by the photo inside.
In the photo, Rafael was dressed in a suit and stepping up the steps, well-dressed, with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, his every move refined and noble. He had a snow-white, slender arm wrapped around his shoulder, and the woman next to him was wearing a red dress, cold and noble, raising one hand to the camera to give a faint signal, her appearance absolutely stunning.
Carrie.
“…”
Paige stared at the photo for a long time, unable to believe it, and continued to scroll down, where she saw many more photos of Rafael and Carrie together.
There were photos of the two of them smiling at each other, of Rafael pulling out a chair for Carrie, and of Carrie leaning on Rafael’s shoulder like a little bird…
All of the photos conveyed one thing: that Carrie and Rafael were very much in love.
Very, very much in love.
Seeing her face change, Enrico leaned over and looked at the content on his phone with his chin resting on her shoulder. “I thought I had something secret on my phone for you to catch. Rafael is just getting married, so why did your face change?”
His tone was a little bad.
“No, this is Carrie, she’s mine.”
Paige was certainly not shocked that Rafael got married.
She enlarged a photo, a distant shot of a speech, in which Jaden and Nick were both present, looking at Rafael and Carrie from the audience, with expressions that were hard to interpret.
“What have these people been doing in Country A behind our backs?”
She had come to Country D, and how had Carrie become First Lady?
“Huh.”
Enrico let out a lazy little laugh. “I thought you made a big scene in Country D, but it seems they’ve been making a big scene at home as well.”
They have stabilized the situation in Country A, and have settled a marriage.
“…”
Paige wanted to call and ask for clarification, but she felt that she probably wouldn’t get a clear answer over the phone.
“Not bad, good news, Rafael became president only because of my influence, and Carrie is your Temple in Heaven,”
Enrico said with a devilish grin, resting his chin on her shoulder, “as long as they win the general election, in the future, we two will call the shots in this Country A.”
Mr. Gustin always thinks about things from such a unique perspective.
Right now, she should be figuring out what the hell is going on…
Paige pressed her temples. One thing after another, she just couldn’t find any peace.
Her head ached.
It really, really hurt.

Three days ago.
The comments on the official website of the Presidential Palace were about to explode, with questions rolling around, threatening to overturn the calm of Country A.
Jaden, representing Enrico, went to the New Rose Estate to hold a meeting with the members of Temple in Heaven.
At the meeting, everyone’s faces were solemn.
“So what we have to do now is not to look for anyone, but to stabilize the situation in the country and help President Rafael win re-election.”
Sitting at the meeting table, Jaden put down the thick document in his hands. His tone was gentle, neither hurried nor slow, but his words were all about important matters. “Right now, there are surging undercurrents in the country, with the Folsom family stirring up trouble. The topic is all about the president. Those plutocrats were only suppressed for a while, and if they knew that you and Mr. Gustin were not in the country, they would do God knows what.”
“That’s not all,”
Nick produced a document, and his face behind the black-framed glasses did not look good. “Some chaebols were injured and the blame was put on our sister Paige. Some people have already begun to think that sister Paige is not trustworthy and are demanding that she come out and speak.”
“How bad is the injury?” Jaden took the document and glanced at it, frowning.
“Fortunately, I already sent someone to protect her at the first opportunity to prove that sister Paige is absolutely sincere about living in peace with them, but whether they have other intentions is hard to say,” said Nick.
“The slum reconstruction plan was a plan to quickly fight against the slow, taking advantage of the presidential election to promote class equality and speed up reconstruction… But now that Sister Paige hasn’t gone to Wind Island, everything has been delayed, and problems have arisen everywhere.”
Cynthia, a member of the Peak Club, spoke up, ‘If this continues, once there are bigger problems, then everything Sister Paige did at the big finance summit will be useless.’
