CHAPTER 62
GETTING CAUGHT
The next morning, Isabella was woken up by Vincent’s warm hand on her forehead, he wanted to check her temperature to know if she was okay.
But as Isabella opened her eyes and saw him standing in front of her, she suddenly felt a huge lump hung in her throat as she struggled for words.
“W- what are you doing?” Isabella stutered as she immediately moved away from his touch, “I was checking your temperature with mine to see if you were okay,” Vincent explained.
“I am fine,” Isabella replied immediately as she used the blanket to cover up herself properly, “Yes it seems so,” Vincent added as he gave her a warm smile.
“Do you need me to do anything for you?” Vincent asked as he sat close to Isabella on the bed, “No I am fine,” she replied as she tried to get Vincent to leave her alone, she already had some wierd thought on her mind and didn’t want him coming more close to her or touching her.
“Okay if you say so but i would be downstairs and you can call me if you need anything.” Vincent announced but Isabella quickly questioned, “Are you not busy with work?”
“I am but I’ve decided to take the day off just to look after you,” vincent admitted. “But I am fine,” Isabella explained as she tried to cajoule Vincent to leaving her alone in the house.
She needed some space away from Vincent as fast as possible so she could cub the feelings that was already growing, “I actually have a meeting with Audrey today which means you could also go to work.” Isabella noted.
“Okay, I would go if you insist but promise to call me when anything comes up,” he said as got up to prepare for the office, as he left Isabella could still feel her heart beating fast from his touch.
She wondered how long she would be able hide her feelings from Vincent, “I need to do something fast about my feelings,” she whispered to herself.
After she was sure Vincent has left for the office, Isabella took her bath and got ready to go see Audrey who was so happy to see her.
“How are you girl?” Audrey asked as the exchanged pleasantries, she had not seen Isabella yesterday before she left the hospital because she was busy with work.
“I am doing great,” Isabella replied. “Are you sure you are doing great because you do not look so well,” Audrey inquired as she gave Isabella a stern look.
“I hope Vincent is not giving you a hard time?” She continued as she waited for Isabella’s reply, she knew Jessica still had some form of authority in Vincent’s life and would not be shocked to hear him acting out towards Isabella.
“Make sure to report everything to me whenever something goes wrong or Vincent tried anything stupid with you.”Audrey commanded.
But Isabella just chuckled at her words and reply, “Nothin wrong is going to happen, Vincent is not as bad as you think and he is actually calm and caring.”
“Oh really!” Audrey asked as she looked at Isabella suspiciously, “Yes, Audrey he is a nice guy.” She continued.
“Hold up, I think there is something going on that you are not telling me Bella.” Audrey noted but Isabella quickly denied. “There is nothing going on, I am just being truthful and that’s all.” She asserted.
“Oh really, so now i am the liar and the bad one, I thought you told me Vincent was just pretending to be nice to you because of the baby?” Audrey questioned as she waited for her best friends reply.
“So why the sudden change of attitude towards him?” She continued, “I was wrong about her him okay,” Isabella noted.
“Wrong how?” Audrey questioned immediately, “Or have you started to fall for him?” She continued but Isabella quickly protested.”Why would you say that?”
“Because you’ve never defended him before and I am sure there is something going on between you two,” Audrey asserted.
“Well you are wrong about that because I do not have feelings for Vincent, moreover you and I know me being with him is just for a while and once he has his heir we are done so I can’t have feelings for such a person.” Isabella confirmed.
“I hope what you say is true because you sounded otherwise like someone who is already in love but if you say then its fine, all I am saying is please be careful around him.” Audrey noted.
“Thank for always having my back,” Isabella said as she smiled at Audrey, she knew there would be too many trouble attached to falling in love with Vincent and that is one of the major reason why she would have stop her feelings for him from growing any further.
“There is something I really want to discuss with you,” Audrey announced breaking off the silence and bringing Isabella back from her thought.
“What’s that about?” Isabella asked curiously, “it’s about Mr White and the contract you have with them,” she continued.
“What about the contract?” Isabella questioned, they had tried to do something about it earlier but nothing had worked out. “I have a suggestion in mind and would want you to hear it out,” Audrey replied.
“Okay, I would love to.” Isabella replied happily, she had always wish for a way out from Mr White and his unreasonable contract that was already causing her so much torment.
“Since Mr White has refused to revise the contract and is visible not willing to let you go, we can sought for a contract with a bigger company which would be able to pay up your debt to Mr White while you work for them instead of Mr White.” Audrey explained as she waited for her reply.
“Oh my God that would be so much better but would it be possible with all that has been happening and would Mr White consent to such?” Isavella inquired her voice filled with concern.
“Yes it is possible, I had already spoken with my lawyer and he had assured me that it was legally possible and I am sure you are even more popular now than before, so let’s try it out.” Audrey confirmed.
“Thank you, thank you.” Isabella shouted happily as she hugged Audrey tightly, this was the best news she had heard in a while.
“Thank you so much Audrey for always coming through for me,” Isabella continued happily. “You know I am always here for you,” Audrey replied as they continued in their embrace.
