Once they arrived at the Manor, Rosiley got out of the car. As she walked through the garden, she wondered where Uncle Zhao was. He should have been gardening, but he was nowhere to be seen.
She opened the main gate and walked in with Corey. A maid who was cleaning immediately confronted them. “Who are you? How come you just walked into someone’s home so casually?”
The unfamiliar face of the maid made Rosiley frown. It seemed like Xenia Zhao had replaced all the servants in the household, trying to act like the real power in the Family.
Rosiley glanced at that servant with fiery eyes as she scolded harshly, “I am Rosiley, the eldest sister of the family.”
The maid was obviously stunned by her domineering attitude. Then, with a sour tone, she said, “The eldest sister of the family is Miss Rorey, how could it be you?”
“I will call the police if you decide to linger.” The servant walked directly to the telephone and was about to call.
Rosiley glanced at Corey, who walked over briskly to pull out the phone line.
The servant stared at Corey, “You, you, you…”
The maid was stunned speechless by his actions.
“Where is Xenia Zhao?” Corey asked coldly and harshly.
Facing his dominance, the maid became obedient. She replied, “Madam is still sleeping.”
“Call her down.”
Corey realized that she was still standing there, so he chided her. “Hurry up and call her down.”
The maid was scared senseless, and she ran upstairs hurriedly.
Seeing that, Rosiley could not help but chuckle. “Corey, isn’t this too much?”
“Too much?” Corey raised his brows. “Not at all. We should alter our attitudes to deal with different types of people.”
He then threw down the phone line and waved to Rosiley. “Come over and sit down, sister-in-law. Let’s have a good rest, for we are going to fight the final boss later.”
“Final boss? You must have gotten the wrong idea. Xenia Zhao is merely a small boss.” Rosiley walked over and sat down.
She looked around at the house that she had barely come back to since marrying Sachin. Looking at this house made her feel nostalgic.
Suddenly, her pupils focused as she rushed to the wall with many paintings. She was searching for something amidst those paintings.
Corey followed her and asked out of concern, “sister-in-law, what’s up?”
Rosiley was frustrated and anxious. She murmured, “It’s gone, it’s truly gone…”
Something was amiss!
Corey pressed on her shoulders. “sister-in-law, please calm down and tell me what is missing.”
More than 10 paintings were on that wall, but the most important one was gone.
Rosiley’s heart was flustered. She heard Corey’s words of concern, so she turned around to reply. “My mother’s painting is gone.”
“Your mother?” Corey frowned as he turned to look at the paintings on the wall. “Are you sure? Is it really gone?”
“I would never forget that painting. It was always in the center, but now it’s gone.”
She pointed to the center of the wall, her complaints showing her anxiety.
“Why would her mother’s painting be gone? Unless…”
A thought flashed across Corey’s mind when a sarcastic voice rang out.
“Damn, what kind of wind is blowing today? It seems to have blown in our Rosiley.”
