Chapter 92: A Clueless Man

Book:My Stone-Hearted Billionaire Husband Published:2024-10-8

“Just shut up, sit and drink with me!”
Sebastian didn’t want to explain himself to anyone. He only wanted distraction and maybe a few good tips on how to fix this mess.
“You look like you just lost a battle. What on earth did you do this time?”
Sebastian scowled, his mind racing back to Kourtney’s tear-streaked face and the way her voice trembled as she begged him to leave.
He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing into a deathly glare. “What do you usually do to appease a woman when she is mad at you? I’m not exactly good at this ‘feelings’ stuff.”
Edwin raised an eyebrow, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He surely wasn’t expecting that question from his unsympathetic and hard-hearted cousin, but then a light bulb flickered in his mind anyway, after all, he had years and years of experience as a playboy.
“Buy her something extravagant gift. Make it big! Like a grand gesture. Women love expensive things, right?”
Sebastian sighed, looking skeptical.
Yes, other women did love expensive things, but definitely not his Kourtney- at least from what he’d seen and observed so far. The woman barely even accepted the various expensive items he had gifted her.
But he decided to try again anyway…..
“Fine,” he snorted as he picked up his phone to dial Jamie’s number, irritation brewing in his gut. “I need your ass down in my office this minute,” he said impulsively before hanging up, not caring to know if the person on the line heard him or not.
Less than thirty seconds later, Jamie appeared in his view.
“I need you to find some high-end villas in Europe and make sure they’re in Kourtney’s name. I want to right my wrongs so make sure everything is perfect. She’ll see how much I care once she has a few properties to call her own.”
“Or she’ll see you as a man who thinks money solves everything,” Jamie retorted in his mind.
Sadly, he didn’t have the guts to say it out loud.
He wasn’t a specialist in love matters, but he knew that his clueless boss only needed to show his wife that he was truly sorry and actually cared, not just with his wallet or by throwing money at her.
That’s not how it works.
‘Villas? Really? You think that’s going to win her back?’ he wanted to scream but held himself back, rubbing his temples in frustration.
Sebastian was a man who had everything money could buy, but when it came to love, he was as clueless as a lost child in a vast shopping mall.
Jamie opened his mouth to respond again, but nothing came out.
Finally, he stepped out to carry out the orders.

Back at Lilian’s house, Kourtney couldn’t stop crying and wailing even after Sebastian obliged her demand for him to leave.
The sound of her sobs filled the room, raw and haunting.
Lilian rushed to her side, brushing a strand of hair from her tear-streaked face.
“Kourt, please calm down. You need to breathe. He already left, so why are you crying?
Kourtney turned, her eyes red and swollen, a fresh wave of tears spilling down her cheeks.
“Because,” she gasped between sobs, “just because I asked him to leave doesn’t mean I really wanted him to go!” Her voice was a mixture of anger and despair, and Lilian could see the conflict raging within her.
“Then why did you say it? Why push him away and ask him to leave?” Lilian pressed gently, kneeling beside her friend on the floor. She wrapped her arms around Kourtney, pulling her close.
“Because I wanted him to beg me!” Kourtney shouted, her voice breaking with anger and desperation. “I wanted to see him crawl for my forgiveness! He hurt me, Lil. But he’s an asshole! So he’s not going to do that, right?”
She buried her face in her hands, her sobs echoing through the room.
“I just…. I just wanted him to grovel at my feet. I wanted him to look at me and regret what he did! I wanted him to see how much he hurt me. I want him to feel it in his bones!”
Lilian nodded, understanding the complexity of Kourtney’s feelings. She could feel the pain radiating from her friend.
“Shhh, it’s okay,” She whispered, stroking Kourtney’s hair.
“No!!! It’s not okay! I want him to crawl back here to me and tell me how sorry he is! How dare he just leave like that?”
Lilian held Kourtney tighter, rubbing her back in slow, comforting circles. “Maybe… just maybe he doesn’t know how. Men can be… clueless sometimes.”
“Or he just doesn’t care!” Kourtney pulled her hands away from her face, her eyes bloodshot and puffy.
“Okay! I get it, I do. But listen,” Lilian said, her tone firm yet gentle. “You’re going to make yourself sick if you keep this up. You’re crying so much. You’re going to drown in your own tears. Please, just calm down. Take a deep breath.”
Kourtney tried to follow Lilian’s advice, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly, but it felt impossible.
She was hurting so much!
Another hour passed, and Kourtney continued to let out choked sobs, her body shaking with the force of her emotions. Lilian held her sweetly, whispering soothing reassurances for hours on end until she fell asleep.
