“Who?” Corey asked curiously.
“Someone that you know.” Rosiley did not tell him directly. Instead, she let him guess.
“Someone that I know? Someone who would harm my sister-in-law’s father?”
Someone flashed across his mind. He asked in suspicion, “Was it Rorey?”
Rosiley raised her brows. “Almost.”
Corey completely understood her once she responded. He spoke with conviction, “Xenia Zhao, Rorey’s mother.”
“Corey, you are indeed smart.” Rosiley smiled as she teased him.
“That’s true.” Corey raised his brows proudly before continuing, “Is Xenia Zhao crazy? How could she attempt to kill her own husband? If she isn’t mad, her conscience must have been devoured by a dog.”
His sentence turned weird, so he tried again. “No, even dogs won’t want to eat her dirty conscience.”
“I think she is crazy, too.” Rosiley curbed the smile on her lips with a cold simmer in her eyes. “She’d better be crazy, or I will really make her mad!”
“A domineering attitude, sister-in-law.” Corey looked at her in surprise.
Rosiley glanced at him, “Will you help your sister-in-law?”
“Absolutely. If my sister-in-law orders me, I will climb the highest mountains and swim the deepest seas to help her.”
Rosiley was speechless.
Beside them, Lane was unable to control his laugher and burst out laughing.
“Master, you should be careful with your words. If the lady really asked you to climb mountains and swim oceans, it would be pretty awkward for you.”
Lane was extremely happy expressing himself, unaware of the disastrous consequences it would bring upon him.
With a black, gloomy face, Corey asked, “Lane, your courage seems to have increased, right?”
“No. I have so much courage, I couldn’t possibly have any more.” Lane replied seriously, unaware that danger was approaching him.
Corey squinted then turned to the silent Sachin. “Big brother, isn’t our old man planning to set up a small town in South Africa? Wasn’t he worried that he had no suitable choice to manage the company there?”
Sachin nodded. “That’s right. Why? Do you have a recommendation?”
“Yes, but I will need your approval, brother.”
Lane felt a chill run down his spine. He turned around to look at Sachin subconsciously.
He saw Corey squint, with a meaningful smile on his lips. “I believe that Lane would be a suitable choice.”
Such a sentence fell on Lane like thunder, dumbfounding him.
“What?!”
“Does he want to send me to South Africa?”
“I don’t want that!”
“Thanks for your recommendation, Master, but I believe that I could not handle such an important task.” Lane squeezed out a smile as cold sweat fell off his forehead.
He was extremely afraid that his boss would approve of this recommendation.
Sachin glanced at his nervous face as a shimmer of light flashed across his black pupils. A thin smile crept up on his lips. “Corey, I can discuss this plan with the old man.”
Lane was extremely flustered. He was envisioning a future life that would not be an easy time.
At the sight of Lane’s ghastly expression, Rosiley could not help but chide the brothers. “Stop scaring Lane. If he runs away, it will be your loss.”
Then, she turned to speak softly to Lane. “Lane, ignore them. They are scaring you on purpose.”
Lane blinked his eyes repeatedly. He could believe that Corey was scaring him on purpose, but what about his boss?
He turned to look at his boss, who stared directly into his eyes. “As my assistant, if you can’t even sustain this scare, what do I need you for?”
The rest of them turned silent instantly as they wondered how he could handle this put-down.
