To them, this seemingly simple competition was actually quite challenging.
Not only did they have to be blindfolded, but they also had to rely on their memory to recall the names of the acupuncture points announced and insert the Silver Needle into the correct points within five minutes.
“Central Palace, Cloud Gate, Cubit Marsh, Great Abyss, Joining Valley…” The assistant announced the names of the acupuncture points one by one.
The points he announced included the feet, legs, torso, neck, and head, and most of them were obscure points, designed to increase the difficulty.
Clearly, at least in terms of acupuncture points, the Royal House of Albion had done their homework.
Leo listened quietly, memorizing the names of the points as the assistant announced them.
Seung Kim was different. When the assistant announced the twentieth point, he began to move.
From the twenty-first point onward, every time the assistant announced a point, Seung Kim would feel for it on the volunteer with one hand and insert the needle with the other.
One had to admit that Seung Kim’s speed was quite fast, at least fast enough to barely keep up with the assistant’s announcements.
“Is Dr. Leo meditating? Why hasn’t he started yet? Does he intend to memorize all sixty points?”
“Sixty points, and such obscure ones at that. It’s impossible to memorize them all at once, isn’t it?”
“It might be impossible for you, but for Dr. Leo, it shouldn’t be too difficult. I’ve been to Nameless Clinic; Dr. Leo’s medical skills are top-notch.”
The Atrarian audience whispered among themselves, but couldn’t help but worry for Leo.
As for the Goryeo audience, they wore smug expressions.
Their own medical saint was indeed impressive; Seung Kim had already inserted needles into nearly thirty points while the other side was still dawdling.
Soon, the assistant finished announcing all sixty points.
Leo began to move.
His movements were entirely different from Seung Kim’s. While Seung Kim used his left hand to feel for the points and his right hand to insert the needles, Leo used his right hand to insert the needles directly, as if he wasn’t even blindfolded!
Leo’s needle insertion was graceful and fluid, without any hesitation, and his speed was at least two to three times faster than Seung Kim’s.
This scene not only shocked the Atrarian audience but also stunned audiences and media from other countries.
Time flew by, and five minutes were up.
The assistant stopped the stopwatch and called out to stop.
Leo finished before Seung Kim; Seung Kim stopped exactly when the assistant called out.
Next, Leo and Seung Kim removed their blindfolds.
“Both contestants, please step back three steps,” the assistant gestured to Leo and Seung Kim.
Leo and Seung Kim stepped back as instructed.
Four individuals in white coats brought by the Royal House of Albion stepped onto the stage. After introducing themselves to the audience, they split into two groups and approached the two volunteers on the examination beds. They began checking the number of Silver Needles and whether they were inserted into the correct points.
These four individuals were clearly professionally trained; their examination methods were highly skilled.
At this moment, the entire venue was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Everyone held their breath, focusing on the four individuals in white coats, waiting for them to announce the final results.
Soon, the four individuals completed their examinations. They wrote down their findings on paper and handed them to Prince George’s assistant for compilation and announcement.
The assistant first showed the results to Prince George. After Prince George reviewed them and nodded in approval, the assistant took the microphone and scanned the room before announcing loudly: “Now, I will announce the results of this competition! Dr. Seung Kim inserted all sixty needles correctly with 100% accuracy!”
The Goryeo audience erupted in enthusiastic cheers.
“Quiet!” The assistant reminded them before continuing: “Dr. Leo also inserted all sixty needles correctly with 100% accuracy!”
The Atrarian audience immediately cheered and applauded.
“My son-in-law is amazing!” Jessica said proudly.
Sophia and Martin couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
It was clear to any discerning eye that Leo was better than Seung Kim in this competition because Leo inserted needles directly while blindfolded, whereas Seung Kim used his left hand to feel for the points before inserting needles.
However, since this round was about memorizing points and needle accuracy, even though Leo’s needle insertion skills were superior to Seung Kim’s, they ended up in a tie.
After shifting his gaze from Sophia, Leo quickly noticed that all the women he knew had come.
Among them were Coral, Renee, Rosemary, and Madame.
They were scattered among the audience, which is why Leo hadn’t noticed them earlier.
After applauding, Prince George smiled and said, “Both of you are truly deserving of your reputations as divine doctors.”
Representatives from Atrarian Traditional Medicine Research Department and Goryeo Medical Research Association felt gratified while glaring at each other with a challenging look.
“Dr. Leo, impressive skills. I apologize for underestimating you earlier,” Seung Kim said with a playful tone, his eyes narrowing into slits that gleamed coldly.
Leo retorted directly: “No need to apologize; I’ve never taken you seriously.”
Prince George’s assistant interjected at an opportune moment: “The first round ends in a tie. Now let’s take a ten-minute break before we proceed to the second round.”
As soon as the assistant finished speaking, Seung Kim loudly declared: “No need for a break; I suggest we start the second round immediately!”
The assistant was surprised by Seung Kim’s statement and looked towards Leo for his opinion.
Seung Kim taunted: “Dr. Leo, starting the second round immediately shouldn’t be a problem for you, right? Of course, if you’re mentally exhausted from the first round and need a break, I can allow you ten minutes.”
Seung Kim’s words were harsh. Leo responded coldly: “Let’s start the second round!”
Since both parties chose not to rest, the assistant had no objections. He turned to Prince George and said: “Now, please announce the method for the second round of competition!”
Prince George nodded and took up a document again to explain the method for the second round.
Unlike the first round, there was no pre-set winning standard or judges for this round; it was a subjective competition.
Medical skills are essentially about treating and saving people. Foreigners are more practical in this regard, and so is the Royal House of Albion.
In this second round of competition, the Royal House of Albion had prepared over ten patients with different conditions and numbered them.
Leo and Seung Kim would draw lots three times each. Each draw would assign one patient to them, making three patients in total.
The drawn patients would be their subjects for diagnosis and treatment.
