Maximilian glared at him. “Stop talking and move.”
With that, he rushed into the cave first.
Knox made a face and quickly followed with Leo and the others.
After a few steps, they entered the inner cave. The walls were lined with lamps every few paces, illuminating the interior brightly.
Strangely, the stones inside were dark red with many tiny bright spots. The light made the surroundings glow blood-red, twinkling like a starry sky, creating an eerie atmosphere.
Leo and the others were secretly amazed but kept moving, soon finding themselves deep inside the cave.
Suddenly, they emerged into a vast cavern. The walls were filled with bizarre rock formations and stalactites, a true marvel of nature.
As they were about to pass through, someone suddenly snorted, “Who dares trespass on the sacred grounds of the Moonstone Sect?”
Leo and the others immediately stopped and exchanged glances.
Maximilian stepped forward and said coldly, “WONDER is here to pay a visit. Show yourself.”
A blood-red shadow flickered in mid-air, revealing a middle-aged man in green robes. He was gaunt, with piercing eyes and a purple-green crown on his head, exuding an aura of menace and malevolence.
“Green-robed diabolist?” Maximilian’s expression changed. “Are you Quinn South, the right protector of the Moonstone Sect?”
“Indeed, I am,” the man replied coldly, narrowing his eyes. “You will all die here today.”
Maximilian laughed wildly. “Old thief, don’t boast. I’m right here; show me what you’ve got.”
“Very well.” Quinn smiled sinisterly and vanished into a blur.
“Everyone, be careful,” Maximilian warned calmly.
As they remained on guard, a chaotic sound of air currents suddenly filled the surroundings.
A massive swarm of terrifying blood bats descended upon them with sharp fangs bared.
Seeing this clearly, everyone was shocked and felt a chill down their spines.
Maximilian roared, “These are Blood Bats raised by the Moonstone Sect. Stop them with all your might and don’t let them bite you.”
“Yes!” everyone shouted and immediately displayed their skills.
First was Knox. He punched the air, releasing hundreds of electric snakes that formed a dense net, electrocuting the hideous Vampire Bats mid-air, causing them to fall like rain with miserable squeaks.
Next was Roland. He clasped his fists together and unleashed hundreds of crystalline ice shards that tore through the bats with brutal force.
Then came Vivian. She summoned a purple-green flying sword that cut through the bats like a rainbow, leaving a trail of carnage.
Finally, Maximilian unleashed his power. With a roar like a lion, he sent out two waves of energy that shattered the bats into pieces.
Leo did not act. He gathered his powerful Spiritual Power and observed the battlefield coldly.
The slaughter continued. Under the terrifying onslaught from Maximilian and the others, the ground soon became covered with a thick layer of bat corpses.
However, sometimes sheer numbers can be advantageous. Soon, several bats broke through the death line and lunged at Maximilian and the others with their sharp teeth.
In this critical moment, Leo’s eyes flashed as he shouted, “Exorcise!”
He raised his right hand and released a Talisman. Thunder rumbled as it shattered the attacking bats into pieces.
Maximilian and the others breathed a sigh of relief and redoubled their efforts in the slaughter.
Leo did not want to waste time here. He decided to capture their leader first and dashed towards the right front of the cavern.
The bats in mid-air noticed something amiss and split off a small group to attack Leo furiously.
Without looking up, Leo enveloped himself in a layer of blazing blue fire. Any bat that touched even a spark of this fire was instantly reduced to ashes.
In just a few seconds, Leo broke through the bat swarm and punched towards an empty spot in mid-air, releasing a burst of radiant light.
A shrill scream echoed as blood splattered from thin air, and a figure fell to the ground. It was none other than Quinn South.
With him severely injured, the remaining bats lost control and scattered chaotically.
The WONDER team quickly regrouped around Leo.
“Well done!” Maximilian patted Leo’s shoulder.
Leo smiled slightly without replying.
“Damn it,” Quinn muttered as he struggled to stand. Wiping blood from his mouth, he snarled viciously, “Relying on numbers? Today I’ll fight you to the death!”
Knox couldn’t help but laugh. “Diabolist, are you crazy? Talking reason with your kind is pointless.”
The WONDER team laughed along.
Roland stepped forward with a cold expression. “I’ll handle this one. Don’t interfere.”
Leo shrugged indifferently, enjoying his leisure.
Knox and Vivian felt a bit frustrated for not acting sooner.
Maximilian smiled. “Make it quick.”
“Alright.” Roland nodded and looked arrogantly at Quinn. “Diabolist, let me send you on a one-way trip to hell.”
Quinn jumped in rage. “You brat! You’re courting death!”
He reached behind him and pulled out a Hossu. With a shout, he commanded, “Heavenly Net, go!”
The Hossu glowed evilly as countless fine threads extended forward, forming a dense net aimed at Roland.
Roland snorted disdainfully. “Petty tricks!” He formed a finger gesture and flicked it rapidly.
Instantly, countless crystalline ice shards formed at his fingertips and shot towards the threads like a magnificent meteor shower.
The cavern turned icy cold as if it were winter.
Boom!
A loud explosion echoed as the threads were shredded into pieces by the sharp ice shards, turning into ash.
Quinn shuddered in pain. “My Hossu!”
Maximilian and the others cheered while Leo silently praised him.
Roland grew more vigorous in battle. Without saying another word, he formed another gesture. “Blizzard Storm!”
As he spoke, a fierce blizzard magically appeared before him, forming a raging ice tornado that charged at Quinn.
